I would extremely upset if that is the case (getting credit for other NCSoft games).

Of course, there may be something in the EULA stating as such...so then we're floating down Crap Creek with no paddle. Or raft.

If there is no such verbiage in the EULA, then I wouldn't be surprised if a class action wasn't initiated.

As Slazenger stated...it would be salt in the wound. Lowering their value with the community even more.

But then again, they may not care about their standing with the community.
  2. In my life, there are things far more annoying than people cross-posting in a game forum. But I also do recognize that different people have different tolerance levels to annoyance.

Nevertheless, it seems that continually replying would just bump this thread up.

    It might be akin to:
"Wow, this fly is annoying the heck out of me. Let me open the door to let him out."
"Oh. In comes another fly. I better keep the door open to let them both out."

  3. I tried playing the Secret World and really didn't understand the ability points, skill points, etc. It will be uninstalled soon.

However, the graphics and storyline are quite impressive...so I think it's just a matter of "can't teach an old dog new tricks" (at least for this old dog, anyway!)
  4. Mr. Miller/Posi,

You, sir, are a class act.

You can not spell "PARAGON CITY ROCKS!" without P-O-S-I-T-R-O-N.

    You're right. This isn't "goodbye".

You'll be back; and we'll be ready --- pencil, paper, and dice --- waiting for you.
  5. I'm allowing this to be a hopeful message without getting my hopes up.

Thanks, Golden Girl, for posting it.
  6. Good point. I apologize, Target Zero... I should not responded as negatively as I did.

We're all passionate about this game...thus the heightened feelings.
  7. I'm not quite certain that implying something about the Korean's culture (specifically their matrimonial vows) will help our cause at this point.

Yes, they said "forever", but it may be folly to assume that they are able to make guarantees any more than any non-Korean business entity.

Do you think that American companies, when they say "forever", also mean to the end of time?

    Sign it

As of 6:00 AM PST (Sept. 3, 2012) - we only need 330 signers to fill that petition.

That has to say something, doesn't it?

Imagine if NCSoft changed their mind...and somehow got us back into Paragon City into our capes, making the streets safer...

Imagine what that would do to their positive P.R.

    COH Memories

Cryo from another 45-year-old "kid" who is weepy-eyed, I have your back. I share your loss.

I didn't start out in beta, admittedly. I believe I started with Issue 3.

I still remember being told I needed to get to Kings Row to talk to a contact. Running through the tunnels got tiring so I broadcasted my displeasure when some kind soul broadcasted back: "Have you tried the train?"

Train? There's a train! I rushed over to look at my map that was included with the game. (Yes, I'm a guy... we rarely look at instructions). Oh sweet nectar! A train station! Perhaps, just perhaps... it will take me to Kings Row.

And it did! And I was on cloud nine.

Until my contact happened to be in an orange zone...and then zap. I was dead. But happy. Dead but happy because I had found a train!

And since then there have been so many more wonderful memories. But now I don't even want to log on. I guess I feel "What's the point?" Why try to build up my newest staff-wielding brute if only to see him "BLIP!" out in approximately 90 days?

I guess I can look for other online MMORPGs that have a superhero theme. But it won't be the same.

    Not ever.

    FF/Beam?

    Hi there, Progressman.

There is a current discussion about FF/Beam here:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=275643

Not sure if that covers some questions you have, but thought I'd point you there, nonetheless.
  11. Thanks for chiming in, Local Man, as I always find your advice valuable.

Is the STF (found in IP) for lvl 50s?
  12. Okay, Kioshi, thanks. I'll check into those.

I'm guessing that there isn't any less expensive alternative that you'd recommend?

    Thanks again.
  13. If they're quite expensive, would you have any other suggestion what I'd slot in their place?
  14. Wow, Kioshi!

I'm very grateful you did that for me. Thanks very much!

Regarding the HO: Nuclei...are those something that can be purchased at WW? Or is there some other method I'd obtain them?

And the extra KB protection is always appreciated!
  15. Thanks for the additional tips, Draggynn.

I have a lvl 50 who did the Ouroboros trial, so I'm aware of that.

Seeing as my plant/storm has JUST got lvl 19, I have some time to work on him to see how I'll want to play him.

    Thank you!
  16. Wow, Draggynn, I really appreciate all the time you put in to replying. Thanks!

I'm wondering if perhaps I want to have LESS recharge. Maybe a plant/storm doesn't need all that recharge? Sure, a lot of recharge is nice, but if one doesn't have the endurance to feed it, it seems futile.

Thanks for your tip on perhaps other masteries and Cardiac. I'll have to check into how to obtain Cardiac...sounds a bit more doable than Destiny (based on your input).

With regards to some masteries (Leviathan, Mu, etc.)... does a hero need to become a vigilante, then a villain, to obtain these? I thought that was the case, but perhaps I'm wrong?

I like your idea about putting a proc in Stamina and maybe increasing Health with some slots so I could put in a set. As I was crafting him in Mids, I realized that I had extra slots and wasn't sure where to put them...now I know.

So thanks again for your help!
  17. Thanks for posting your build, Swansu.

So should I just understand that without Ageless, I'm going to have a major END problem?

If so, I'll scrap him...as I don't want to have to do the incarnate grinding just to play this character (or game).
  18. Hello all,

Thanks to the thread "So why is plant/storm so awesome", I got the plant/storm bug.

A special thank-you to Kioshi and Tater Todd for their input and for everybody else in that thread for their information.

Here's my build. Please be gentle, as I'm not always the best at placing slots! LOL! And ignore that I slotted Stamina at such a high level! I forgot until then so when I make this guy, it will be much sooner.

Thank you very much for any advice you can offer.

My intentions: I don't mind teaming with him, but I want to be able to hold my own soloing. I have influence, but not sure I could load him down with many purple sets.

I appreciate your input very much.

Edit to add: I chose the Primal Force Mastery due to the draw of the Power Boost and Conserve Energy powers. However, if you have other suggestions, I'm open to them. I just know that this will be an endurance monster, so the Conserve Energy was quite appealing.
  19. Thank you for the explanation, Egos. I appreciate it.
  20. Thank you very much for answering, Egos!

Re: the SSA - can each story arc be repeated for Incarnate salvage? I think once a week if I recall?

I guess I don't fully understand how the Incarnate purchasing system works (but that's a topic for another thread. )

If anybody has a good (easy to follow!) link to understand it, I'd appreciate that. (Think "Incarnates for Dummies" )

    Thanks again!

Lambda Sector, Minds of Mayhem, the Underground and the Keyes Reactor all give Incarnate XP towards Destiny, so you can get a fair portion of the way there just doing each of them once (assuming that you're on a server that runs a variety of trials and doesn't just grind BAF/Lambda).

You can't beat grinding Lambda for efficiency if you want to unlock Destiny as quickly as possible though.
  21. So how hard (or maybe time-consuming is a better word) to get something like Destiny:Ageless?

Is it just grinding through trials? I guess that's what I dislike the most...just wash/rinse/repeat until I'm about to barf up Rikti.
  22. Thanks for sharing your build, Todd.

Gosh, I wish I could get more into the Incarnate system. For me, it's just too much like work (that may be because I don't fully understand it, or that it bores me. )

I know there are many benefits to it.
  23. I forgot about Steamy Mist...thanks, Kioshi!
