Power set proliferation...could've been better
Well of course it could of been better if the sets you wanted didn't get ported.
Even if the sets you listed got ported, someone could have said it could've been better because they wanted the other powersets.
It will vary with different peoples opinions.

Some of the powersets you mention would be interesting to have on some ATs. For example, with their higher resistance limit and higher HP, I feel like regen would be almost to the point of overpowered on Brutes. Granted, regen is a %, but with a higher base, the same % = more healing.

Well sorta. Some ATs only got either a primary or secondary although there were appropriate choices available. Examples:
Brutes - Still could have Regen, Ice, Ninjitsu (well maybe) but only got a primary (claws)
Dominators - Could have gotten Illusion (in fact, that's all they need to be finished with primaries), but only got a secondary (Earth Assault)
What's really goofy here is that they'll probably have to create a few powers from scratch where Illusion could just port over.
Stalkers - Could have gotten Ice, Fire, Invul (ok lol to that, but still) but only got a primary (Broadsword).
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I'm mostly happy, but would have preferred Traps for Controllers, Axe for Stalkers ( "Executioner's Axe !" * CHOP ! ! * ), Ninjutsu for Scrappers, and Illusion for Doms. Still, what we are getting is quite nice.

Blasters -Dark Blast (though I admit, Rad Blast is a fine choice)
Brutes - Regeneration
Controller - Dark Miasma
Corruptor - Poison (though Trick Arrow was a fine choice too)
Defender - Poison
Dominator - Illusion
MM - Kinetics
Scrapper - Super strength or energy melee or fire epic powers
Stalker - Shields or fire melee
Tanker - Spines or energy aura

I'm still not convinced that Regen is a good idea for Brutes...much less Tanks.

Indeed. I wish there was less "time" in next time and more "next".
Just going to note here as a "glass half full" guy to try and lift your spirits:
Dear Castle didn't shoot down any ideas, which I've seen him do out and about when things like Ice Brutes come up, meaning all those sets are potentials or even sitting on the table to be trimmed and manicured a bit to fit into the archetypes suggested, meaning poison corrs and kin mms are indeed doable and wanted by the devs, they just didn't quite make this cut, and that's understandable.
Also keep in mind, two sets does not a benchmark make. Yeah there's roughly a year between the first proliferation and this, but that doesn't mean that the next batch is that far out. For all we know i17 could have some proliferation, or even Going Rogue. Just keep your chin up, we got some sweet new power access for every archetype and I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. Just enjoy what we've got for now and by the time you start pining for more I get the feeling it'll be almost ready for release.

Agreed Ill for doms would be ftw, but overall it is a decent and long overdue round of proliferation.

Regardless of the possibility of getting some of the requested sets here, I'm pretty happy with this set of proliferation. I was thrilled with the original power proliferation announcement, but I haven't had any desire to use any of the prior proliferated sets. This new one will have some that I've been hoping for.

The thing I've wanted most from power proliferation is a punchy, street fighter, slugfest set for Scrappers. But there's a possibility that's now going to be handled with MA's alternate animations, so looking forward to seeing how that works out.

I'm completely satisfied with this iteration of powerset proliferation. The only set I've really been hoping to see that didn't happen this time is Illusion to Dominators. Other than that, this group hits all the ones I wanted.

What power switches? How will having new Powersets available have anything to do with the IOs of existing characters?
Powerset Proliferation is going to be opening up new Powersets for players at Character Creation.
You will be able to create a new Archery / Trick Arrow Corruptor. You will not be able to (and never have been able to) Respec your Assault Rifle / Traps Corruptor into an Archery Trick / Arrow Corruptor.
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
The main reason I think Illusion might be "iffy" to be ported over to Doms is because in the hands of a Controller, the PA and pet are doing most of the damage, so it being able to soak up all the aggro with invulnerable pets isn't as big of a deal. For a Dom, however, with them able (especially now) to throw down nearly Blaster-level damage, having a trio of invulnerable pets to soak all the aggro/attacks may be borderline overpowered. Given the propensity to shoot for massive amount of +recharge to get domination up as often as possible, you're looking at perma-PA as well.
While it would be fun, I'm not expecting Illusion to be ported over to Doms anytime soon.

Wha? Are you under the impression that powerset proliferation will allow you to change an existing character? That's not the case...proliferation simply means that you can make new characters with powersets that were previously unavailable to a given AT

Energy Melee for Scrappers is pretty much the only thing I want to see in the future of this game that hasn't been announced yet.
Going Rogue stuff? Awesome. Power customization and more proliferation? Fantastic.
But for the love of god, please do whatever it takes to get Energy Melee into the Scrappers' hands! They're the only AT that gets melee attacks that doesn't have it; Tankers, Blasters, Brutes, Stalkers, and Dominators all have Energy Melee attacks.
Lower the damage, take out the stun component... I don't care. It's the only thing that fits thematically for a character I've been wanting to build since the game came out.
