Where are you going?

I'm not playing any other MMOs. I didn't enjoy WoW, Aion, GW, RO, GE, or CO. I have no idea where I'm going to go now.

Mostly I don't know what to do with my modern-day themed characters, or Arachnos-inspired characters. I just can't take characters like these to some medieval fantasy setting game.

Where is everyone going? I'd like some ideas and some discussions on what games offer what.

Star Trek Online, Champions Online (to get my hero fix) and the Secret World. Planetside 2 when it comes out. I was going to grab GW2.. but no. I don't think so.

I'm already playing SWTOR. Might start playing more Star Trek Online, and might try out Secret World. But yeah, not trying GW2 after this.

No idea. DCUO (even though I have a lifetime sub) is fail. Champions isn't my cup of tea. No idea where to get my hero fix.

Otherwise if they get their heads out of their butt, I'll stick with SWTOR.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

I'm going to spend more time doing my own games.

I had a long term plan to make an iPhone/Android super hero game, akin to Final Fantasy with turn based system and the like, plus City of Heroes-esque customization although at a cuter level.

I may hasten up those plans a bit.

I, too, am left homeless. This was the only MMO, no, only VIDEO GAME I played regularly.

I guess I can try DCUO and/or CO to get my superhero fix, except that I play on a Mac! Neither of those games are compatible for Macs as far as I know.

So yeah, I have no idea where I am going.

My new home is WildStar. Yes, it's another NCsoft Studio, but I blame the money not the people.

I'm already admin of the biggest WildStar community out there, so if my CoH friends can stomach it, you can find me at WildStar Central (Google us, I'll not be so crass as to post a link).

Otherwise I'm in the PlanetSide 2 beta, but that has no character akin to CoH. You'll find me here or there until WildStar releases.

No idea. COH is the only MMO I've ever tried (unless you count Kingdom of Loathing and Second Life as MMOs); I've never had any interest in any others. I'm a Mac user, which limits my choices further as well. I have a couple friends who are into STO -- maybe I'll let them talk me into trying it.

The Secret World, Champions Online. I might give SWTOR or DCUO another shot. Maybe I'll go outside.

I can't believe we're losing this IP. It's come so far.

Well, I was playing WoW before this. And I'm in no mood to go back.

I'll probably leave PC MMOs to the next generation of gamers and go back to consoles

CoH is the only game I've played for the past five or so years. Once the numbness wears off I'll probably go try DCU simply to see if it satisfies my super hero fix.

Guess I'll finally get around to buying/trying Diablo 3.

My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

Paragon Studios, thanks for all you've done. You've made this a great game, and a great community. I see this as six years well-spent. NCSoft, I'm seriously disappointed in you. This is not how you get or keep customers.

Honestly. I might try DCU, I didn't think much of Champions. But I'm just likely not going to play other MMOs. I've tried a few, none captured my attention and imagination like CoH did. It took 5 minutes for me to love this game (about the time I figured out my level 1 super hero could do a standing jump over a 6-8 foot tall fence, and I thought what a great way to capture being super even at a base level.)

So my characters will remain lost in the darkness until CoH2 or something like it comes around and gives me the chance to remake some and make new ones in a similarly creative way.

I feel lost - this has been my online community for 8 years.

I might not touch another MMO - well, maybe Wurm - but that's like a giant solo experience.

Yeah, I'm pretty much homeless too.

I play pen-and-paper RPGs. I hang out on the Hero Games forum where I post as Gojira and on RPG.net, where I post as GojiraRed.

My gamer tag on Steam is gameboy1234, if you want to friend me or drop me a note. Make sure to mention CoH so I know who the heck you are!

Other than that, no idea. I'll need to find some free game since nothing interests me right now very much.

I already play APB (I've never considered pay, though). I'll probably keep playing that, especially if they actually add the Nyan rocket launchers. It's basically the only game I consider to have superior character customization to that of CoH (although I hate the placeholder character model before peoples' character loads...)- although most of it's locked behind progressing through the grind (they don't have stories...).

I tried Champions Online twice, both times it was completely and totally unenjoyable. I bought Aion years ago, and never played past my free month (what a horrible game! why do other developers come up with a neat feature, and then try to make it totally inaccessible?), except for a short time with several friends on a free private server (that gave about 10x as much XP as on the live servers... it was still a slow grind fest...). I tried STO, but didn't like it. WoW's gameplay is crap, and looks like crap.

I guess I'll give TOR a chance once it's F2P. It has a bit of scifi, and it's not just elves in woods as someone else put so well. But, I don't have high hopes for it. Maybe some other non-generic-fantasy-elves-magic-everquest MMO will come around that lets you customize your character... maybe one day.

Already bought GW2 and have LTS's to STO and CO, along with free accounts at DDO, AoC, and LOTRO, but I'll probably never spend a dime on another game made by NCSoft, Cryptic, or BW for that matter after the stunts those three companies have pulled on their customers.

Edit: Secret World has a bunch of CoH people there and while it's no CoH I'm enjoying a completely different game experience.

Probably WoW where I have RL friends and as long as CO doesn't shut down I have a lifetime subscription there for my hero fix once CoH goes six feet under.

No new MMOs for me.

Maybe I'll fiddle with Champions Online a little again. But it never really caught my attention before, compared to CoH.

I think I'll spend the time instead working more on my pen-and-paper RPG campaigns.

And writing comic books. Without City of Heroes to distract me, the poor editor at AC Comics will be swamped with scripts I send in!

I did like Aion, but I'm not sure I really want to go back there now, or ever spend any amount of money on it. A friend of mine has been trying to get me into TOR, and since it's free I'll probably keep playing it for her sake. Maybe I'll see what Champions Online and DC Universe are about, to see if any of my characters here can survive in some incarnation there. Maybe Secret World, since it's supposed to have a very versatile character builder and a similarly modern, paranormal setting. But really, this is probably it for my MMO run save for being dragged along by a few friends here and there to help their characters. No game's ever going to match the expansive lore, the freedom to create your own character, or just the addictively fun gameplay of this one. I guess it'll be time to dust off the 360 and eventually get back to some of its neglected titles...
