Weekly Rikti Ship Raid!

Greetings Pinnacle!

The Talsorian Guard super group invites you to join us quell the Rikti numbers in the Rikti War Zone every Sunday night! This is a server-wide event, available to both heroes and villains. You can access the Rikti War Zone via any Vanguard building in the game (the purple "V" on your map). They can be found in: Atlas Park, Founders Falls, and Peregrine Island for Heroes; in Cap Au Diable, St. Martial, and Grandville for Villains. Characters of ANY LEVEL may participate, although the higher your character level, the better you will fare.

This week's raid: 9:30pm Eastern / 8:30pm Central, 11/25/2012

Helpful hints/tips to avoid missing out and/or disconnecting:

• Get there early. The league fills fast, and there is a zone limit for how many characters can be there at one time.
• Turn down your graphics. The Rikti Mothership is cool looking, but you don't need to see it and its spawns in hi-def! Turn down your graphics settings a tad for the event.
• Zoom your camera out. Not only does this give you a wider perspective of nearby enemies, but your computer will have fewer details to render up close.
• Avoid excessive chatter. If you are someone who tends to have connection issues, at least with events of that size, don't chat as much. One less thing for your processor to try and manage.
• Turn off visible player names for the duration of the event. Menu-->Options-->Windows Tab-->Under player section, turn "Player Names" to something other than "Show Always."

No, but you have to be at least level 35 in order to join Vanguard and get Vanguard Merits from the raid.

Thanks to all those who made it out last night. We had a league of 41 people, over 5 full teams! And it felt a lot smoother than last week. If you did not make it out, you missed a good time. But hey, you can join us next week! The OP has been updated. Have a good week, all!

Last night, we filled the Rikti War Zone to it's player limit! 6 teams, meaning we reached the League size limit(!), with door sitters waiting to get in. Good showing Pinnacle! I am sorry to those who had connection problems and whose spots were taken by the time they got back in. I have updated the OP with some tips on how to decrease your chances of a disconnect, and welcome anyone with other hints to post them here.

Great showing again this week, Pinnacle! Once again, we had a full league, with others door-sitting to try and get in the zone if someone was unfortunate enough to disconnect. I myself had a disconnect issue this week! But minus those nuisances, the raid was a success and we all had fun, so thanks for coming out.

I would also like to personally thank those who took a second to say that they had fun. Makes it all the more fun for me to lead knowing people are having a blast.

They are Sunday nights, Mike, not Fridays. The date on the main post is set for December 11th.

Nice job last night, Pinnacle! Great turn-out, as always. I apologize for the early formation of the league, I know some people missed out because they figured they had more time than they did (according to the schedule). We will be more adherent to the posted times in the future.

Also, it should be noted, it is unlikely there will be a raid on the evening of the 25th, as many people will most likely be spending the time elsewhere. It is TBD whether this will also hold true for New Years Day.

TBD for New Years? People playing drunk and not really sure whats going on....isn't that just another day on Pinn?

5 full teams is an unusually low turnout? I've seen 3 full teams do a Rikti raid before.

For this week, my schedule has been absolutely full. Sunday night is still up in the air for me, so I am not sure I will be able to make it. I was able to make it out Sunday night after all, and from the looks of things, so were many of you! We had a decent showing for a holiday weekend, not to mention a very smooth run across the board. I would specifically like to thank everyone for minimizing league chat. I can only speak for myself, but the lack of extraneous chat seems to definitely be lowering the number of lag spikes and disconnects. Hope to see you all this week!

I am sorry I missed the previous raid. Real life happens sometimes :P

But I understand that Talsor Blade Dancer (@PhoebusApollo) led it to success, for which I am glad. And it sounds like you met many of the newest recruits to the Talsorian Guard, which also makes me happy. I look forward to leading you all next week!

Great raid last night! We had nearly a full league, and I saw a number of players whom I've never met before. Lots of fun, and I am glad people enjoy consistently coming out to these, it makes it all the more enjoyable for me. Hope to see you all again this coming week!

Rrrrrrockin' raid last night Pinnacle! A full league, with all the lower frame rates that come with it! No complaints here though, it was a very smooth run. I especially liked the 4 or so Vanguard HVASs that were rampaging around the center bowl. Well done all! See you next week.

Definitely one of the best raids we have had! The attack on the grates and the bomb placement was very well coordinated, and fast too. A big "thank you" to those who helped get that done so that everyone got their fair share of credit for defeating U'Kon Gr'ai. 6 full teams, and only a handful of disconnects. Very fun night, Pinnacle! If you were there, thanks for coming out!

Was a great raid, with just over 900 Vmerits, might have been my biggest haul yet.

Don't know who all were herding but they were bring in some pretty good piles, which i really don't recall seeing that much before I have tried gathering them up with my brute before, but with my graphic set so low i end up stuck on crap most of the time.

I've debated picking up taunt on Talsor Tech, cause hopping around hitting them with ST attacks and then trying to lead back to the bowl just doesn't work so well.

Paint me surprised! Though I could not attend, I was told that we had enough players to fill roughly 4.5 full teams. I admit, I expected even lower numbers due to the Super Bowl (the reason I was not there). But hey, glad that we could still make it happen! Next week should be back to normal, hope to see you there!
