New Spiderman trailer?

Ok, I have to admit it......this looks a LOT better than I expected!

I really loved the first 2 Raimi films (not so much the third) so was sceptical of this being redone, especially after the very basic teaser, but this looks pretty impressive!

Best thing for me, the quipping in the back of the stolen car to the criminal, much more in keeping with the wisecracking Spidey we know and love. Something that was sadly missing from Raimi's version.

Funtastic.

Funny how an actually well made trailer can turn things around a bit. I didn't like the 'mirror's edge' one, but this one had a lot of the elements about Spider-Man that I like best.

Before I was skeptical but knew I was going to see it anyways.

Now...now...I'M EXCITED!

Maybe they're trying to take a page out of Iron Man's book...

Or not many actors are willing to accept wearing a mask full time. Or they want the facial cues that don't show up when wearing a mask.

Not all actors can be Hugo Weaving.

This and the fact that when the studio pays for a certain actor, they want you to see the actor, especially his face. I still think that when something is filmed right, the mask can stay on. My favourite example is way back in Return of the Jedi. When Vader is watching the Emperor torture Luke, you can "see" the agony and indecision on his face, despite his mask.

I still dislike what they have done with the costume. The Raini one was perfect, but this one irritates me. Still, like BrandX, I have gone from "I will see it because it's Spidey, even though I am not looking forward to it" to "ok, this looks like it might be good."

Also a page out of Dark Knight's book. Still, this trailer is much more interesting than the previous one.

Hints that Gwen finds out he's Spidey. Dislike.

Also, harping on the costume again, the metal bits on his toes make him look like he's a tapdancer.

Really don't like the costume. Feels like a step back. And give Lizard his ******* snout!

Didn't like the whole Dark Knight angle of Spiderman being hunted down by police being a primary focus of the movie. Other than that? Probably gonna go see it.

Hmm, never saw the "mirror's edge" trailer for this movie but just watched this trailer...

A big "meh" from me. Just really didn't like Peter's hair/look (actor wise)...*shrugs*

Who is the villain? Is it just the Lizard or Lizard and someone else?

Seems like the villain is the Lizard and the Cops...

I think this looks good. I try to take each movie (or series of movies) on their own and view/enjoy them seperate from other continuities so I've no hang ups in that regard. My only issue at all is the suit... Just doesn't look like something a teenager secretly makes himself as their first costume. Then again, if they explain how it is he made such a really well done suit (in terms or make, if not look) then *shrug*

And we are so much poorer for that.

If that's true, and given actor's egos, I can easily believe it, then they should be cautious what they sign up for. It's not like we don't see Spidey's alter ego a lot of the time either.

Oh and one more thing: Peter, get a pancaking haircut!!

It's actually more of a "Spider-man comics from the 1980's" angle, but sure.

I still read comics here in 2012, including Amazing Spider-Man. There's a reason why they titled this movie after the mainline Marvel universe Spidey. The trailers are shaping him up to be just that, or very similar.

1. Peter might be shy. But Spidey never shuts up. Seriously. Wisecracking doesn't fully describe it. He could exasperate the Joker. At the same time, he takes his sense of Right and Wrong very seriously, perhaps more seriously than anything else in the world. He is a lot like Captain America, extremely genuine, but without Cap's well-trained discipline and focus. At the same time, his personality in the comics sometimes reminds me of Mulder's extreme sensibilities, from the X-Files. Mulder was an intensely introspective and honest person, but in the depths of his crusade, we sometimes questioned his sanity. Anyone remember that issue where the Chameleon stole Peter's identity for a day? Peter seems so disorganized on the surface, but below all of that, you have this crusader who has actually reorganized (and in many ways sacrificed) his entire life for the sake of his crusade. You have to read the comics to understand just how much depth this character has, why he wears the suit, why he does what he does. The previous movies were good, but that wasn't the Amazing Spider-Man from the comics.

2. He's not just "into" science. He's a super genius, even before his accident of origin. It's one of the reasons why he and Tony Stark used to hang out so much, up until Civil War. The only difference between them is Peter's difficulty with maintaining priorities in his personal life, and difficulty working with others (this last part has improved in the past couple of years). Anyone remember the comic where Dr. Octopus takes over all the machines in New York, and Spidey returns everything to normal purely through his genius problem-solving ability?

3. Anyone who thinks Peter Parker couldn't make the new suit on his own, needs to get to know the real Peter Parker (not Tobey Maguire).

4. Web fluid. Peter invented that. Nuff said.

Honestly, I'm optimistic, but will be very surprised to see someone outside of Marvel Studios or Christopher Nolan getting a super hero right.

The trailer had me until the point where it showed Peter Parker was responsible for the formula that turned Dr. Connors into the Lizard. The whole 'Superhero responsible for creating his own supervillain' is a movie cliche that needs to be shot in the face...

This. If it can be done with a hard mask that doesn't pancaking move in V for Vendetta, it can be done with Spider-Man's cloth mask. Also, bigger eyes plz. =-p

Peter going from a magic markered sweat-suit to a full-on painstakingly detailed lycra costume bugged me to no pancaking end in the Raimi movies.

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.
