Poll: What do you like most?

Gee, I guess I'd have to vote for PvE.
Oh, wait, that's not an option.
[/ QUOTE ]
It seems highly likely that they left PvE off because they already know that PvE is going to be a focus going forward, they're just looking for info on where else to look.
[/ QUOTE ]
The question is rather specific: What do you like most?
My answer, as is MANY others', fails to be on the list. If your supposition is accurate, then they should have just come out and stated that.

They know they have left off a bunch of stuff and acknowledge it. I'm not sure what the issue is.
My choice isn't there, but I picked storyline, but only as it pertains to:
A sense of accomplishment. Like three of us (a 47 fire troller, a 45 blaster, and me the mind/emp troller) defeating the 45AV Madame of Mystery. We were all spent, but elated at just us getting her defeated. Good times.
And my first 3 hami raids. A sense of "I did it!" kind of thing.
I know it's a game, but I'm addicted and it's important. Like I'm interested in continuing to level Ruby Dawn until she's a 50 for my PB and my WS. That way I'll have one of each kind of AT in the games, both Heroes and Villains, in Pinnacle, the way I planned.
But I'll keep playing Ruby for the badges I can get. I think the hardest will be the Illusionist badge I don't have yet. :P That's on the way to getting the Archmage for her. That'll be another accomplishment.
Not bad for $.50 a day.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
I chose specific villian group(s), which would happen to be the Malta and KoA. Malta moreso; KoA for the cool look, mostly (we really need some KoA costume pieces... or accessories like the boot knife).
Although, while I loved the Malta as soon as I saw them (ambushing my high-40's blaster friend in Talos and outright wupping his butt - I didn't know whether to root for the bada** commandos or my friend ) I really started liking them after I did some Malta arcs of my own and learned their backstory.
When I figured out the relationship between the Malta and the various elements (might-for-right act, etc) of CoH's backstory, I was hooked. It was just one of those times when I felt the writers really did a great job twining everything together, and making a very good and quite believable story. So I guess I could have picked story instead... but nah.
Plus, the Malta are the only villian group that really and truly tries. I mean they bust out all the stops: Body armor, suppression and entanglement grenades, assault rifles, turrets, gun-fu cowboys, giant mechs (who combine to form bigger giant mechs, no less), really, really super-big Giant Mechs and of course we cannot forget the sappers, the only minion that's acctually worth a crap. Oh, and they're all part of an elaborate global-wide government conspiracy.
I really loves me paranoid black-ops. They so hugglez.
Drop -- 50 MA/SR - Pinnacle
Varia -- 50 Claws/Inv - Pinnacle
Rainfall -- 50 DB/WP - Virtue
mmmm....PvP.
The other stuff is good the first few times, but PvP is always a good time.
It's funny, as of when I voted it was a near tie for first between the story and costumes and then, at near half the numbers for first, a near tie for second between Badges and PvP.
Since I had to pick just one, it had to be costumes.
Honestly I like just about everything in the game though.

Of the options listed, I chose Costumes. I would have liked to choose Storylines, but I'd like to feel like I really made a difference, and as they are now, I don't. I can run the same missions over and over without end. Nothing permanent happens. Dreaming here, I know, but it would be nice to feel like something I did in the game really effected/changed something.

QFE.
I'd love to pick bases too, but as they are they're just too useless for what they cost, too clunky to be fun to play with and too expensive overall. I shouldn't feel like a prestige slave for my base. (Oh dear, rent's due again, better play my controller.)
Very difficult Choice on that list, but ultimately Costumes are the final winner for extended appeal... But it barely beat my recollection of getting my letter from Requiem...<shudder>
Thanks
I would like to just point out that I voted for costumes but this does not mean they are the thing that drives me. I personally think that with a few changes; Bases would surpass costumes as my favorite thing in CoH/CoV.
Right now the two factors that keep bases from being my favorite are the high cost of rent.(I think the cost for base items, and plots are fine) The second limiting factor is that due to the fact that you have to be in an SG and then hope the SG allows you to be the editor in order to even know how much fun the base editor can be. I'm very much hoping that player apartments become a reality in some way, shape or form. I have been very lucky in the fact that I get to edit my SG's base. It's really sad that so many people don't get the chance to do it. Even if player aparments don't have all the stuff that bases have it would still be a great bonus to the many creative people I know who just havn't gotten the chance to shine.
So for now Costumes are my favorite, but I look forward to bases/player housing to surpass costumes as my favorite someday.
The game needs to have more immersion. I would do this thru making STORY PANELS LIKE IN A COMIC.
You are assigned the arrest of Frost Fire and a small still scene pops up with 4 - 6 panels showing where Frost Fire has made his home.
You defeat Frost Fire and a small 4 - 6 panels pop up showing Frost Fire being lead away and your contact saying - THANKS!
Is this a comic book tribute game or not?
You have such a wonderful vehicle and you just touch the surface.
For costumes add a STENCIL option. Now you can have completely unreal variations. You can stencil your selection just like a chest design.
I voted Bad guy groups. I love the Freaks, Tsoo, Sky Raiders and Nazi's when they existed. After a bad day nothing satisfies like slamming nazi's.
You know, i could have voted for any of the options provided, but i voted for story line. Believe me, i do get sick of the same missions over and over, but every once in a while, i get to a mission, or story arc that i have'nt done or done in quite some time and i really get into it.
I agree with Dysmal, had there been a PvE combat option, i prolly would've selected that instead.

In this Order
Costumes
Powers
PVE Combat
The Suit Makes the Man as they say.(or freakishly tall fireant)
The powers combined with a good costumes make you stick around..FOR THE COMBAT!. I have to say the combat for the PVE aspect of this game is the some of the best fun I've had in ANY game.
So You have a great costume, awesome powers that fit that costumes, And you just so happen to look 50 times cooler in said costume bashing a giant robot in the shins with your 900 pound Battlehammer made of stone!

wow.... I am amazed that Costumes have come out ahead of the story line (as of the time I posted).
Still... it is important.
CatMan - some form on every server
Always here, there, and there again.
The storyline is the thing that really involves me, but I at least like everything about this game. Personal favorites not mentioned in the poll itself include:
PvE combat (try WoW, pull hair out)
Solo-friendly dynamic
The community
Ease of movement in the world
It's a game about freakin' superheroes!
The last one is what drew me in. The everything else is what kept me here.
Have you or someone you know been the victim of Nerd Rage?

I love creating new concepts and being able to play them. Closest thing on that list to that would be costumes. My next choice would be powers, then Storyline.. cause the story is pretty cool.
[/ QUOTE ]
NewEden's response is pretty much mine, too. I voted for the costumes.
I love reading the storylines, but it's hard to do teamed, and teaming causes me to miss whole sections of that. And, as was pointed out earlier, it's hard to follow the storyline if you're doing someone else's mission, or they're hurrying your through yours.
And, of course, scrappers (and everyone else) need more power options.
i like the stories and gameplay, but the costumes are king, they are why i stay, and why ill probably be here for the duration, customization is king. ill play any game where i can be a dragon, and in here i can be a dragon who does karate, solid.[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]id just like to add, this is an exceptional idea.
The fact that you can customize your characters more than any other MMO out there (except Second Life).
One time I was in a group with my SS/Electrical brute (who's got sort of a Devil May Cry's Nelo Angelo /Vergil slant to him), and there was another SS/Electrical brute who was more of a silly space circus Dick Dastardly character. Both more or less had the relatively same powers, but had COMPLETELY different looks and feels to them. In WOW or EverQuest, both would have been two goons in goofy teir 3 armor that look exactly the same. COH's customizability is a cut above the rest, and makes for real memorable characters!

Costumes
Storyline
Badges
PVP
All my friends i used to hangout with in COH have left for other games , so bases didn't get my vote. It might have been at the top of my list if they were still here , but too expensive for me.
Can't wait for Inventions , ask this survey again later.
I voted for Costumes, But I also enjoy the story line very much also.
Story line (whcih on resulst is runnign 2nd).
A mere 309% ?
Methinks folks looted the graveyards of Illinois for this poll.

@Catwhoorg "Rule of Three - Finale" Arc# 1984
@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
What keeps me in the game (almost since it opened.)
1. The RP Community. I love you guys.
2. The superb character design system. Brilliantly well conceived and organized.
3. PvP.
4. Costume creator.
5. The storyline (which is not to say I dislike the stories. Far from it.)
What I don't like:
1. Various imbalances in PvP.
2. Repetitive, tedious missions. There are more challenges than beating a horde of faceless minions or a single big boss.
3. Certain AT design decisions (the whole tanker taunt thing, for example. Superman does not emit mind control rays to make people shoot at him.)
4. The bar. Mind, for the villains it's great we have a bar. But for the heroes to always be hanging around a saloon is sooo wrong for the comic book genre. When was the last time you saw Batman drinking a beer?
Im sorry, I can't vote for the Story as long as the CoV story revolves around being Recluse's [censored] and there's no alternative plot to follow.
If PvE was an option, id have taken it, but as is, I took PvP. CoH's strengths are it's costume creation and combat system, but darnit, I've seen enough costume updates lately. XD
This was any easy one:
My favorite part of the game is also the part that has gotten ignored in greater and greater amounts over the last year and a half...
the storyline!
Specific Mob: The Tsoo I think they need some major updating (bases of operation, level expansion, etc)
hard choice to make. i had to give the nod to choices unique to our game.
ps. wow...i didn't know the boards could make polls and graphs.
*wonders if the boards are becoming self-aware*
