Weekly Rikti Ship Raid!

Hooray for a successful raid last night! Had a nearly-full league, and there was definitely a positive energy from everyone. Or maybe it was just my excitement at being back after my 2-week hiatus. Either way, I did not DC once (yes!) and was glad to be back at the helm. I had a great time, so thanks for coming out, Pinnacle!

Despite being at the raid last night, I do not know how it ended! I had a hard crash and by the time I got the computer back up and running... well let's just say it was 30+ minutes of fiddling.

I do not know why this is suddenly such a problem for me. I used to have a DC once in a while, but this is becoming a weekly problem and I do not know why. I've tried every trick in the book for helping with this, but it keeps happening. If it continues much longer, I may have to stop leading these simply because I am obviously not leading them if I cannot stay online! If anyone has any ideas why this might be happening more often now than 8 months ago when I started this, I'm all ears.

have you checked your hard drive for errors? i had a drive going bad and had a few bad sectors, even after having the sectors marked bad that contained game files, the updater check would not pick up on the bad files. had to delete them and download new ones

Thanks to those who came out to the raid last night! We had a good full league. And things were going so smoothly, I decided to try my luck in the bowl. 4 consecutive DCs later, I realized that was a mistake...

Afterward, I received a couple other recommendations on on how to improve my connection, since I am nearly positive it is not my machine considering I had far fewer problems as little as six months ago. I will be trying those next week. If things do not work out... well, I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. As it is, I appreciate everyone's patience when things go haywire.

Fantastic raid last night! The grates were bombed in what felt like record time. We could do a bit better at steering clear of the grates in general though, I noticed a number of people go down courtesy of the explosions. However, the bowl phase went very smoothly. A big shout out to those taunting Rikti from the perimeter. There was a constant influx of enemies last night. And to top it all off: I didn't DC once! Let's hope these last attempted fixes stick.

Good raid last night, Pinnacle. I have to admit, I was surprised we ended up with a full league! Just a few minutes before invites started, we only had enough present at Point Du Hoc for about 2 teams, but then there was a surge of players into the zone, so good showing to you all! Again, I apologize for my temporary absence during the raid. I was experiencing Toddler-ocalypse (a.k.a. my 3-year-old and 5-year-old cousins currently staying in my house). But the raid seemed to go smoothly enough, so I guess it is all good.

Sorry I missed the raid this week! Real life rang unexpectedly. But I hear the raid went well and that there was a decent turn-out, so I am glad it was a smooth evening. I hope to return this coming week!

So I heard the raid last night was a little...different than usual, and I'd like to posit a guess as to why:

I am sorry to hear that the raid was so rough on Sunday! Off week, I guess. I am also sorry for my absence, "life" has been been very busy as of late. Thankfully, I have vacation coming up, which will be great for my mental health (what's left of it anyway). Unfortunately, that means I will be away from the game, and miss the August 5th raid. BUT, despite the impending vacation, my schedule this week looks a little more open, so I should be able to squeeze in some good play time this week, and I will DEFINITELY be leading this Sunday's raid. Good raid last night, Pinnacle! It was a very smooth run, and thanks to all the newcomers who followed instructions, I hope you enjoyed it.

FOR NEXT WEEK, since it is an invasion weekend, it seems only fitting that we should end it with an all-out brutal assault on the Rikti, so BRING YOUR BEST CHARACTER! Let's see what it is like to take out the Mothership with the best that Pinnacle has to offer!

From what I have been told, the raid-to-end-all-Rikti went fantastically! 6 teams, all kicking Rikti butt, with enough perimeter herding that the Rikti may as well have been cattle. Well-played. Thanks for complying with the idea, Pinnacle!

Great job this week, Pinnacle! That was a fitting way to end the 2xp Weekend! 6 full teams, with a good amount of overflow for the zone. For those who did not make it into the zone, I cannot stress this enough:

Get to the zone early to reserve your spot!

I hate turning people away, I would have no problem running an 8 team raid, but the zone can only accommodate so many players (probably for the best). Hopefully, this was a one-time occurrence!

Last night was fun, Pinnheads! Bombing went very smoothly, U'kon Gr'ai went down quickly, and a big "thank you" goes out to the taunters who were combing the perimeter of the ship as we had a steady influx of Rikti for the duration of the Bowl phase. Good form!

A very smooth run last night, Pinnacle. Sorry about my one DC, but considering my computer was trying to render a league of 48 characters and more than 40 pets across the league, can you really hold it against me? Yes, that's right, we had NINE Masterminds in the league last night. I've never seen that many, even after Beast Mastery's release. If they all had been 50, we would have had more pets than actual characters

On the plus side, the first 5 bombs all were set within a 5 second time span. That was a neat accidental coordination, so well done there. And we managed to get the sixth set and detonated despite an premature taunt of U'kon Gr'ai. All in all, a very good run Pinnacle!

Last night was a fitting "beginning of the end." We had a full league and a fairly smooth run. More DCs than I've seen in a long time though.

I want to take a moment and thank anyone who has ever come out for these. I think I speak on behalf of the entire Talsorian Guard when I say it has been an honor to host these weekly raids, and you honor us with your attendance and consistent gratitude. We will continue to host these every week until the servers shut down.

Also, SAVE THE DATE: The Talsorian Guard's anniversary is November 12th, so the weekend before (the 9th-11th) we will be hosting an entire weekend of activities, both in celebration of our one (and only ) year of existence, but also as a final send off for the server itself!

These MSR's have been a blast and it amazes me how each and every week we seem to have someone new on these raids. I think that speaks VOLUMES to not just the Talsors, but to the game itself. 8+ years strong and still getting new people into the game, even with the news that hit us all on Friday.

Again, thank you Winter and the rest of the Talsorian Guard. If only there were some way myself and others could pay tribute to you for all you've done.

Sorry I had to miss last night, all. Admittedly, I was seeing Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX, and it was awesome, so I can only be partially upset.

Unfortunately, it seems that I will be missing three in a row, a fact I am not happy about since we currently only have a finite number of these left. This week, I have what I like to call "unavoidable familial obligations" a.k.a. a family gathering that, if missed, will result in an onslaught of guilt and such. The following week, I am out of town. That does not suck nor rock, it simply is what it is.

I should be on plenty during the week though, so I hope to team with you all then!

This weekend is the LAST WEEKEND IN A ROW that I will have to be absent (I will be on a plane while the raid is taking place). But as usual, one or more of our members will be there to lead it.

A bit thank you to Talsors Aegis, Warmech, and Stellarum for stepping up and leading the raid this week when real life invaded the usual leader's lives. I am guessing it is a busy time for many considering it was only about 5 teams this week. But I am told it went smoothly.

After three weeks in another dimension, having seen all manner of loon and terror, and running for my life numerous times, Vox has returned. I told you I'd be back.
