Is it just me or does the Narration make it sounds like a Sci-fi film?

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.

Johnny Depp as Tonto makes no sense. I'm sorry, it just doesn't. Be like having Denzel Washington play Willie Wonka in the remake. OR the original.

Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised by Depp's amazeballs performance capability. He is one of my favorites, to be honest, but... I just simply don't see this role for him.

Although... the bit with him riding the train from the underneath at the end of the trailer DOES have me intriqued... probably will Netflix/Redbox it though.

Mike

/Probably would have improved the remake Wonak if Denzel was him. That would have been fun to see, I think, in a sort of "can he do that?" kinda way. Movie was... meh.
//Depp, though, as usual, was awesome. He is really good at his craft... making odd characters work, and work well.

I'm definitely intrigued.
I'd heard about this film a while ago and forgot that it was coming out. I remember Depp talking about it in an interview somewhere.
I don't have much worry about his role within it, although, I do feel a bit for the few actors that would have been more fitting due to their true heritage (ain't it a kicker when a rare role like that comes along and gets taken by a caucasian anyway... let alone Johnny Depp, heh!).

This trailer, though, has me a little more interested than just my original interest due to Depp's role (and, yeah, what he said in the interview made me interested in seeing him play the role). From what I remember, he took it rather seriously (not that this would come as a surprise).

Now we just need to finally see him as Pancho Villa in a Terry Gilliam production of Don Quixote...

Hopefully they're not using that script that involves the Lone Ranger and Tonto going up against were-creatures.

The movie better have this somewhere in it, or it's not Lone Ranger

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

If it has this wouldn't that make it an old Bugs Bunny cartoon?

Considering that Depp is part Native American, it makes sense to me.

This complaint reminds me of the bellyaching about Ben Kingsley playing Gandhi, when in fact Sir Ben is half Indian and Kingsley's father actually grew up in the exact same village as Gandhi.

Besides, this is likely going to be more along the lines of PotC (same writers and director) or the Antonio Banderas Zorro movies (same writers), so it's not something to get worked up over.

I could see Morgan Freeman as a Gene-Wilder-esque Wonka...

I... did not know this. Thank you for educating me today, as once again I have learned something.

However... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_....E2.80.931970s

It's his great-grandmother. I have a great-grandmother who was Native American too, as it happens. But it's like 1/8 of me or something like that I think. But I still stand by it... I know he'll be good, but it just seems a little off that he'd get the part, honestly.

Mike

/Must be his draw... no wait, that didn't help Dark Shadows.

It's brought to you by the people who did the PotC films. I almost thought it was another Tim Burton film when I saw HBC in the trailer.
