Off the top of my head, I'd hazard a guess that the DE are gonna see a few upgrades and new storylines, what with Hami being such a powerhouse in Praetoria, and I suspect those mobs are gonna start dimension-hopping into Paragon and the Isles.

Quote:For the sake of the poll, I vote Option 1: scrap the legacy pieces, but....One thing to consider is that redo-ing the menus and placement of items within them is, in itself, a significant amount of work for the Character and Tech teams. Assume that any menu work will consume 50% of the time available for any redos.
Bottom line, avoiding menu work is preferable and brings us back to Options 1 and 2.
....scrap the legacy menu first, as in: "menu work should consume 100% of the time available for any redos until the menu work is complete."
And I say this because I can work with or around mismatched costume pieces for the time being, but in order to do so, I have to work with (and not around) outdated, cumbersome menus. -

**EDIT**
There appears to be a redname directly above me, so I'm mandated by internet law to draw attention to that, as if I have accomplished some sort of incredible feat that will benefit the entire world.
Still, he seems a friendly enough sort, so I will simply say, "Hello, Mr. Nakayama" and go about my business.
Crap...
It would've been easier and less long-winded to just to use the customary acronym, huh? -
Quote:Guilty by proximity?Just wanted to be 1st after a red name since for some reason that seems to be a thing...
edit: Nope, didn't make me cooler, smarter, better looking or richer. Demmit, what's the big deal on being after a red name then????
*shrugs*

Semi-related: Castle, can you at least confirm or deny that the list shown on the site (Rad Blast for Blasters, etc) is comprehensive? Is it just a 'these are some of' list, or is that all the ones being ported? Just to direct the speculation from here, so we don't get several months of "But there could be more!" if there isn't going to be.

I'm gonna side with the folks who don't want country flags as capes simply because I don't want to read the pages and pages of patriotic/anti-patriotic forum bickering that would happen if this ever came to fruition.
However, I will side with the folks who want SG logo capes (and more of the chest details to be transfered over for SG logo selection). -

You can't copyright the word gambit.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is true, but you can trademark it, which is what Marvel has done. Marvel effectively "owns" the word gambit when it's applied in any kind of superhero context, which is the most likely reason why it's filtered in a superhero MMO.
And if I remember correctly, they also co-trademarked the word superhero with DC, so you should run that one past the filter and see if it slips through. -
Scarlet Sentinel, vintage, no Cyborg Pack parts installed.
Scarlet Sentinel, vintage upgraded.
Scarlet Sentinel, fully upgraded riot armor.
Scarlet Sentinel, unmasked.
Scarlet Sentinel, a little sumthin sumthin for the ladies! -
I would like to see the Tsoo fleshed out more, and I'd like their storylines continue on into the higher levels of the game.
And just for [censored] and giggles, I'd also like to see David Lo-Pan and the Three Storms as a single Tsoo AV fight... or something similar. -
I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of Visual SFX, but I think they should be retroactively given as the 45 month vet reward, so it's more than just a badge and a respec. . . just as long as there's a way to shut 'em off.
Happy April Fool's! -

I've been updating this thead as I see posts on the Eden boards. I'll check and see if there's anything new...

And thanks for the link, Malohin. -
@Proto_Zone: No, they did not make the comic book.
@DeviousMe: Contact with Eden is the problem. They have nothing to say. The project is so far in limbo apparently that they can't even comment on whether it's going to come out or not. So now I come here (after 2 years remember; don't think I just went, "Dur, here's the first place I should go to get info about another company's project.") to find out Cryptic's standpoint on this. Are they gonna sit on their thumbs? Do they still have faith that Eden can pull it off, or are they gonna try to get another company involved? Do they care one way or another about this project at all? -
So this thing was supposed to have been released sometime in the summer of '05, but Eden suffered various financial setbacks that postponed the game's release. Now it's been, what? 2 years? And nobody over at Eden Studios has a thing to say about it. It's like zipped lips and taped mouths over there. The last 2 Eden responses (6 months apart, mind you) have been "Nothing new to report," which tells me. . . well, nothing. I think it means they still plan to release the game, but it's about 2 years outdated by now, and there aren't a whole lot of people on the payroll over at Eden, so if they're revising for CoH/CoV updates, seems likely all of that will be outdated too by the time they get done.
It'd be nice if someone over here -- one of the devs, perhaps (maybe a certain Statesman)? -- could shed a little light on this. It's gone well beyond the point of ridiculousness. Is the game coming out? In light of the CoH comic book being cancelled, is this sort of peripheral enterprise no longer a priority for Cryptic. Or crueller (is that a word?) but better yet, how long before Cryptic can pull the license and pass it on to a studio that can actually get the job done?
I may sound like a(n) [insert insult of your choosing] but I'm far beyond the point of caring anymore. Eden Studios may be a small business suffering in the wake of D20's onslaught, but dinosaurs die out for a reason. -

. . . it'd be interesting to give SS wall running capabilities, or atleast the ability to run straight up walls and hop over.
[/ QUOTE ]
/signed. This was one of the most disappointing aspects of SS when I first took it, no wall running or water running capabilities. Unfortunately, I can't think of an easy way to incorporate this. You wouldn't want wall running active at all times (it'd be pretty ridiculous to wall run every curb or stair you came across), so it'd have to be a toggleable ability, which would probably require 2 separate buttons for a single power or ditching one of the lesser used SS powers, like Flurry or Whirlwind (although I could see and understand that doing so would piss off some players). Still, if they could be implemented well, wall running and water running would be welcome additions to a sometimes frustrating power. -
So here's something that I've noticed, and I imagine I'm not the only one. I was running missions the other day with a full team of rather competent players. Everyone knew their job. There were no psychos on the team that would run off and get themselves in trouble and have to be bailed out. We played several missions, and everything was going really well. Then someone got a Mayhem Mission, and naturally, everyone was like, "Yeah, let's go do that," so we did. The mish was set to vicious so mobs ranged about a level or two above us, no big thing, we'd already done a bunch of +3 mishes by that point with no real trouble.
Verily, we begin to smash everything in sight and 'lo and and behold, we are not earning crap for bonus time. The clock's ticking, we're nowhere near the bank, and everyone begins to get antsy. We suffer a casualty. No big thing. I have Recall Friend so as soon as he busts out of his cell, I tp him back to the group. But antsiness is steadily building into all-out panic. Folks begin running willy-nilly trying to get to the bank before time expires, and everybody's bringing their own personal pissed off mob to the bank door. We start dropping like flies. I'm trying to find a safe place to tp people so we can regroup. Longbow's breathing down our neck. Our time is depleting rapidly. One guy suddenly can't grasp the concept that he has to break out of his cell before I can tp him back and he starts yelling at me. Another guy is unaccounted for, and a quick glance at the team window shows him to be in trouble; his health is dropping rapidly. Is he in jail, trying to fight his way out, waiting for me to tp him to safety but unable to drop his guard long enough to type? I have no idea. I tp him. Then he starts screaming: "[censored]! I WAS IN THE BANK!" The guy hanging out in the cell is like, "tp plz! tp plz! tp plz! tp plz!...." I'm trying to apologize to one guy and explain to the other that I CANNOT TP YOU OUT OF A PRISON CELL, BREAK DOWN THE DAMN DOOR!! and the timer runs dry. Booted to submarine entrance, everyone is pissed, team disbands, blah-blah-blah-yadda-yadda.
This is one of the more extreme instances, but it's not the first time I've seen a team completely fall apart in one of these mishes. Is it just me, or were Mayhem Missions designed to turn fully-functioning, competent teams into a gaggle of blithering idiots? -
I like the idea more than the execution. This really isn't wholesale destruction. Smashing parking meters and cardboard boxes doesn't make me feel particularly uber. It feels incomplete. Where's the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction-level chaos? Mayhem Missions should be more like the Rhino fight prelude in Ultimate Spider-Man where you're chasing Rhino through big, gaping holes he's made in buildings, only this time around you're the one making the holes. This is a decent starting point, but big powers should leave big craters, if you know what I mean.
Also, invulnerable citizens need to go the way of the dinosaur. I'm the bad guy. It's my job to pick on the helpless. Make citizens smashable.
Invulnerable streetlights and stop signs should get the boot too.
As they are right now, Mayhem Mishes are fun, but not terribly mayhemy. We should be leveling city blocks, not bus stops, especially at higher levels. And if we accidentally demolish the bank in the process, well. . . so be it! The vault's gotta be buried in that rubble somewhere! -

The attacks are missing some sounds. Charged Brawl and Havoc Punch have the electrical sounds, but lack a actually punch sound when you hit your foe. It just doesn't sound right.
[/ QUOTE ]
I totally agree with this. The Elec Brute's attacks lack that certain *THUD!* that makes a Brute feel like a Brute. These guys feel more like Scrappers to me. Give their hits some impact.
