Has there been any word on refunds ?

I have heard that some people are getting messages on their ncsoft logins that they will be issued credit for other ncsoft games.

Think that would just be rubbing salt in the wound.

People paid in Cash, they have a right to that if a service is cancelled.

Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

Tell me about it. I am thinking of suing them in small claims court in my state just to make them show up with an attorney.

Corporations often try stupid tricks like this because some people will take it. A threat to sue may get an actual refund in dollars. Then again, maybe not.

Please try to get this put on the People's Court or Judge Judy so we can laugh at you.

Yeah, seriously. Like they'll bother to show up.

I would extremely upset if that is the case (getting credit for other NCSoft games).

Of course, there may be something in the EULA stating as such...so then we're floating down Crap Creek with no paddle. Or raft.

If there is no such verbiage in the EULA, then I wouldn't be surprised if a class action wasn't initiated.

As Slazenger stated...it would be salt in the wound. Lowering their value with the community even more.

But then again, they may not care about their standing with the community.

Any guess what would happen if the credit card charge is disputed, if one is lucky (or unlucky) enough to have just paid it before the announcement so its still in the time window?

Yes: it goes on their ledger as unpaid then gets turned over to a collection agency and ruins your credit.

Getting your money back through a credit card dispute may be satisfying but it's not a good idea unless the charge is something you genuinely didn't order. Typically it's better to work through the BBB or other avenues.

I think it depends on the laws of whatever country you live in. From what I've seen people saying, I think in EU they might be required to refund the money. Whereas in other places they may not be so required.

If they are pulling out of the Western market as has been suggested, why would they care? If it's true then they've written off the Western market as a waste of time and effort.

I haven't recieved any contacts at all one way or the other. What bothers me is that this was more or less an ambush and there doesn't seem to be any way of getting in touch with a billing department or anything like that to lobby a complaint. I feel as if I have been robbed, I actually did a subscription prepay up to 2014 and am just a tad peeved about that.
