uh... Isn't today some kind of goofy sorta holiday? Trying to remember more details....

YES! Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for this feature?! Please tell me the VS for Petrifying Gaze will in fact be "BRONG!" I'm going to go turn off my sound right now to get ready for this brilliant step forward in realizing the superhero gaming experience; audio has stood in the way of immersion for far too long.

LOL, for some reason the "FREEM" visual made me burst out laughing because it just fits energy blast so well. I can't wait for these new effects! Thanks Blue Steel and Mynx! I wish Pohsyb would work on cooler additions like these for the game

This actually works out real well for me cause my GF is always sleeping and mad at me for having the sound on. Now I can at least enjoy the game. I might have to disable them when I want to take screenshots and stuff but other than that it looks cool.

NCsoft NorCal is proud to announce a new feature for the City of Heroes® and City of Villains® games; that of Visual Sounds. Visual Sounds are based on the comic book staple of onomatopoeia, or the use of a word to replace a sound. Classic comic book examples are Pow and Ka-Boom! in colorful bubbles while heroes and villains are slugging it out. City of Heroes takes a huge stride forward by replacing simple sounds with the exciting new visual medium of Visual Sounds.
