    Boycott NCSoft

Agreed. I'll never buy anything from them again.

And you wouldn't like her when she's angry.

  5. I've made a magic-themed Water/Plant Corr named Marsh Mistress; no backstory for her yet. And also a Praetorian, Science origin Necro/Nature Mastermind named The Verdant Legion. He's supposed to be the result of Neuron dumping a load of a failed regeneration serum into a field outside the city; it soaked into the the plant life, the ground, and a dead body buried beneath. The serum infused the plants and raised the body as a creature that's part plant, part reanimated corpse. It can raise other corpses in a similar fashion, thus the Necro part.
  6. I've made 2 so far; a heroic Water/Nature Corr named Marsh Mistress, a magic user. And a Praetorian Necro/Nature named The Verdant Legion; Neuron dumped some "failed" regeneration serum he was working on in a field outside the city, it permeated the soil and found a dead body; and the result was a half reanimated man, half supercharged vegetation thing capable of infesting more corpses with its plants to reanimate them as well.

Not on Necro/Thermal; if you don't have a self heal Life Drain might be worth taking, but Thermal has one.
  8. Obscure Blade

    Ghost's Origin?

He could also be a mutant; a powerful psychic that survived the death of his physical body as a psychic entity. Rather similar to Numina, except using psionic instead of magical forces.

I played it once like six years ago, and that's the only part about it I remember. Not being able to jump. In an action-fantasy MMO.
That was one of my major impressions of the game when I tried it, yes. It was extra jarring because I'd just recently started playing CoX, and going from being able to fly at will to not even being able to jump felt rather...limiting.

    Agreed. It's creepy as hell.

No, it's apparently more than one thing:

Didn't they already nerf the graphics significantly? I recall reading complaints about that in the Beta forums, that it had been reduced to "leaf control".

Or the Victorian Decor Aura from the Steampunk Costume Pack; some of my characters already use that as a force field stand-in.
  16. With the crystal-looking thing between Giant Guy's feet and his feet not touching the ground, I'm thinking that maybe it's supposed to be a holographic projection.

  19. Since getting incarnate powers requires grinding through trials I don't care much about them. I still haven't gotten around to doing half of the incarnate trials, I simply don't enjoy trials/TFs and so on very much.
  20. I'd pick Brickstown blueside because it's so unused for a city zone, and so full of dull legacy content. For content, I think I'd go with an arc and TF about the Freakshow trying to get new weapons and cybernetics from Praetorian refugees; the end being you stop them from getting a huge amount of them but they make away with enough to equip an elite bunch of Freakshow with new improved tech. This would allow for the addition to the game of high level upgraded Freakshow with more modern hi-resolution models and a variety of new powers/looks.

On redside I'd add a TF and missions from the opposite perspective in Nerva or St Martial where your character tries to help the Freakshow with their project, fighting off some NPC heroes in the process, and walking away with some nifty Praetorian-themed temp power as a story arc award.
  21. Willpower as said is a bit better on brutes because of their higher HP, but WP scrappers are perfectly good as well. So it's at least as important what primary you are choosing; some primaries are significantly better on a scrapper or brute. An Elec/WP scrapper will do significantly more damage than a Elec/WP brute, for example.

    Illusion dom

Phantom Army is the signature power of Illusion Control; if it was removed it wouldn't really be the Illusion that people are asking for. You'd be better off making an entirely new set than pretending you are giving Doms Illusion while giving them a version that's "Illusion" in name only.

One idea, from a friend, is a spines/ice stalker, whose spines are meant to be sharp shards of ice; that's interesting, but I can't colour the spines to look properly 'icey' to my tastes.
I have a Spines/Ice stalker with colored "ice" that's supposed to be crystallized poison.
  24. For melee, Dark/Dark might be a good choice; multiple mezzes (to simulate mind control), and Dark Melee colored red looks quite bloody.

Just a bit of power customizing gives you bats instead of hawks/ravens, and dark wolves to do your bidding. Which leaves you to choose your flavor of a secondary, probably pain domination or dark miamasa, though a case could be made for some of the others, depending on how hard you want to roleplay this character.
Ha; I actually have a Beast/Dark vampire, named The Father of the Night. (Dracula: "Listen to them - children of the night. What music they make!”).
  25. If you get a mission to Echo: Dark Astoria and have Mission Teleporter, you can use it to get to the Echo and take the gate there to Ouroboros.
