It seemed like a better plan than unlearning 7-1/2 years of keyboard mashing.

BTW, since it seems I never mentioned it:
My character name in TSW is Mythmaster (since the name I wanted was taken).
On the bright side, my forum handle over there is Ironblade.

Yes. When the prices started to tank, I stocked up on ATIO's..... just in case.

That's how it starts. Next thing we know you'll be dupin rares.

Exactly. It only refers to the NAME. The intellectual property is a different story.

When I have used the market this past week, I had to close and re-open the window on more than one occasion (but not EVERY occasion). So it's entirely possible that changing your settings did nothing and it would have opened correctly anyway.

This way I get a game I want (ok about 2 years until it gets here, but it will come), made by Developers I know can deliver, funded primarily by the playerbase (Crowdfunding) and not coorporations.
Interestingly, that's how I decided what level to join Star Citizen at - the size of my refund from NCSoft.

Since I had two VIP accounts here, I figure my gaming budget can support two games on a more casual basis at any given time. That way, if one gets shut down, I still have a game to play and will start looking for a replacement for the deceased game.

There's a global channel by that name (CoH-Refugees) in The Secret World.

Game development in action at this web site.

Chris Roberts (who is a big deal in the industry - the creator of Wing Commander) is crowdfunding a game to be completely independent of funding/control from corporate lackwits. The funding target was $2 million. They are currently almost to $7 million.

    P.S. I've reserved my ship!

Possibly just the fact of being Disney. If Disney actually expressed an interest (which I think is highly unlikely), the possibility of being able to issue a press release that mentions both NCSoft and Disney might get NCSoft thinking.

Yes, but expecting that people would do it anyway, they programmed a really nice animation for when you take them out.

I recorded the message, loaded it into audio editing software and 'read' the dots and dashes from the waveform.

BTW, there are plenty of Morse utilities online and translator programs. I just felt my way would be faster than listening to the message a bit at a time and decoding it (and it was).

FYI, a lot of lag and crashing that I experienced is directly related to objects in the Innsmouth Academy. If I stay clear of the campus (until they fix it), I can play for hours without a single crash. Near the Academy, I'll crash every 30-60 minutes.

I just got through an arc in the newbie area (Kingsmouth) that required me to understand clues in Latin, know a passage from the Bible in Latin, know a musical composition (and how to read musical notation) well enough to replace a missing section of it, and as a bonus it required me to write down a page of instructions I got at the beginning of the mission because I could not access them again after that. If I got anything wrong, I died.
Yeah, the puzzles are astonishingly challenging. I never attempt the puzzle missions alone. I usually team with my brother who has a PhD in particle physics. He knew, off the top of his head, WHICH VERSION OF THE BIBLE you had to use for that puzzle from the clues. We can both read sheet music. We're both programmers. And we both agreed those puzzles are crazy hard - but in a good way. There's no guessing. If you know how to do serious research online, you can solve them. I really think you want multiple brains working on it, though.

BTW, if you're teamed, failing that puzzle isn't a killer. I was on my tank build with my brother in the hallway (outside the effect) on a healing build.

    Probably not.
Firstly, that would be an extra expense that the game would have to shoulder on an ongoing basis.
Second, it would leave the game in a position where NCSoft could pull the plug on it AGAIN. Most former players would NOT return under those conditions.
