Thank you for 8 great years of geek information, discussion and lively debates. Some of my favorite moments in CoH actually happened out of CoH and happened right here. Thank you to all of those that took part in our big threads on various books, television shows or movies: especially Lost and Heroes. Thank you for introducing me to so many things I may have never tried before without your recommendations: specifically and especially Firefly, Dr. Who and A Song of Ice and Fire. And thanks for indulging me with things like Mental's Bionic Woman Synopsis Theater and other fits of silliness that came out of my head and into this forum.

I'm not one for long goodbyes and I don't want to mention names out of fear of missing someone. You've all been a big part of my life and I thank you, sincerely, for the opportunity of being part of this little portion of the CoH community. Best of luck to all of you after the sunset and safe and happy travels wherever you may go. My small group are migrating over to SWTOR for the immediate future and there is a Mental Maiden (spelled correctly over there) running around CO every once and a while. I hope the day will come when many of us are together again talking, gibbering, debating and laughing over all things nerdy.

(One last time: Hickman! Hickman! Hickman!)

Yeah I'll miss this section of the forums the most...

This is where I heard all the good rumors and saw the cool trailers that I haven't seen/heard of!

That and I could always ask "who would win" type of questions without having to resort to wikipedia and doing the work myself

So the real question is.....

Where do we all go from here?

Here and the brute forum probably contain 75% of my posts: I spent almost as much time in this forum as I did in game, for all the reasons mentioned.

The forum rekindled my interest in comics (not enough to start collecting again, but enough to read around and find out what's going on), introduced me to a few web shows that I watch to this day, and always provided a link or two I could bookmark under 'silly' and show my girlfriend (to varying degrees of risking bodily harm).

It's been fun, heroes. In the spirit of a noble and ancient culture, "So long, and thanks for all the links."

Yeah, I'm going to miss this place and Paragon City.

Yeah, same here. I got a lot of news of the geek-kind here as I don't go to a lot of websites (very few in fact). I didn't have to with this forum.

This was a unique place on the Internet.

I don't think lightning can strike twice.

I spent a lot of time on this board (for much the same reason Glen did) and I will miss it.

Aye yup. This place hit at the right time with the right people to get it going. And it lasted for quite a while. We had people come and people go, but the...soul...for lack of a better word, kept on with it. Well, up until the point when they decided to nuke the forum that is. After that, it, IMO, lost a lot of its heart.

But thank you everyone. It was a great ride and something that I'm sure I'll remember for the rest of my life.

I agree and I'll never forget this place.

I'm not the most vocal person (points to post count), and at times I failed, miserably, at getting across at what I wanted to say, which usually ended up with me getting smacked up side the head by a mod or forum goer in a pm.

Since I have to work and won't be here when they flip the switch and I'm not really good at saying goodbye, so...... It's been a fun ride and thank you for all the great times. /em salute

Going to miss this place, thanks for all the fun and memories. From Sho's blindside tackles, the talk of comics, anime, and everything geekdom, working on my search-fu, tips and tricks. I wish everyone here, past and present, well in their life, good fortune and good victory, and maybe, hopefully our paths will cross again.

I am really going to miss this forum. City of Heroes was the first internet community I ever joined. Lurking and engaging in conversations has taught me a lot, and has expanded my world in so many ways I can scarcely begin to count them.

It's funny. The closure announcement made me sad, but didn't bring me to tears. But just writing this has me choked up and my eyes watering. It is far beyond my ability to articulate how much this place means to me.

Thank you all, so very much.

Goodbye, I guess.
