[Admin] Alpha Wolf: Sorry guys but I don't have any new update. I know Paragon management is having discussion with ncsoft and investors. Continue get people to sign online petitions, post on game forums, and just continue to make noises so ncsoft cannot ignore players.
So there are at least some of the devs - maybe even the whole stuido - who are taking an active role in the rescue effort.

Really good to know, and sounds like our efforts are being used in whatever discussion they're having.

That is very comforting, and invigorating. Yay for morale boost!

Thanks GG!

This is a question I had.. and this is a direction I was hoping things would go,

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

i dreamed a dream, but now that dream is gone...good bye Paragon

The bit that sounds really good is "Paragon management" - not "some of the developers" - it makes it sound like they are still holding the studio together in at least some way.

Yes!

Remember - NO PROMISES. We have NO PROMISES.

But keep up the good work, people! It IS having an effect!

It's been said before, but it can't hurt to repeat it -

WE ARE HEROES. THIS IS WHAT WE DO.

I'm pretty sure it's the direction that 99.99% of the whole player base wants it to go in.

That last 0.01% is fairly easy to put on ignore

Make sure to emphasize that they're trying to work something out - not that they are working something out - the main thing to let people know is that the devs are not accepting the closure either, and are working as hard as us to rescue the game.

"Look at that speed! Do you think we'll be able to pull up in time?"

"It'll be just like beggars canyon back home!"

(Sorry - couldn't resist. Can you tell I'm a little bit giddy? )

Thanks GG!

If they rescind the cancellation and rehire the staff I'll undeclare my little war, including my boycott (join because it's leverage - I'm pretty sure they're aware of my group because I have plastered their facebook page with it)

One COULD be cynical and say "Well of course they're not accepting it, their jobs are on the line!"

One COULD... Until you go through all the Dev posts and then you KNOW they are just as passionate about this as we are. And for much the same reasons.

I know this is FAR MORE than just "a job" to ANY of the Devs!

They are just as much a part of this community as any of us.

And here's to letting them know whatever happens - we're rooting for them!

Thanks for that. It certainly offers a glimmer...

Oh WELL PLAYED sir! Well played!

Anybody else think "happy air sounds" sounds like "SQUEE!" or is that just me?

From the use of the word "investors", it sounds more like they are looking to negotiate a separation from NCSoft, and try to put together backing to become an indie studio.

Careful in over-parsing the "corporate" language there. It would be great if that's what they are negotiating, but DON'T ASSUME!

(Hoping you're right, though. *fingers crossed*)

How come the only time I was able to find the ignore button was the time I got too annoyed with all the hints GG always leaked? And not earlier when that guy posted about how he was 13 years old and how he just learned to use curse words...

(and then I'd just read all her posts anyways, but have to click to view them first... yeah, eventually just gave up on that )

Yeah, this guy just won the thread!

And as to the whole indie studio idea? I'd totally get behind that! Although... I'd imagine that'd raise interesting implications for the 'reveal everything' event that Positron talked about...

If that's what they're looking to do, and that does make sense to try and branch out as a new studio, I'm meeting up with someone tomorrow who's a funds manager for a large venture capital firm and I'll get it in his ear. At the very least I can pick his brain on what the market looks like from the inside for that kind of venture in this market.

I'm actually surprised any Dev came out to say that at all. Things are very touch and go right now if my guess is right. I am positive that Paragon is doing everything it can to stay in the fight, but they had to keep things as neutral as possible. State the facts and only the facts, and keep everything else under their hat. Any attempt by them to rile the fans up could be seen as tampering and might reflect badly in any ongoing negotiations.

Still, I am glad to have it confirmed.

And there's always crowdfunding. We've got a number of people here who said they'd pay up to $1,000 just to save the game from death.

Even if nobody pays THAT much into it, there's still a lot of us who'd be willing to contribute even just a small amount.
