I would like to add that although we players tried to keep the game alive with the resources we had available - it failed. The game is done at the end of the month.
The reason I say this is there is a group making ***** of themselves on a particular website and its shameful the game dies with this core group of fans behaving irrationally and paranoid. Get over it, you probably spent too much time on the mmo, you probably made sacrifices to real life relationships in the playing of this game, but make amends with your poor decisions and get back to reality or drop out into another mmo. This march behind some twit trying to sell you her books is getting sillier every day. -

To the naysayers,
if you read the post you'd understand that nothing has changed, and you be needing to knock on some doors to get some attention.
Thanks TonyV for being a hero in all this. Very impressed! -
Done.
Coh was really one of a kind - Keep finding ways we can throw money at the problem! :> -

With the announcement I thought it best to see whats out there..
Tried The Secret World.. not for me, chat feels sterile, and I miss the instance missions and feel of teamwork and life in the colours, costumes and beautful environments of COH. Any teaming feels forced and again,.. sterile. Plus whats the deal with this themepark stuff - wheres the game?
Went and tried out CO - the forum members have some BIG trust issues with the developers and thinking this is a red flag. Plus, its Champions.. it wasnt good when it first came out, and although they have implemented many many costume options that are in COH (Well, someone got them from someone) - the game is the same game. And again teaming seems forced.. and the social side is not fluid.
Im not going to get my hopes up about COH being kept alive, but if someone does start a kickstart or something, I will pledge funds to make it happen.
I really hope it does cuz it aint pretty out there. -

I want to leave a video that touched me - A city of heroes fan video that I seen a long time ago.

For some reason I had assumed the game would live forever -
I will deeply miss City of Heroes very much.
I feel quite upset over this, over 8 years i have played in the COH universe.
Its always been my backup plan when things get stressy at work, or when I feel like ignoring my significant other. As a matter of fact I was bragging to a friend how City Of Heroes still have that je na sai quas missing in so many games created now.
I will miss respecs having a meaning and hunting in perez for the first time and the Icon store opening and doing hami and fighting the giant clockwork during the synapse tf and brickstown and badge hunting - Striga island - croatoa, the wonderful season events and the way supergroups once really meant something, something real.
Goodbye, I will miss you.

Hi!
Question- has there been any mention of doing anything with Perez park. It makes me sad to see it so neglected, like boomtown and some other areas.
There was originally two questions but I have already answered the other.
Thanks -

Quote:Yipee. Long live COH.Just as an FYI to our Community,
Paragon Studios was not affected by the reorganization and both Paragon Studios and NCsoft remain committed to the development of City of Heroes Freedom.
Thanks!

Now do something with Perez park and Boomtown wouldya? -
Back in the day there were posts by someone named 'Not A Troll' or something. They were quite amusing.

I just returned to COH from a hiatus and was kind of looking forward to seeing familiar product adverts in the game world (as I heard of ingame advertising but never seen it), and was a little dissapointed not to see them.
I might be in the minority though, some people get their panties into such a bind over something so minute (I mean really, how many commercials do these people actually ingest on a daily basis on the teleor radio). -
Quote:Thank you White Dust!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!one!!Hmm, I have probably a work around.
You should delete all the CoH test server folders.
Next, in your main City of Heroes directory make a copy of CoHUpdater.exe and rename that to CoHUpdater.eu.exe. Run the .eu version once to update it to the European version (dont worry, the US version is still working), close it after it is updated.
Update the european version to the test version like it is explained in How to access the Training room (EU)
If you fire up the normal CoHUpdater.exe -test shortcut, install it in the same directory of the EU test version it should go quite a bit faster. The updater is still quite slow but should cost around the 5 minutes (a bit better then 100 years)
Hope it helps the lot of you. -
Hello,
My test server updater has stopped at Fixing files: piggs/sound.pigg, it wont go at any speed besides 0. It had been going between 70kb sec to 50 until this point. This has been a few days at this speed.
Is this happening to anyone else? Any suggestions? Perhaps delete the old download and restart?
Thanks -
<---- Hopes voting for bases will help getting personal housing/bases in Cox.

Goodbye Cuppajo! Your the only redname on these boards that i felt i could rely on to be straightforward..
You will be missed!!!!!!! -
Thanks to the Developers for creating a MMO I could play and live with. I can say I have never been so enthusiastic about a game like I am with this one.
Thanks for the online Gm's who always respond to every dumb question I bring up, and even take the time to help me find the straggling badguy on a mission map.
Thanks for making Tanks just like they are.. and making it so we always startle other AT's when they arent dying anymore thanks to our Tank-ability.
This game rocks, I am in love
