The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Currently, I've been playing World of Tanks. Might retry DCUO and CO again, though neither thrilled me. Battletech is gonna be free and in development. Plus Star Wars game may be cool. Kinda saddened by this loss.

Without CoH calling to me, I'll be spending more of my time working on my world-building project which will eventually be a setting for a GURPS campaign. CoH was the only MMO I played, and while I might enjoy The Secret World, I have the feeling I'm going to get more enjoyment from creating my own world instead of playing in someone else's.

...I forgot what experience means.

I'm already admin of the biggest WildStar community out there, so if my CoH friends can stomach it, you can find me at WildStar Central (Google us, I'll not be so crass as to post a link).

Otherwise I'm in the PlanetSide 2 beta, but that has no character akin to CoH. You'll find me here or there until WildStar releases.
Not sure I will be picking up an NCSoft game in the near future even though both GW2 and Wildstar look great. I'm sure I will eventually get over what they did to my favorite game but not real soon.

Kind of in limbo right now.

I hope to see some ex-CoHers in Planetside 2 or some other F2P games, don't feel like playing another sub game for a bit after this.

Going to spend the final weeks here running more Skype conference calls for time with my friends. I have other hobbies but none as intense as this. Gardening only goes so far.

Warning: nerdy fan-girl answer. I'll start shopping around in two phases. While I'm enjoying my final days here, I'll start looking around for a casual MMO to muck around in until "the next big thing" hits.

By that, I'm not talking about a perfect game. I don't need a WOW-killer. Something fun, something that is very community oriented, something that may be rough but has promise.

I started this game in June of 2004, my SG in December of 2004 and never took a break. It was my TV time...

So. My checklist for "the next big thing":

- Must be a new game. I want to be fresh and start with everyone else.

- Gotta actually have missions and trials. Things like Second Life would not be my cup of tea. I need an adventure.

- Must have a community setting. Where you can maintain a group larger than a team. Plus if it has private or group housing.

- Leaning to a big name. I want the promise (even if a small one) of it lasting a few years and not just one of a million start ups that will die out quickly.

- Prefer: Superhero, Real World/Modern, Sci-Fi .. (in that order). Just not an elves and dragon sort of girl.

Any suggestions? Post away.

I don't know. I really don't. Neither do some of my friends... we're all still stunned, sangry - yeah, I'll leave that, combo of sad and angry, nto a typo...

I've got STO, which is ok, but I haven't logged in for a while. Not fond of champs. Had some stuff in Aion, but I left that long ago. LOTRO... just doesn't do it for me. Not fond of guild wars... TOR is just... meh.

This is the only MMO I've really stuck with. The only one that let me decide what I wanted to look like and why, instead of tying it to gear. The only one that really grabbed me and kept me. That let me make my own characters and their own stories, instead of being "fighter #908749308475 against that horde, again" or whatnot.

I really don't know, gaming-wise, what I'll be doing.

Friends and I play on L4D/L4D2 on occasion, but...

I don't know.

I don't plan on playing another MMO. This was my first and last love.

I suspect I will go to playing more board, card, and roleplaying games at this is where my interests lie these days.

Same here. I even showed Wildstars introduction video and a few of in-game videos along with a testers blog notes to a lot of people. Now not just stomach I don't even have a nail left on me to look at it. Sorry Master Zaprobo if conditions were different I would gladly join your community and I respect your decision but there is just not even a stone left in me to give to NCSoft yet alone money and be advised if same thing with GW2 happens with Wildstar they will immediatly shutdown it not another one of their products.

On OP's question: I have lifetime with Champions and Secret World probably will on Secret World though I don't like CO that much but not regreting my lifetime either at the very least I can jump back in and check some things than return to CoH well I could. First I lost SWG to stupid NGE upgrade (which I think blame was on WoW since they tried to make game closer to it) now I lost my second I lost SWTOR to bad company management (Both EU and bioware have blames on that one) and now I lost my all-time second best (after old SWG) CoX to bad company management (I guess I have that kind of luck with companies)

I also was thinking to try Guild Wars. Heck, I would had bought it today had I not heard this news. I highly doubt I'll be doing that anymore. I may forgive in a year or so, but NCSoft wont see another penny from my pockets.

Guild Wars 2 really should be given a fair shot, guys. I picked it up on a whim and it is extremely polished.

It isn't all elves and crap either - you can play an engineer with guns/rifles/traps if you wish.

...but yeah Planetside 2 is on my radar also. The NDA on the beta just got lifted today.

Yeah I've been mentally working out the details of some CoH fiction between several characters of mine all interacting and explaining their stories and backgrounds... Now that's all dead.

I refuse to let my characters die, especially my favorites. But I have no idea where I'm going to take them.

Yeah. So many posts on here that say "kthxbai", and I'll agree with the "kthx" but I'm not saying "bai" until the lights go out. Some say it's impossible, but NCSoft is a company. They like money. If another studio (or someone with some cash) says "here's money, give us PS/CoH", I'm sure they'd turn into Smeagol at the sight of the Ring.

That said, should this all continue the way it appears to, you'll probably find me in CO or DCUO at least until my main hits the level cap. Might also catch me on SWTOR, though things there aren't looking too hot (unfortunately; thanks EA). More than likely though, after DC I'll probably hang up the cape and my MMO gaming entirely. Nothing out there now has grabbed my love and attention the way CoH has, and nothing on the horizon appears to either.

For right now...

I have STO installed, but I doubt I'll give PWE much of anything. I like the Core game play of STO, but everything else has been making me dislike the overall experience more and more.

Beyond that, I don't know. I'm still upset and angry over NCSoft's dickery here, that anything else is gonna be a while to take in.

Thank you for the time...

I guess I'll no longer be dividing my time between here and Secret World and will just be in Secret World from here on in.

I can't express how unhappy I am about this. I seriously can't. I have no words. This is so much worse than Tabula Rasa, and I'm still not over that one.

And this is why I posted no link. Because I empathise with how you feel - I am almost in tears here over CoH.

Years ago, I played Earth and Beyond, a Westwood Studios MMO. When EA purchased Westwood, shortly after they canned E&B. I swore I would never play another EA game as long as I lived. I meant it too.

I've since played EA Games. And enjoyed them. So I know some may in time not be so adverse to seeing what another NCsoft Studio - which is what Paragon Studios were - are making.

I'll miss my CoH home. I hope you all find your new MMO Homes too.

nowhere for me... the only one that interested me WAS GW2, no more. going to miss all the fine folks I have teamed with over the last 2 years. Guess Ill have more time to do other things... like work on the P&PRPG game Ive been working on and painting the 200+ miniatures I purchased from the Reaper Kickstarter

Well, I have a WoW account, I might go there. Don't really want to, but I don't have the heart to find a new community right now.

I will probably go hang out a bit more on Westley's UnLeashed forums, at least keep in touch with some folks there....

Hmm, Lifetime LOTRO subscription so I should go play that more, Champions, and STO lifetime as well. I've been playing a lot of DDO and enjoying that. Secret World doesn't like my computer so I won't be keeping that subscription. A shame the game looks decent. I suppose I could pick up my WoW subscription again. ::sigh:: And I do have GW2 since I've already bought it I think I'll not dump it besides that isn't really fair to the poor guys at Arena.net but really 5 character slots? COH spoiled me for shear number of characters I can have.

Mostly I don't know what to do with my modern-day themed characters, or Arachnos-inspired characters. I just can't take characters like these to some medieval fantasy setting game.

Where is everyone going? I'd like some ideas and some discussions on what games offer what.
Not going anywhere else. I'll keep playing TF2 every now and again and my various iPad games.

I've never met another MMO that I cared for. Despite any grousing, CoH is the only MMO that's scratched my gaming itch.

This was my main game. I tried others and kept coming back.

-Tried and uninstalled DCUO

-Tried and still have STO installed but the game was/is a time killer.

Too much space travel and the keyboard space battle mashing puts me
off. The ground mishes weren't very engaging either.

- Tried SWTOR and experienced extreme frustration. The game requires
too much bandwidth, the game is poorly designed, and lost too much
time watching cutscenes and doing traveling. Finally watched the swtor youtube swtor class finale videos and canceled the game.

I probably will play "my life" from now on.
If I do play games again I'll play packaged games with clear endings(StarCraft: Heart of the Swarm, Half-Life 2, Part 3) not MMOs. I hope the team can find new jobs.

You could always play ..... Celtic Heroes ... on the iPad. A friend of mine who has resisted playing any MMO for years because he doesn't want to get sucked into them is currently playing it madly....

I like to fly.
No flying mounts...my avatar. Not that crappy movement in second life!
I don't want to play Champions.
I have a lifetime sub to DCUO and I have a meatspace social group that plays DDO. I guess I'll be there. Then again, maybe not.
