Quote:My bind plan was very simple. "How do these controls vary from CoH and how can I fix them?"First thing I recommend is re-binding A and D to strafe, instead of turn.
It seemed like a better plan than unlearning 7-1/2 years of keyboard mashing.
BTW, since it seems I never mentioned it:
My character name in TSW is Mythmaster (since the name I wanted was taken).
On the bright side, my forum handle over there is Ironblade. -

Quote:That's how it starts. Next thing we know you'll be dupin rares. We did not specifically intend to exclude them, this was a conscious decision not to entangle them in an activity who's legality was somewhat ... questionable.
I dunno. But after we gathered by the base, we all got turned into... budlings? Jello? Hamlets? -
Exactly. It only refers to the NAME. The intellectual property is a different story.

When I have used the market this past week, I had to close and re-open the window on more than one occasion (but not EVERY occasion). So it's entirely possible that changing your settings did nothing and it would have opened correctly anyway.

Quote:Interestingly, that's how I decided what level to join Star Citizen at - the size of my refund from NCSoft. But in NcSoft hands, no. I have no confidence in them. So the money that Ncsoft would have gained in monthly subscription, went to Chris Roberts "Star Citizen".
This way I get a game I want (ok about 2 years until it gets here, but it will come), made by Developers I know can deliver, funded primarily by the playerbase (Crowdfunding) and not coorporations.
Since I had two VIP accounts here, I figure my gaming budget can support two games on a more casual basis at any given time. That way, if one gets shut down, I still have a game to play and will start looking for a replacement for the deceased game. -

Quote:Game development in action at this web site. How much does it cost to start up a game development studio these days?
Chris Roberts (who is a big deal in the industry - the creator of Wing Commander) is crowdfunding a game to be completely independent of funding/control from corporate lackwits. The funding target was $2 million. They are currently almost to $7 million.
P.S. I've reserved my ship! -
Quote:Possibly just the fact of being Disney. If Disney actually expressed an interest (which I think is highly unlikely), the possibility of being able to issue a press release that mentions both NCSoft and Disney might get NCSoft thinking.I posed this in the other thread: why make a pitch to Disney at all? I thought you guys already had interested groups willing to buy the game, and the problem was that NCSoft wouldn't sell. What do you think Disney is going to do that the other parties haven't already done?

feh.
I recorded the message, loaded it into audio editing software and 'read' the dots and dashes from the waveform.
BTW, there are plenty of Morse utilities online and translator programs. I just felt my way would be faster than listening to the message a bit at a time and decoding it (and it was). -
Quote:FYI, a lot of lag and crashing that I experienced is directly related to objects in the Innsmouth Academy. If I stay clear of the campus (until they fix it), I can play for hours without a single crash. Near the Academy, I'll crash every 30-60 minutes. There are a lot of bugs in TSW, and my machine can only run it at lowest graphic options (the same PC that runs GW2 at full graphics). I've had a few lockups and crashes to desktop, as well as a couple in-game bugs.
Quote:The investigation missions are flat-out insane. You have to be a real Illuminati to enjoy unravelling some of this stuff.
I just got through an arc in the newbie area (Kingsmouth) that required me to understand clues in Latin, know a passage from the Bible in Latin, know a musical composition (and how to read musical notation) well enough to replace a missing section of it, and as a bonus it required me to write down a page of instructions I got at the beginning of the mission because I could not access them again after that. If I got anything wrong, I died.
BTW, if you're teamed, failing that puzzle isn't a killer. I was on my tank build with my brother in the hallway (outside the effect) on a healing build. -

Quote:Wow, I won the lottery but only got $200 million. It would be nice but collecting the winnings sucks. Either you get something lame like 50K a year paid to you over 400 years or they take more than half of it for "tax purposes" :<
Either way, you'd never see the full 425 mil
Sucks to be me? -
Quote:My first thought was Cold-Hearted *******, but that doesn't sound heroic at all.In every situation, our Hero pops out his handy-dandy Smartphone and runs through the numbers so that he can be heroic AND fiscally responsible. This guy isn't about getting endorsement or self-promotion, he just wants to save the most number of people with finite resources. And he never leaves home without finishing at least one financial forecast.
But what would we call him? -
-
-
Probably not.
Firstly, that would be an extra expense that the game would have to shoulder on an ongoing basis.
Second, it would leave the game in a position where NCSoft could pull the plug on it AGAIN. Most former players would NOT return under those conditions. -
