  1. Loved WC: Privateer, think I'll give this a whirl when it launches.
  2. Going to miss this place, thanks for all the fun and memories. From Sho's blindside tackles, the talk of comics, anime, and everything geekdom, working on my search-fu, tips and tricks. I wish everyone here, past and present, well in their life, good fortune and good victory, and maybe, hopefully our paths will cross again.
  3. According to this article. Episode VII will resurrect Darth Vader and cast him as the main villain.
  4. Just a rumor, but MTV geek is reporting that Disney is in secret talks to acquire Hasbro. If it's true and if both parties agree to the buy out then it would give Disney the rights to Transformers, GI Joe, MLP, and every other Hasbro property. If it's true seems like the House of Mouse is on a mad shopping spree. Wonder if anyone can convince them to buy the City of Heroes IP
  5. So found out that George Lucas has ok'ed the sell of Lucasfilms and all of its IP to Disney for a nice tidy sum of 4.5 billion dollars. I guess I could nerdrage here, and maybe call for the heads of someone on a pike or turned into a chalice of some kind, but I'll be honest here. After thinking it over, I have to wonder if this is truly a bad thing. Honestly has Lucas done anything innovative, respectful, or even something close to decent with the Star Wars franchise, and my answer is no. It's been one overt, blatent cash grab after another, while slapping the faces of fans over and over. Quite honestly this news gives me a glimmer of hope, not a lot, but a glimmer that SW fans will no longer have to endure ham-fisted CGI edits over and over, thinly veiled aliens that are nothing more than horribly bad racist caricatures, and the piss-poor back-peddling retcons to the original material. So lets see what the House of Mouse will do, because quite honestly Lucas has driven the franchise so far into the ground that it really can't get any worse than it already is.
  6. Fortunately I have all 3 on DVD and 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray. I remember Bruce Campbell dropping hints of a new Evil Dead movie. Thought it was going to be a sequel, but later revealed to be a remake. Still the trailer looks great, also it was mentioned that the main character will be female. Not sure if it's a new character for the remake or a rule 63 version of Ash.
  7. Not sure if it was posted, but here's the teaser trailer for the Evil Dead remake set for a 2013 release.
  8. Just a heads up. The Venture Bros Halloween special airs this Sunday (10/28/12) at 11:30pm Eastern time.

Already an article on Newsarama that seems to think that it's just Slott trying to troll and mislead the fanbase. Honestly I really woudn't mind O'Hara taking up the mantle of Spider-Man.
  10. Highly recommend taking this one with a very microscopic grain of salt. Supposedly this tweet was put out, and then deleted

But it creates the speculation that Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 is the Superior Spider-Man. Some people think it might be likely since last weeks Marvel Now Point One involved Agent Nick Fury dealing with a time traveler. So it might be possible that Miguel is some how becomes stranded in our timeline.
  11. So according to this article. Issue 13 of Superman has Clark Kent quitting the Daily Planet and opting to report news via online blog posts. Not really sure on what to make of it. Think I'm going to wait a bit and let this bit settle in.

Namely, that Steph Brown was in the background scene of YJ as one of the abductees in Saturday's episode. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but an interesting little tidbit if that's true.
Yes, Stephanie Brown aka the Spoiler did make an appearance in the new episode.
  13. You can watch 'em here

Also here's a list of speculation of why Cartoon Network pulled the plug all of a sudden.

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/10/...just-vanished/

I heard something that was close to rumored speculation reason #4. The rumor I heard, CN was getting fed up with having to pay licensing fees to DC Comics. They didn't see why they had to pay licensing fees when both CN and DC are owned by parent company Warner Bros. They pulled DC Nation as a form of protest.
  14. If you're wanting to still follow the adventures of Kid Loki he will now be one of the characters in the Marvel Now Young Avengers relaunch. Journey into Mystery will now have Lady Sif as the new main character.

The thing that made feel so sorry for Simon in that episode is that everyone who watched the videos (Finn, Jake, Bemo, PB) should have caught on and realized the tragedy that happened. Instead they just see it as something weird and sad on the Ice King's part, and I really can't fault them for that since all they know about their world is the world that's there. Any thing about the old world is just vague stories passed down through old ruins and rumors. I'm sure that the Ice King could be helped if someone just knocks the crown of his head and keep them separated from each other. Then again there's not much for Simon in the land of Oooo and makes you wonder if he really wants to come back to a world were all his loved ones are dead and gone.
  16. There was also the Christmas/Holiday episode that focused around the Ice King's origins.
  17. Some more bits that came out during NYCC. Slott said that the focus of stories for Superior Spider-Man will be on the dark and weird, but not the grim-gritty you would see like in Punisher or Batman. He referenced 'Death of Captain Stacy', 'Death of Gwen Stacy' and 'Kraven's Last Hunt' as examples of dark Spider-Man tales.
  18. The episodes of YJ (Before the Dawn) and GL (Steam Lantern) that were supposed to air are on itunes. Not sure if they're still there, but you can see it there. If you're not a fan of itunes, if you dig hard enough you can probably find it on some stream sites.

Hoping that next weeks episodes will also show up on iTunes, but have a feeling that these 2 popping up were a fluke.
  19. Here's the cover to issue 2

700 will be the last issue for Amazing Spider-Man. According to Slott, 700 will have something very horrible and tragic happen to Peter that he will have to go into hiding to avoid the fan rage that the issue will produce.

Lots speculation on what it is. There's speculation it will involve Doctor Octopus since issue 699 has him in it, and the solicit for it states that Doc Ock enacts his final revenge on Spider-Man in the issue. 700 will probably have Peyer dealing with that act of revenge.

Right now there's a thread in the /co/ of 4chan posting a theory that Doc Ock amputates the arms and legs off of Peter. Forcing him to get cybernetic replacements.
  20. Looks like Slott's twitter is getting bumrushed from angry fans. He put up a tweet saying that he was misquoted and what he said is being paraphrased with different meanings. Make of it what you will.
  21. Dan Slott did an interview at this year's New York Comic-Con and 2 interesting points were revealed about the Marvel Now Superior Spider-Man relaunch.

    1. Peter Parker is not the Superior Spider-Man

    2. MJ and Spider-Man will be getting back together

Personally I'm just bummed out with this news because Marvel has done this story arc to death before, hell just about every comic publisher has done this before. Pretty much its just a question of how long before Peter reclaims the mantle. Slott has gone on record saying that ASM 700, the final issue before the relaunch, will end with something drastic and terrible being done to the Peter Parker/Spider-Man that he'll have to go into hiding, but does it really matter. All it is just some hokey setup to have someone else take over for a while.

    -Edit-

Also forget, this Spider-Man will be grim-dark

    Dishonored

    Enjoying it so far
  23. Hopefully they're not using that script that involves the Lone Ranger and Tonto going up against were-creatures.
  24. Disney just released the trailer to their Lone Ranger movie coming out 2013.
