  1. Well running CoX in Administrator mode worked and I was able to save it while I worked on it so thank you. Now however, it won't let me publish. I'm not sure if things are just getting shaky in our last month or whether something else is up but I've not had this problem before. I've got a spare slot to publish to, I'm in Admin mode and the arc has no errors. Any ideas folks?
  2. Worth a shot. I'll give it a go, thanks!
  3. Hi all,

I've recently been trying to create a goodbye arc in the AE but I've been finding that whenever I attempt to save it, I get a glaring red alert in the save window telling me that it's not saved.

I recently built a new computer and moved my CoX directory to the new machine. Although the game runs fine and my previously saved missions are in the folder I left them, I can't seem to save this new one or edit any of my previous ones. I'm guessing that it's looking at the wrong folder but can't find a way to change that.

My previous machine was running Windows XP 32bit and my new machine runs Windows 7 64bit if that makes a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

*Shudder* Yeah, she was great. Terrifying and beautiful at the same time. Damn I miss those conventions.
  5. I'm glad there's so many of you coming over. I've been playing for a month and have found it fun and the player base surprisingly mature and sensible. I'll have to join the CoX channel when I'm next on. Currently I'm playing:

Saffron 'Saffina' Mackenzie - Templar, Shotgun/Elemental
Dante 'Lokkehart' Santiago - Dragon, Blade/Chaos

Hope to see you all around sometime.
  6. Yarr! It has been a most jolly day talking like a pirate! The best day for a scurvy seadog like me to be on the reception rota.

Here be the theme tune to the day I've been singing:

In many, many debates Shadowe has been the voice of reason and is one of the most coherent and intelligent posters on these forums. So please, before you go labelling people as trolls, try and look at what he is saying and respond in the reasoned way that I know you are capable of.

However, as much as I understand what Shadowe is saying, I do not believe we will receive any communication from NCSoft other than what we already have. Let me tell you a little story.

I may be one of the few EU subscribers around who remember what happened when NCSoft Europe shut down. I even, by a bizarre co-incidence, worked in the office next door to them. The EU had separate servers, separate forums, we were a totally separate entity. One Friday, there was a very short post on our forums telling us the NCSoft Europe was shutting down. That was it. Aside from a few hurried posts from our community and moderation team, the office was closed and about a hundred people given their marching orders on the same day. For weeks and weeks, the EU forums exploded with angry people who had no idea what this meant for us. Were the EU servers being shut down? What would happen to the forums? Who was in charge? What about our billing?

We waited for weeks and nothing happened. We were completely left in the dark by NCSoft until finally some temporary moderation came through from the US. Shortly after the forums merged but I remember for that time we were abandoned with no communication whatsoever. So to see them do the same thing again to the whole game comes as no surprise to me. It's pretty much par for the course for them so I am not expecting any further communication from them whatsoever. If the servers go dark on the 30th of November without another word from NCSoft, I will not be surprised in the least.

That said, I totally endorse and support every action that is being taken to try and keep CoX alive. And I live in hope that our fat can be pulled from the fire and that we can keep going as a community. But us in the EU have already had this treatment before so this treatment is nothing new. As for us, right now we need everyone to stand together rather than descending into mudslinging. Please.

    Nothing, as usual.

All I have to say on the topic is: 'Marrow'
  9. I am very grateful for the welcome from CO's community and should the City fall, I may well decide to head over there in the future.

I wasn't keen on the game either when it started but CoX wasn't perfect when it started either so I may well go and take another look. Thank you for your support.

    Where are you?

Yay, I get to be the first Brit on the map.
  11. I have no idea whether we ever teamed Bill but you should know that it was your guide to Kheldian lore that got me fascinated with them, that made me overcome my altisis so that I could get a character to 50 and claim my prize.

Many years later, a powerful Warshade is my most played character and I still love him so thanks for instilling that passion in me. Happy trails wherever you go.
  12. Thank you for keeping us entertained all these years. I may not have always agreed with the plot twists but it was one hell of a campaign.

All the best for the future.

    Damn right it does. Crap.
  14. Costume Change Emotes.

I made a post about having emotes for changing costumes as part of a Booster Pack (oh how I miss them now) which gave us extra costume slots and a mobile tailor. I was overjoyed to see the emotes come into game a few years later.

Was it just me? Not sure but I never saw anyone else suggest them but someone at Paragon could have also been thinking along the same lines. I'll take tentative credit for it unless someone tells me otherwise.
  15. Travel well Tech.

Our RP time was limited but you have always been fun to read and listen to and your posts were always well thought out and well intentioned.

  16. We're still reeling over on The Militia boards but we'll be keeping the boards going as I think all of us still intend to keep roleplaying with each other one way or another. Whether that means keeping it as forum RP or moving to a different game, who knows?

    Amen to that.

And thank you for your posts about Sister Flame and her adventures. It has inspired me to introduce my daughter to gaming too although sadly, her experiences in CoX will not span the many years that Sister Flame's did.

Peace on you and your family.

  18. Heh, I think that vote is almost unanimous, Corruptor it is.

I failed to mention that I have and love my Kinetics/Sonic and Kinetics/Ice Defender but that my Dark/Kinetic Corruptor failed to impress me. However, Scourging Rain of Fire sounds like too good a treat to miss.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
  19. Hi all

I've been thinking of pairing Fire Blast with Kinetics for a while now and can't decide which AT to do it on.

    Corruptor:
    Positives: Higher Damage cap, Scourge.
Negatives: Longer to get key Kinetics powers, no endurance help on teams.

    Defender:
Postitives: Endurance reduction on teams, better powers earlier.
    Negatives: Lower Damage cap.

Has anyone got any experience with these builds? I'd love to hear your views.

    Many thanks,

    D
  20. I may be the guilty party. I've been on a few ITFs recently on my Mind/Dark/Leviathan Dominator and I took it so I can recolour it something nice and black when i24 goes live. Between it and Bile Spray, it adds some nice AoE to my build.

As for slotting, I've been using my spare Overwhelming Force enhancements as I have loads of them left over from the Summer Event. So I'm quite interested in how other people are slotting it too for when I do my level 50 respec.

Sound design is such a thankless job normally (I know, I have been that soldier). But when you notice it, boy is it effective.

I personally love the sound of the Seed of Hamidon in First Ward. Whenever I hear that sound getting closer, I shudder. Kudos to whoever designed that.

And this thread just makes me want to buy Staff Fighting even more now...
  22. Has the date changed for this at all? I seem to recall it being later in the month.

It being that weekend will make things... uncomfortable.

That does help to explain the design. However, I'd say that he's trying to squeeze too many ideas into one costume and that's why it comes across as looking messy. There's simply too much going on because there's too many concepts crammed into one outfit.
