State the facts and only the facts, and keep everything else under their hat. Any attempt by them to rile the fans up could be seen as tampering and might reflect badly in any ongoing negotiations.

Still, I am glad to have it confirmed.
Actually, Alpha Wolf was very good to put it the way he did. He simply said they were trying to negotiate. I think the goal was to keep us in "the know" as to what is going on, and to let us know that they, too, are working to find a solution.

If I had to wager, I'd say it was a calculated move. To keep us motivated and inform us to let them know that we are still interested and wanting to keep the game going. Making noise, as he called it, keeping NCsofts attention.

Yes, yes, indeed. I very much loved seeing that.
Not pinning my hopes on this, but yeah... very nice to hear.
Anything we can do... let's keep it going!

A glimmer of hope....
I'm not sure how much my heart can take!

Still, I will be spreading the word, too. Maybe miracles can happen.

If they do become an indie studio and are open to investment opportunities I would be willing to contribute!

How fitting

That does sound like good news.

It is good news to know for sure that the developers are in the fight. I am thankful for Tony and his efforts , but it is good to know our leaders " If you will " are in the fight....

It's still a long shot - but the word "discussion" implies that NCSoft are at least prepared to listen - unless all it means is that Positron is using a sledgehammer to break down an NCSfot exec's door to arrange a "meeting".

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEERE'S POSI!"

... though that might be Anti-Matter posing as him, come to think.

Personally, I kinda like the idea of both scenarios. And now, I can't help but picture him reciting the lines Keyes says in the teaser video that was posted recently where he's talking to Hami...

(great, now I gotta watch that again!)

Yeah. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be neat if Paragon finally got to spread its wings and run solo as an independent studio.

This news is.....encouraging. Here's hoping.

Also on a slightly "devil's advocate" note: let's say the game is saved somehow (Im hoping that is saved, don't get me wrong), but would that mean the return of all the Paragon Studio staff? Some may not want to return for assorted reasons.

It's really uplifting to know that there's a glimmer of hope in the darkness. We've got to keep on fighting!

(Sorry - couldn't resist. Can you tell I'm a little bit giddy? )
LOL that made me think of a scene in my all time most favorite movie! (my signature is a quote from it)

Loanstar = CoH
Dark Helmet = NC Soft shutting CoH down.....at ludicrous speed. Watch to see what's gonna happen.

(Edit: And YES. We are going over NC Soft's "helmet" if we have to.)

Signed Yes keep it up!

Well here's hoping. If you guys succeed, that means I don't have to shell out a chunk of $$$ to aid the 'save CoH' fund

Honestly, it would probably be a fairly risky venture for the people who've just been let go to take on a position in a start up venture. Even if NCSoft agrees and even if they can raise enough capital to keep the game going, a large number of start ups of any kind fail. I would not fault any Dev who chose not to return because of finding some other more secure position in the meantime.

At this point, I am a bit more hopeful than I was. If NCSoft is willing to CONSIDER letting Paragon spin off then it raises our chances of the game continuing at least a LITTLE bit.

I have never been so happy to see a GG post before evar.

That really is encouraging - maybe Paragon can become its own publisher and turn City of Heroes into its flagship game. Good luck to all of them, and if there's anything we can do, sign more petitions, write letters to NCSoft, whatever, I hope they'll let us know so we can help make it happen too.

It depends first on who wants to come back. The market isn't exactly wonderful right now, so it's not really the best of time to be shopping around for a new job if you don't have to... but some might already have people trying to hire them back up before CoH is saved.

If another entity buys CoH, they may or may not even offer the Paragon people positions, depending on how they want to go (I'd imagine they'd try to get at least a few, just so they don't have to try to figure out everything on their own!).
