  1. Dig the story they're using, the artwork not so much.
  2. Merchandising! Merchandising! Merchandising! Where the real money from the cartoon is made!

Sadly, i remember the Spider-mobile, and that's what I thought of when the bike came up. Silly, but if it's one time thing, it doesn't really bug me. Overall this doesn't look too bad. Sure, it won't be as good as Spectacular Spider-Man was, but it won't be Spider-Man Unlimited. I like the idea that he's being trained by SHIELD, makes people open to the idea that Parker doesn't have to be a loser in order to still be Peter Parker.

Also, really dug seeing him put on the Iron Spider armor.
  3. I liked the first one, I had my problems with it, but I've seen far worse movies. This one looks pretty cool. Doubt i'll see it in the theaters, but i definitely want to see it.
  4. the wet bar was rejected? WTF? But i wants one, i wants it nao!!!

I mean, i would willingly shell out the republic credits for it.

Im in this pool as well, and called that one. Double payout!

That's because Spock is still reeling from not having access to all the powers he had as Sylar.

Or it could be a human that is really good at hand to hand. Vulcans are stronger, but someone who can actually fight, and not whatever combat training starfleet peeps think they receive, should be able to go toe to toe with a Vulcan without being captain America.

This is how my group manged to get into a wizard's tower during an adventure being run at a local convention. Friend of mine had been working UPS for a couple years and was happily drinking the Kool Aid, so the first thing he asked the two guards at the door "Do you guys have a union? Do you guys stand here all day? Just waiting for someone to show up and stab you? and for what?"

Now, Im normally the BS artist of the group. It's what i do, it's fun. But the entire group just stared at him in shock. The DM asked for a bluff, and let the whole thing fly. We ended up waltzing through the whole dungeon picking up the wizard's 'soldiers' and presenting a list of grievances to the wizard who proceeded to try to kill his rebelling underlings. We sat back and watched. It was disturbing.

Wasn't that the basic idea behind Noh-Varr/Marvel Boy? And Bendis turned him into 'Protector'?
  10. The folks appearing in the video were funny. The dude ranting about Superman was full of krunk. Superman's death wasn't exactly the starting gun that kicked off comic characters getting resurrected, just the most high profile one. That and the dude lost points from the start by ragging on Superman to begin with.

CBM wasn't bad, but yeah, the pawn stars parts in the shop were pretty boring and they were way off in the prices they were quoting. Some lowballed (obviously intentionally), others, overshot A LOT. Dug the back and forth, but frankly, if i had to put up with that dude with the beard any longer than a few minutes, i'd probably rip his beard off, kick him off a cliff, and wear his beard as a trophy.

If this story is an accurate depiction of how well the 'new 52' is doing, that inevitable reversion is gonna hit a lot sooner than most folks think. Though they'll probably keep most of the costume changes with Jim & Dan still calling the shots.

  15. The overall costume design isn't that bad, it's just the "Power Bib" destroys the look.

  17. Could be worth a look. The Trek/Legion x-over is pretty good so far, so this could work.

Same. Closing the 'boob window' is one thing, but seriously it looks like she's wearing a Power Bib. The people in charge at DC are morons.
  20. It's a great big universe, and we're all really puny.
We're just tiny little specks, about the size of Mickey Rooney.
It's big and black and inky, and we are small and dinky.
    It's a big universe and we're not.

This is probably the reason i don't mind them rebooting the series. As much as i did like the first two Raimi films, there were a lot of things about them that i didn't like. Mopey Peter was one of the big ones, and this guy doesn't seem to have the perpetual kicked puppy expression Tobey was rocking in his Spidey movies. I admit, i really want to give this new direction a shot, and from the two trailers they've put out, it looks pretty good.

That was Empire, not Return, and in frustration blew the 'secret' on some morning talk show the week the movie opened.

They went roughly 2 or 3 years between Bond films, even when they brought in a new Bond. So 5 years from when Spidey 3 being released isn't too short a time to run with a new Spidey, IMO. Normally im wary of trailers, but this one does what the first one didn't, sell the movie. Its enough to make me interested in seeing the movie, and with any luck, it'll at least wipe the stain of S3 from my brain.
  24. I dig catharsis as much as the next guy, but there's just something about this that irks me. This is supposed to be funny, but it just isn't to me. Maybe its just the trailer, but im just not digging the vibe of the film so far. That and it reminds me a lot of Falling Down which i dig a lot more.

Still, ill give this a watch, just not in theaters.

I don't see why. almost all of these talented writers do have their own sandboxes to play in, but jump at the chance to write a SW novel, for the chance to add something to a universe theyve been a fan of since the first time they saw that text scrawl up the screen. Its like getting the shot to write a favorite comic book character, who wouldn't want a shot at adding something to the mythos of something you grew up on?
