  1. I promised art for a SGmate's birthday. Well, it's his birthday, I'm told. Happy birthday, @Perigee Nil.

  2. It's an image that's been sitting in my head for months, and I'd been too intimidated by its scale to work on it. Click it for big dA version, with detailed faces n stuff.

He's an oldschool Midnighter whose main drives are guilt and the fear of death... He's the spectral embodiment of trench warfare... they fight Talons!

(That's the Hour Thief, my time manipulator, and the Devil's Doctor, @Tinhead's Ice/Pain corruptor. Super BFFs.)

    Where are you?

My marker is now in Austin, Texas.
  4. If CoH is lost, I will likewise return to Morrowind, and doing my part to make it prettier.
  5. I like the torch-bearing statues idea. Maybe not to replace the braziers, but put a statue in a park somewhere. A small one.
  6. Too much. Way, way too much. Apart from the things already mentioned (plaques, the word 'Paragon,' etc) - songs on the radio. Piano Man, Let It Be, American Pie, to begin with - going further, a lot of Meat Loaf and Tom Lehrer songs evoke specific characters. And on both levels, heartbreakingly, The Show Must Go On.

    Confessions

My main has occasionally featured in my sex fantasies.
  8. By far, my favorite is The Hour Thief. He's a time manipulator from before Time was a powerset (a Grav/Kin controller with powers colored gold, like all the things representing "time" were before the actual time set showed up and was, inexplicably, not gold by default), played as a Midnighter from the earlier days of the Midnight Squad, who idolized the Dream Doctor growing up and started learning magic soon as he scraped together enough money to go to college. All this was decided a good bit of time after I rolled him - his concept, on creation, was based entirely on "Five Minutes," a short creepypasta... I had no more than that until I banged out a quick bio for him to bring him into my RP supergroup; basically just height, weight, DOB, distinguishing features, and a quick-and-dirty personality description. Then, a month or two later, he was promoted to IC officer, and I found myself playing him more and more... from there, his history and a far more comprehensive personality pretty much wrote themselves.

I don't feel I exaggerate when I say I came to love him. I have been playing him exclusively since the announcement of Paragon Studios' closure, and even before, he was my default when logging in - somehow, playing and writing him feels easier, more natural, even than playing characters who are objectively closer to being me (as a twenty-five-year-old female civilian, I have very, very little in common with a ninety-three-year-old-but-immortal male WWII veteran). Maybe it's because looking things up so I can play him for what he is better has led me to a lot of interesting stuff; maybe it's that I just like playing support ATs and he, as a /Kin and later a Time/ Defender, is my supportiest; maybe it's just a simple matter of his being smokin' hot - whatever the reason, he's what sprang into my mind as what I don't want to lose when I read the news.

I also like my Fortunata (an escaped superscience Rularuu-monster) and my Ill/Rad controller (a time-displaced woman scientist from pre-19th-Amendment Chicago) a lot. There have been times when they were my favorite, in turn, for various reasons, and for various reasons I don't feel like I'm done with them either. All three will live on as Mutants and Masterminds characters, and in the event I ever get to play them (fingers crossed) I'll be asking my GM to please allow their in-character acknowledgement of Paragon City's existence.
  9. I'm not done with mine either, and two of my mains, including the most main among them, are lore-based. I've already made them as Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition characters (surprisingly possible and accurate!) and, God willing, some effort to put together a CoHverse campaign setting, which I will definitely help with, will happen.

    Not Goodbye

Oh, I forgot - this is what Black Wolf Pet looks like at medium graphics settings for me:

  11. I would. It's the characters I've made that are the worst thing to lose, and if there were a standalone game that would be something I could still say they are for.
  12. I would jump right back on it. Rerolling a full Virtue server of characters would be a small, small price to pay.

Ah yeah, hadn't made it to your post yet. Glad to provide a screencap.

I fought a Stealth Titan once. I was the only team member with a PBAOE, so it was very slow, standing there and hitting Spin (and eventually Psychic Wail when it was up) until it finally went down.

That mission was a kill-all. Aaargh.

    Driven to drink

I have been made physically ill.

I was fine yesterday morning - right up until I sat down at my computer after a doctor's appointment, and saw the news. Since then I have been nauseous, weak, and shivering, to the point where I have actually thrown up.
  16. Just returned from a physical therapy appointment for my scoliosis.
  17. Oougel - Fortunata, built for melee/AOE damage. A horrible, twisted hybrid of human and Soldiers-of-Rularuu DNA, escaped from her Arachnos creators who viciously defends Primal Earth, HER world.

The Illumineer - Ill/Rad/Primal Controller. A woman scientist, displaced in time from before the 19th Amendment, settled into modern day life perfectly.

And lastly, The Hour Thief - Grav/Kin Controller, with alternate Time/Sonic Defender version. A Midnighter from the Squad's early days, immortal by tricking criminals lifespans away from them. Farewell, Edmund... of all the characters I have ever made in any game, you are the one I most wanted to bang.

    Save COH

Hopes aren't high but I signed it; can't hurt.
  19. When I love a character that I've made to fit in that game's world, that's when it's not just a game anymore.

The Hour Thief is, above all else, a Midnighter. I can't bring him with me.
  20. I don't have anywhere else to go.

    I am crying.

Yeah, I am crying. For over a year, CoH is the only game I have ever had any desire to play. I RP and I love my characters, most of whom are based solidly in the CoH universe and wouldn't translate well to some other game... so I'm losing them, too.

    I feel sick.
  22. Loads of people know this one already, but for the sake of completeness: Long pants + Boxing boots = saddle shoes.

Similarly, this one is actually suggested by the game itself (in the preset "Mobster" costume) but for some reason, I never see it - long pants + Cowboy boots = expensive Italian loafers.

  23. What I wish is that the Pocket D metallic stuff matched the existing Metallic texture that we've had since the advent of Ultra Mode.
