Poll: What do you like most?
The storyline for me. I like the feeling that my charecter is part of an epic story.
- It's a superhero game
- The combat engine
- The ability to solo when I want
- The costume creator hey that's on the list! I can stop here.
The costumes were what drew me into the game, and it's what has the most lasting appeal. A friend demoed the costume editor to me, and I was stuck.
The storyline would be a contender, if it wasn't so <mild expletetive> hard to follow when grouping - the clues are hidden away in submenus and popups, and only the mission owner can see what the contact says in conclusion when you return after each mission. I wish there was a simpler solution (e.g. a "story" chat channel like the "combat" one) for following the storyline.
Playing with the base editor is great fun - I could spend hours and hours with it (fortune has it that I'm the architect in one of the SGs I'm a member of). Pity there is almost no reason for the SG members to use that base...
Gotta be the storyline for me. Comic geek since I was knee-high, it's a dream come true to play in this world!
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
Of the options listed, I chose Costumes. I would have liked to choose Storylines, but I'd like to feel like I really made a difference, and as they are now, I don't. I can run the same missions over and over without end. Nothing permanent happens. Dreaming here, I know, but it would be nice to feel like something I did in the game really effected/changed something.
PeeVeePee followed by costumes. I like busting heads, and I love doing it while looking guud.
I would have picked PvE Combat if that was an option, which it should have been IMO.

Same for me, although it sounds like ommissions in the poll were deliberate.
I chose the various enemy groups. One of the things I really liked the first time I played through CoH was encountering new groups and discovering what they could (or couldn't) do. I still enjoy the variety with the enemy groups, even if some of the higher-level ones tend to rely a bit on the one-trick pony of status effects.
Storyline and costumes would follow closely from the items listed.

gah thats hard...pvp is definantly up there, but i <3 the costume maker...
The poll seems to be intended to gauge the community's interest on different aspects of the game. Perhaps Cryptic is attempting to determine where their focus should be?
I love creating new concepts and being able to play them. Closest thing on that list to that would be costumes. My next choice would be powers, then Storyline.. cause the story is pretty cool.
Favorite Villians? The 5th. I miss my Nazis
Everytime I see one of these polls I think to myself:
"The dev team must have sat down today for a brainstorm session of what to schedual for next year, after coming up with a ton of ideas none of them could decide on which was best. Matt offered to flip a coin and Jack suggested a round of D&D to decide the winner. But the team couldn't even decide on what to use as the tie breaker either. Hence the poll."
Well my favorite is creating new characters and getting new powers (curse you slow leveling!)
But from that list - Costumes.
@Bengal Fist - Freedom - Authority SG
Bengal Fist (SS/EA) - Thirt3en (Time/Elec) - Aussi (Elec/Shield) - Potamoi (Water/Time) - Parkr (Staff/Ela)
Costumes costumes costumes! Good grief am I in love with making really cool characters!
The super hero genre of this game drew me in, but the costumes made me stay.

See, I'm the opposite. Even as an old-school comics nerd who loved story-driven games like Fallout, I am barely conscious of the fact this game has storylines because of the way they're not integrated into the game. It is amazingly possible to go from 1 to 50 and have no idea at all what the major storylines of the game are.
I am like that for the most part Click_Beetle. Although when I do get into the storyline be it whatever reason, I tend to really enjoy it!

The story. As I just posted elsewhere I think we need storylines for both the street level and the super-galaxy type protector. That and powers.
We need more powers. Equipment you can buy (Melee Weapons/Firearms/Misc Devices), Temporary Devices (Electromagnetic Glove, Flame Staves, etc.), and Artifacts (Gorgon's Head - temporarily hold mobs, etc.)
I'd love to have new scrapper powersets. Chains, Scythes, Variety of Swords, and cool non-lethal sets. Super Strength, Fire /Ice/Stone Melee (maybe even some electric/energy weapons).
Even though it's not a selectable item ^-~ it's why I joined the game.
Thanks for the poll, really helps I think. Add more.
I picked costumes as the most applicable option to express that I like playing superheroes. With a little powers tweaking, the exact same game engine could probably run a sword and sorcery or kill-the-aliens game, but here I get to be a superhero.
I've never yet taken a hit from a bad guy skidding across the floor on his keister.

In this Order
Costumes
Powers
PVE COmbat
The Suit Makes the Man as they say.(or freakishly tall fireant)
The powers combined with a good costumes make you stick around..FOR THE COMBAT!. I have to say the combat for the PVE aspect of this game is the some of the best fun I've had in ANY game.
So You have a great costume, awesome powers that fit that costumes, And you just so happen to look 50 times cooler in said costume bashing a giant robot in the shins with your 900 pound Battlehammer made of stone!
