Long as I did this right, the servers will go off at 9:00 am December 1st your time.
  2. I've been here for over 3 years and cept for my thread on the Pinn sever forum I've been content to just lurk with the occasional post but figured with it down to the last few days might as well make my first and probably only thread here my goodbye post.

This wasn't my first MMO, and won't be the last, but it was without a doubt the best faults and all and a big part of the was the people here. Like quite a few others here I've been able to log on and with the help of fellow players deal with Real Life issues, health both personal and family among other things, even if it was just by teamng to have something to do other than sitting and worrying about things I can't do anything about.

I also have a great deal of appreciation for alot of people that has helped me in game over the years to go from the newb I was to the noob I became, ones who got me into global channels to ones who helped show me how to play certain AT's, and I'm happy to call quite a few players I met here friends. For my time on Protector where I got my first 50 (a blaster which goes to explain a bit about my vengebait frame of mind) and was taken in by a group of people with the patience to put up with me. @Blaze Rocker for my first Channel invite, @Silver.wolf for letting me into his group, the first that made me really feel like part of a greater thing, @Zapper Girl who kinda took me under her wing for a while to teach me tips & tricks, @Layla Rei and many more who became my regular teammates during my time there, and who still talked me back for another TF every so often.

Then my trip back home to Pinnacle, where I was welcomed to the drunken family of PinnBadges. It was really like coming home, @Tsugaru, @Zirilion, @Lemur Lad among others helping me not only become an active member of the community but fine tune my game playing. For the whole channel for giving my yuks & yucks, teams and just conversations that probably is best to never repeat again.

No matter what was going on, I always knew there was a place I could depend on to give me laughs and would understand references that tends to go unnoticed in my day-to-day life. A place where friends could hang out and play, to arrest people by beating the crap out of them, a place where the spandex companies were the most powerful companies to work for. I know there is a hail mary play going and while I really hope it works, but just not sure, I feel that I can't put off my goodbyes any longer. We had some really good times, though my one biggest regret is that I didn't get into the game sooner.

May the wind always flutter your cape, and your spandex never ride.

So long, and thanks for all the fish (even Mako) heroes and Villians

'Getting' drunk? What makes you think they'll go into the 30th sober?
  5. My first toon, Heat Guard, on my home server, Pinn, in Atlas either ontop of city hall or by Ms. Liberty, talking on the 3 main global channels I always have up.

Only conflict, surprise they hadn't either acted to the turn the studio around sooner, or slice it into a low cost / maintenance mode.

Not pursuing a maintenance mode is understandable when you think about it. It is one thing to be a company that closes bad games it's another to be one that pushes them on their customers.
Not quite sure I'm following you here. Are you saying the game was bad? Again not completely sure if I'm reading that right, but I can think of a fanbase that would rather continue having this game 'pushed' at them. As for the part about them trying to 'make the studio work our better', I've said my opinion about NCSoft's ideas of buisness before, see no need to go back into it.

Stage 3 – Bargaining: “How ‘bout if you increase the subscription fee? No? Then take my first-born; he’s strong and he’ll work hard... How ‘bout a kidney? I’ve got two of those… just keep the game up and running.”

Stage 5 – Acceptance: (sigh) “Guess I’ll log on while I still can. November 30th is coming fast.”
    I went through stage 1

Really took hold of stage 2

Never really went through stage 3

As for stage 4 I've been incredibly sad about it, but never once did it affect my logging on or playing

Stage 5, I've saddly come to terms that it's ending, though I'm too damn stubborn to give up 100% that it won't come back somehow, NCSoft getting smart and selling, crashing and burning (prefered outcome personally) and another company buying the IP at discount and putting it back up, something.

But though I may be at stage 5, it is mixed very much still with stage 2.
  8. I've joined some Tanker Tuesdays during my time on Protector, I think I may want to join the one happening on my home server (Pinn), which happens to house my favorite tank by the way. Depends mostly if there isn't already something planned that I'm probably forgetting, which is possible.
  9. Thanks to you Winter and the rest of the Talsors for hosting them, and yes they were fun.

I have to agree with that post, and also agree about someone (me) saying something if you did use 'retard', not for my mother and not really for any reasons that needs to be explained. If you think someone is saying/doing something that is stupid, than just say they are saying/doing something stupid.
No need to use derogatory/racial/stereotypical statements for any reason. We are down to the last few weeks of both the game and forums, lets end with some dignity and respect to others. If you don't agree with them, you can just as easily say so respectfully, or just not reply at all.

I was going to say something about that if someone else didn't. That is an awesome video Tim, great job as always, as well as kudos to everyone that helped with the voice work.
  12. First, Tim that was another awesome video. Second, I'm too damn stubborn to concede 100%, but thats more of a family trait than anything else, I come from a long line of hardheaded people that takes an awful lot of facts/convincing to change their minds once made up. Though to be honest, I don't see anything changing, but a part of me will always look for something that'll prove me wrong. I have and will continue to log in regularlly to play and host events/tf's til NCSoft kicks me off the live servers kicking and screaming.

I'm very slowly coming to terms with the closure, and after the 30th I'll be forced to find something else to spend my time, but I won't forget my time in the City, nor will I forget those responsible for shutting it down. All questions/comments about if a company should be allowed to shut down a service like this aside, I think we can agree that the BS way it was handled and is continued to be handled is crap, if done differently there would still be a City full of heroes saddened and probably still upset about the closing, but the anger/hatred may not have been so strong.
  13. Hi, I think it's cool you're doing this. Is it possible to get a Numina's Convalescence +Reg/Rec proc recipe? Global is @Heat Guard, thanks in advance
  14. That sounds awesome, and though I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the afternoon events, I think the trip down memory lane idea should be part of it either way, that really sounds like a fun time. I'm already thinking of Heats first time through the Hollows, I HATED Frostfire lol.
  15. I've always liked following your posts, but seeing as we run into each other whenever you're on in game, don't really see a point in saying goodbye to you here. So I'll just say seeya in game, maybe with the next crazy toon you are working on.
  16. November 30th is still over a month away. I have many teachers that can attest to the fact that I am very stubborn, so I refuse to believe that this is game over, so to speak. People are bringing up the fact that NCSoft lied about trying to sell, maybe shareholders, who might understand that pissing off potential customers is bad business, will see that and decide to step in. I know it's a small chance, but it's a chance, as well as something else that we may not have even thought of might pop up that could be a game changer. Point is, I'm not ready to toss in the towel just yet, particularly since I'm using it as a cape....
  17. I've mentioned it on the channel, but you can count me in.
  18. Another fun Monday Night Fights in Warburg, thanks to all who came out!
Next week we'll be heading back to Pocket D for some lvl 50 PvP action. See you for the next Fight Night!
  19. Thanks for setting it up Winter, that was indeed fun! Can't wait to see what you have planned next.
  20. Unfortunately due to unforseen things poping up, I may not be able to log on til around 9pm est, but if they are still foming, given the recent news, I'll still be in.

I share the sentiment that was shared above: continue to enjoy the game. It's what we (Paragon) worked so hard to create with you.

Lastly, I really need you guys to keep the conversation as civil as possible. Frustration, anger, disappointment and sadness are all understandable emotions to be feeling right now but I can't support comments that come across as threatening or insulting in nature. That goes for both players and employees of Paragon and/or NCSOFT.

    Thank you,

    Jessie
I agree that we shouldn't be going down the redside path. The best way to win this is staying blue. I've already made my feeling clear that this won't stop my resolve but we need to stay the good guys. I'm angry too, but I also belive that, dispite what the NCSoft message said, something that hasn't been look at can still happen. This isn't the time to let oursleves go to a dark place. /em torch

People are offering me $30k when the land is worth $100k alone.

Is this a realistic offer? Does this mean I wasn't willing to sell, or that no serious buyers were coming along (ones with enough money to make it worthwhile for me to keep the house in tact and sell instead of demoing and selling the land)?
But you didn't add in the potential cost the massive bad press will put into any future deals.
  23. The fight isn't over. It may have gotten harder, but by no means is it over. Time to strap up your boots, tighten your capes, and get into fighting pose. We are heroes. Not giving up, THIS is what we do.
  24. no. No. NO!
I'm sorry, but I don't buy this. I'm not saying that they are done with any negotiations, but I can't help but feel this is some kind of PR thing, something to try to quiet the masses. NAY I say, NAY! I won't be quiet, and i really doubt anyone else plans to either. There is a TwitchTV broadcast tomorrow, so I will wait to see what they say before commiting to the next phase, whatever that may be. But rest assured, there WILL be a next phase. This isn't over yet. There is still 2 months left, and plenty of time after that to get something done. This is the time to regroup, and depending on the outcome of tommorows broadcast, the time to speak louder. We know that we're being heard, now it's time to make sure they hear the message.
  25. For the second week, arena PvP in Pocket D was a success! Big thanks to everyone who came out, and I think we may even got some new regulars that'll be coming back, always nice. But I think next week, we may go back to Warburg so people who would like to bring lower lvl characters to PvP night for some FFA action can play them, though we can always take the party back to Pocket D for lvl 50 FFAs afterwards. Good Fights everyone!
