This Has just Been Posted In-Game
So there are at least some of the devs - maybe even the whole stuido - who are taking an active role in the rescue effort.

*hugs GG*
Lets keep up the fight to save Paragon City!
H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster
CoH in WQHD
Also on a slightly "devil's advocate" note: let's say the game is saved somehow (Im hoping that is saved, don't get me wrong), but would that mean the return of all the Paragon Studio staff? Some may not want to return for assorted reasons.

An alternative could aslo be another expansion for CoH - during the development GR, the staff were ramped up to 70+, so a similar expansion could take in all the members of the team who were working on the secret project.
Having a new MMO in development or an expansion for their existing one could also be a useful hook for investors.

My well wishes go out to the Paragon team that is trying to establish communications with NCSoft and its execs. Hopefully something can be established and worked out.

The bit that sounds really good is "Paragon management" - not "some of the developers" - it makes it sound like they are still holding the studio together in at least some way.

Or better yet, a sequel with a more modern engine/graphics but the same fantastic features and sensibilities!
It's not like Paragon Studios has a static staff. People have come and gone over the course of its existence (even just in the two years I've been following the game), including major players like BAB and Castle.
So if a few don't come back, it'll still work out. (If it works out at all, of course. My optimism is still very very cautious)
Thanks GG.
I was not able to log in the game since friday.
Im too sad for that.
I just hope they can keep the IP and go as an indie studio till they look for a worthy company.
So much good stuff was coming to just surrender. And they were also working in another MMO.
Cross fingers!
If "Investors" happen to read the forums, I know I, for one, would gladly pay double what I am paying now to keep my account alive, and would also fund a "lifetime" subscription, similar to that other Super Hero game, to fund start up capital. I know there are many more like me.
I don't hold out a lot of hope, but I really appreciate you posting this GG. Sometimes a tiny glimmer of hope is all that is needed. We are heroes (and villains) after all and have fought off hoards of enemies with less.
Dear Universe, whatever good luck, positive karma, or anything I might have... please give it to Paragon Studios. My job search can wait... it's just me and John. But some of the developers have families, and I'd rather they be taken care of first.
Kay? Please? Thanks.

THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE CONTINUES!
Book I: A Tale of Nerd Flirting! ~*~ Book II: Courtship and Crime Fighting - Chap Nine live!
MA Arcs - 3430: Hell Hath No Fury / 3515: Positron Gets Some / 6600: Dyne of the Times / 351572: For All the Wrong Reasons
378944: Too Clever by Half / 459581: Kill or Cure / 551680: Clerical Errors (NEW!)
From the use of the word "investors", it sounds more like they are looking to negotiate a separation from NCSoft, and try to put together backing to become an indie studio.

Best case all around.
Just like Turbine (later developers of Dungeons & Dragons Online) taking over their Asheron's Call MMO from Microsoft. The developers love their games and don't want them to disappear, even if they barely pay for themselves.
You can do it Paragon!
My hope is to see GG hit 100,000 posts in the next couple years. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the . . . tidbit.
tulga and vitruim games as well. of istaria. They have ben hanging on with a fraction of our player-base.

If they do become an indie studio and are open to investment opportunities I would be willing to contribute!

It's still a long shot - but the word "discussion" implies that NCSoft are at least prepared to listen - unless all it means is that Positron is using a sledgehammer to break down an NCSfot exec's door to arrange a "meeting".

This is the perfect time to finally post this once I remembered it. If anyone's watched all of the recent Jim Carrey "Horton" movie, will fully understand We are here, we are here, WE ARE HERE!
