I've taken off the 30th. I will start playin' after work on the 29th, and NOT STOP until they kick me out Dec 1, 2a CST.
I still have some ways to go with Chillsea, my only ever Blaster that's going to make it to 50, come hell or high water, and then when she's Dinged and Celetrained at Ms. Liberty, I'll be running whatever floats my boat. She'll be my 8th ever 50, which pales in comparison to some, but... 1 per year, I'm ok with that.
But the last couple of hours will probably be spent doing what Heat's gonna do, in that I'll be chattin' on PinnBadges or whatever other channel I might have up. During that, I'll be running around EVERY ZONE you can without being instanced, Blue, Red, and Gold, with Brawling Humiliator, terrorizing every single thing he can put his might Brawl of Win upon their face. Over and over. Until they expir...er, are defeated.
I dunno how long that'll take. I don't even know which zone he'll wind up being in when The Dreaded Event happens... but I do know that I am seriously hoping that he is in midswing to defeat a +2 Boss when it happens.
Not that the game will stop in midswing, but *I'll* know it was in midswing....
That's the Plan. It will happen. I don't take days off to miss a Plan. -
Nothing. I'll watch with perverse satisfaction as NCSoft dries up and crumbles as they continue to piss people off. Kim himself could care less as he has already banked plenty offa the company, I imagine, selling his stock at the higher price he did to Nexon, so nothing I or anyone does will matter... he's still gonna drive Ferraris or whatever he chooses.

I'm curious, does the EULA differ from the NA to the EU? All I see in it is "NCSoft", not "NCSoft:ParticularRegion" or anything that would say it's with a particular division... So if you agreed to it and played the game, the same rules apply, excepting of course any 'except if local laws are violated'... in which case.. what law is violated if your account information, needed to go with the game so you can follow it, is transferred, possibly less the credit card information, maybe?
I imagine in that case, we'd all be asked to put in a new set of payment information if we wanted to continue.
Then again, IANA Interational Lawyer, so I really don't know how that'd work. I know it'd just be transferred here in the States, because we lost that right a while back in terms of businesses pr parts of buisnesses being bought/sold... that info goes with. I know my email account's company/info has been sold twice, and they never asked me about if I had an issue... it just kept working.
Which is all I asked of it, really. And so far, no regrets/concerns due to the two sales.
Same is true for mortgages, they just move to the new company, and all your info goes with.
I'm really curious how that would have worked in the EU... -

On the one hand, they saved it for us. Yay.
On the other hand, they destroyed any future for it, and unceremoniously fired everyone. That's... not a good thing to support with my money.
I'd probably have to walk to make myself feel better, to be honest. I don't know what they could do to fix that. Except sell it, and hope the new home makes moar content. -
Indeed, thanks to the Talsors for the grand job of hosting the MSRs. All the ones I was able to get in on were just spectacular, and I even set a bomb in one!
I did taunting in previous runs, but this last one, I just stayed in the bowl and had at it.

If it's sold. If they structure it that way. It's entirely possible, after the game is shut down, that the customer data could be a non-factor, and JUST the IP will get sold, along with the code and/or hardware to run it...
... but everyone would start over. The old data would NOT be coming along. This is possible number 2, and is only an option due to the shutting down. If it were rolling along, this isn't on the table.

And that's pretty much it, I'd gather. But then, I'm no lawyer. Easiest analogy... AT&T buys another, smaller, telco. AT&T now owns all your stuff that you had with that telco. Everything works the same, no action needed by you.
Or that telco shuts down. You go to AT&T, get the same service, but have to start all over.

Ah, ok. There's this one thing.
I never, ever, did allow my insufferable hatred for the various things so very WRONG with AE to subside, so that I might have actually completed writing/making the Saga of the Sisters Dawn, a playable MArc where you, the player, would run through 5 missions to find out just how Cerise fled Paragon to become a villain, how Ruby became the Heroine, and how Rose, desperate to get her two sisters to reconcile, wound up in Praetoria and had to fight her way back to Paragon, and a changed woman because of it.
These are three of my 50s on Pinnacle. Ruby was first, when Villains came out, so it begat Cerise, and when Rogue came out, that made Rose happen. And the bios were made/changed to fit the three of them.
The story's in my head, but fleshing it out in the game... and having to work around the so-very-messed-up outdoors situations... I had part of it written, but not with Rose in mind. I've changed that story to fit Rose in, and I gotta say, it'd be a pretty good arc, I'd hope... It would be more story telling than actual mission, but it would have challenges, to be sure, to keep going.
Yeah. That I can say is a regret. I really wish I had the time to do this... I may yet attempt, but it'll be hard if I try. Truly though... That's my one single regret, that it's not likely to see the light of day.

While I don't have BBC America, I will damn well find a way to watch Dr. Who so I can see Jenna-Louise Coleman play her part. And in these little clips, she looked like she's got a good rapport with Matt Smith, and... she's hella good lookin' to boot. More of her will be a good thing.

Getting a character to 50. I got in on the game really late, so I never 50'd any of my characters. I probably could if I jumped into game right now with my highest level toon and grinded like crazy, but I don't want my last memory of the game being a grindfest.
A more prominent regret is not doing more taskforces/etc. I was mostly a solo guy, and only in the last month or so found out I could do taskforces as a free player. Not being able to send tells also hindered my efforts to get into groups being formed for them at times.
I'm currently at 30 with my water/ice blaster, and it's been mainly solo mission running. There's been a couple of teams here and there, and any TF I can get on, I'm in, but it's not even a grind, as I've been going through the FW/NW arcs, and doing them at my own pace.
It's not grinding, but... I'm having a fun time doing the content I've not done yet, when The Project of Brawling Humilator was taking up the first part of the year, and then Thing of Bigness and the IO/Incarnate march, before this plug pulling thing happened...
So I'm catching up. AND levelling up. Chillsea will be my first ever 50 Blaster, and my 8th 50 overall, all of whom are part of Pinnacle.
And when she's done? I'll maybe do some catching up on Redside to see some of that content I missed/leveled out of.
And do the Wesley Phipps missions... And maybe finally get around to the Television ones...
So do it. Just do it. Pretend you're in a Nike commercial.
And I regret NOTHING in regards to CoH except not having enough money to have bought CoH from the grubby mitts of NCSoft in the first place, before they even TRIED to buy it/sponsor it from Cryptic, thereby ensuring that this dark day of Dec 1,2012 never happens.
If only there were a real-life Ouroborus system I could use to achieve that.

I'll be looking in on the Titan network, as it's probably the best location for any news after this is shut down, as as they have a conglomeration list of other sites there too (it's in the threads.)
I also will be doing the occasional google searches for keywords to see what goes on, but other than that... family or motorcycles or, I gotta say it, the J.O.B. will take up mah time.
Which is fine. A little melancholy, but fine.

I'm halfway to another 50, level wise. Probably 3/4-5/8th the way there time/effort wise.
