This bug isn't specific to any of the new features of I13. It's related to chat and binds.
I use binds similar to the following to manage chatting in different channels
/bind o "startchat$$chatset "Chat Channel""
/bind i "startchat$$chatset s"
/bind k "startchat$$chatset t"
Prior to I13, these binds would change the chat channel and activate the text entry so that I could begin typing (don't have to press enter).
Now, these binds do much the same thing, but they insert the character that they are bound to (i.e. "o," "i," and "k") into the entry box before anything else I can type.
For comparison:
Previously, I could press "o" and begin typing my message.
Now, I press "o" and begin typing, but there is already an "o" at the beginning of anything I type.
I've tried re-binding the binds, tried them on different keys, etc. Doesn't help. -

For those who don't understand Arachnos: Recluse imprinted the organization with a hard core survival of the fittest ideology. The organization also openly recognizes that if you see your fellow men as potential prey, there's no reason that won't extend to your colleagues and accepts that there will be fractiousness and infighting as a matter of course. That's why there is an Arbiter Corp to keep things from becoming non-productive and why YOU are allowed to be attacked by wolf spiders.
For those who don't understand Project Destiny: Recluse has a list of 'potential destined ones' that *might* turn out to be the ones for told by Kalinda and the Fortunata Corps. They aren't certain, they are just the ones who *might* be and all of them were broken out of prison. Once they were out, Arachnos dumped them down in the Isles to sink or swim on their own. To protect the investment, the new arrivals were tied into the hospital teleport network, but that's as far as they will go in support. This firstly is in line with the survival of the fittest ideology of Arachnos; if you never managed to make it out of Sharkhead or if you got offed by a Crab Spider somewhere then you weren't actually Destined now were you? Secondly it lets Arachnos deny a connection between themselves and the acts of the Players (this is also why Arachnos-contracted Mayhem missions in Paragon come through non-Arachnos island Brokers).

I have a level 45 MM, and have been active on the forums for quite some time now--but I did not know most of the information, except in generalities.
An earlier and clearer explanation of the prophecy (which I have never heard of) and Recluse's methodology for seeing its fruition would do a great deal to alleviate the "lackeyed" feel many players complain of. -

I am weeping because the link isn't working now. Any chance somebody knows where a copy is?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a copy, but I'm not sure if it's the most recent.
In any case, here it is. -
Jock, did you post that when we completed it originally? I remember a post, but that one seems different than the original I'm remembering.

I played for ~3 hours Friday night, ~6 hours on Saturday and ~8 hours on Sunday. For about 2/3rds of that time, I was in a group of 4-8 players, the rest being spent duo or a very small amount of soloing time.
For all of that, I gained 2 levels on a Brute (23-25), 1 Level on a Controller (14-15) and 13 levels on a Defender (19-32.)
I did not do any task forces, and did almost none of my own missions, spending most of the time sidekicked to level 38-40ish mentors doing their missions (My SG was trying to get a bunch of characters to 39 for the Eden Trial.)
Overall, I had a lot of fun...can't wait to do it again!

What kind of Defender? -
Let me get this straight...
UniqueDragon returns.
CuppaJo returns.
LivingHellfire returns.
The Devs introduce an interface for the numbers into the game.
I thought all that Apocalypse talk was silly, but now I'm not so sure.
But I'll die happy, with numbers! -

[*]NCSoft will be relocating the current "City" QA (Quality Assurance) team from the Austin studio to the new NorCal Studio. That's right, their QA gang will be able to stand up from their computer, walk down the hall, and say, "Hey, BackAlleyBrawler" found a bug with an animation you should see." How freakin' efficient is that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoa, whoa. Do you have a source for that? I thought I'd been through all the Dev/Community posts, and I don't remember seeing that. -

One thing that I hope comes about from this...
Some actual advertising.
While I don't want CoX to hit WoW numbers (and the associated increase in jerks:non-jerks ratio), it would definitely be nice to see some fresh blood.
Things like Who Wants to be a Superhero and Heroes are so obvious venues for a TV spot or something. "Hey, you're watching superheroes, why not play one?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Just...don't market to teenagers. PLEASE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Meh. Some teenagers can be quite mature and act like reasonable, rational people. Conversly, some adults can be some of the most frothing at the mouth, irrational idiots in the world.
The game is rated "T for Teen" after all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Obviously, there are exceptions in both groups, but the large majority of teenagers are stunningly immature. Trust me--I spend more time with them than I would like.

I didn't notice it! I was outside, playing tennis, and I didn't feel a thing.
Never felt one before, either.

Keeping in mind that the dev/des team of CoH and CoV are not identical to those working on other projects, what I see advertised here is insipid. I would prefer to pay $50-75 for a new expansion than receive such garbage.
What could be improved is as follows: enlarge the existing zones by about ten times existing size adding street signs and block numbers using the larger graphic tile sets rather than a pretended small set, add new "shops" where one can "buy" NPC friends and background/life event options, add new gameplay features that extend simlife elements entertainingly for the players of this game sensibly in regards to game history and theme, update many NPC enemy groups with new outfits and in some cases add new types to each including named villains along each common echelon of power (underling, minion, lieutenant, boss), permit new and more detailed character creation along with signature powers for player characters. This and other additions would take about two months of normal work (rather than playing pocket pong most of the day) without introducing problems into the game as "play testing" -- I noticed some of the defective methods of play testing undertaken by Cryptic during the CoV Betas which included introducing old graphical glitches and map glitches that were smoothed out early in CoH before the appearance of Founders Falls.
Guys, really. Just slap together an expansion full of features and pretend you've been working on it for a few years. That sorta thing would work well in tandem with your normal method.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pocket pong, huh?

I'm glad the web guys overcame the inherent ugliness that is MySpace. Its popularity is undeserved.

Do tell? Brawl seems to only take Melee Damage sets...
[/ QUOTE ]
Hint: for most scrappers, brawl is the fastest activating attack they can possibly include in their builds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Devious! I like it!
The only question then becomes: How many slots can you afford to put into brawl that won't be better spent elsewhere?
[/ QUOTE ]
Two procs and a common acc IO isn't so expensive for what would be a very nice attack, that doesn't have redraw.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would you fill me in? I'm not getting it... -

Defenders can smack on unresisted debuffs

Defender unresistable Debuffs apply only in PvP. The few debuffs that are unresistable are so across all classes. -

If you look at the pic closely, though, its not a typical Oranbega map. There's debris on the floor. -

Dark Defender's can pitch hit for Controllers in most circumstances. And Ice/Ice Blasters.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say Ice/Ice blasters could, they only have single target control and not the AoE control controllers specialize in. Dark defenders can manage as a substitute with their fear cone and black hole.
[/ QUOTE ]
Manage?
My Dark/Dark Defender has more control powers than my Grav/Kin. Throw in the Psi epic and you can rival Mind Control. -

I'm not sure what the tally has been, but I got 109k XP for a single kill last night... without double XP. I was lvl 48 on a team of mostly 50s and the AVs were 53.

That just makes you a PLer. -

'Cause I see that typed alot and it kinda irks me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably the same way 'alot' irks me and there is no such word. 'Kinda' will get a pass today.
[/ QUOTE ]
What does "welp" mean? It's maddening!
[/ QUOTE ]
It mimics the speech mannerisms of casual English conversation--people often create a small "p" sound after the word "well."
At least, that's what I'm assuming Shego was using. -

Wait now... Couldn't Cryptic(or any one of these video game company featured in the decumentery) sue whoever it is who put the clips together? I mean, in a way, they're misportraying a copywritten character?

I'm extremely disappointed that an image of Statesman would be used in such a way. I know that we designed City of Heroes to appeal to "children of all ages." My proudest accomplishment with the game is that many parents (including my brother) play with their children...sharing, I hope, the same joy for the comic book world that I've had ever since I was 8. I cannot express the shock that I felt seeing that a character created by Cryptic would be used in the same sentence as Columbine.
[/ QUOTE ]
If that footage is copyrighted by NCSoft or Cryptic, I recommend you contact the producers of that film to have it removed. By using images of Statesman, the filmmakers not only impugned the noble (and American) ideals Statesman represents, but also destroyed any credibility they may have possessed--City of Heroes is not a violent or base game.
Statesman's inclusion into that trailer constitutes slander. It utterly misrepresents City of Heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't it be possible to use their blunder AGAINST them? Get the word out there.. throw in the American ideal stuff.. show as many people as possible what all this BS about video games really is.. alarmist propaganda. A few people are trying to spread fear and terror to the masses through ignorance. Shouldn't we be doing everything possible to uncover these types of people for what they really are?
I just know doing nothing won't work..
edit: Is it to much to hope that Cryptic will not take this laying down? They need to come down on this hard.
[/ QUOTE ]
I certainly hope Cryptic/NCSoft acts to remove the footage. By mistakenly portraying City of Heroes as a violent game, the footage has the potential to fraudulently prejudice potential customers against buying the game and falsely sully the name of Cryptic and NCSoft.
I also hope that this mistake is used against the film. It demonstrates a lack of understanding and research. -
