Where are you going?

Most likely, FFXI while waiting for FFXIV:A Realm Reborn to kick in.

Not interesting in DCUO and CO, so no superhero fix for me. Will keep my eye out on things, because I hate the idea of losing the people I put work into.

I'll be going back to single player games. At least none of those companies have shown up at my house to take my game discs away.

Rohan!

I will be spending more time in Middle Earth with LOTRO. I have the Lifetime sub and would bounce between here and there.

I'll be here until the end. After that...
My regular SG/playgroup was already looking at GW2, and I might join them. They're distanced "enough" from NCSoft. I'd been looking forward to WildStar too, but now I'm less certain... not so much in a "boycott" sense, but what's to keep them from doing the same to it someday, even if it's a good game and a (moderate) success?

I've also been playing STO, trying my best to just enjoy the parts of the game I do and hold my nose when it comes to the new owners... but if it turns out that Perfect World does have anything to do with killing my beloved game (through withholding any rights they inherited from Cryptic and/or Atari), that may be the final straw.

I'll be in GW2. 2 of my CoH characters are already there (they can move between dimensions, natch, so why not?) and I'll be RPing it up on Tarnished Coast which, like Virtue long ago, was voted the "unofficial RP server."

If you see a Trillium of Amber or a Seven of Cups go by, give me a wave and sit down for some RP!

I loved The Secret World's phenomenal setting and atmosphere, but the game had some pretty serious performance issues on my three-year-old machine, so I haven't bought it after the beta ended. The combat system is disappointing and the physics engine is (like most MMO games) inferior to CoH, but it's still a roleplayer's dream game. I'll give it a go if I can manage to budget a new gaming box.

I might go back to Fallen Earth. That's another game that really worked for me from an immersion standpoint, and having real (that is, reticule, not tab) targeting in combat was a huge point in its favor. The constant parade of technical problems with the game? Not so much. I need to see if they've made progress, though. I could easily end up back there, at least for a while, if they finally got things to work properly after that botched port to a different server architecture.

I didn't hate CO...but I didn't love it, either. Some of my CoH friends are considering it, and those people are a big reason I've been here so long. We'll see...

GW2 is a possibility, too (although again, I may need a new computer). I play GW1, although not a lot lately, and I enjoy it.

This still feels like a punch in the gut...

Personally; I will be going anywhere except NCsoft or Perfect World Entertainment.

I am toying with SWTOR right now but it seems a grind so I may not stay there. Who knows in the future.

Maybe I will just finish the decorating?

I might go outside.

Who am I kidding, I'll probably get Minecraft, which I'm avoiding like a plague because the CoH base editor is bad enough. Maybe when I get the new computer I'll try out STO, but aside from that, no more MMOs for me.

Like a lot of other posters, I won't be giving NCSoft any more of my money. I hope they implode.

Had a look at the site and a couple of trailers, and I have to say that I think it looks quite promising. This coming weekend they currently have a 3 day free trial to celebrate their 1 month anniversary. I'm thinking of giving it a little look if I still feel too down to play CoH. But that said...I will NOT migrate games just yet. Hell no. Not until the servers go black and I can no longer log in,and then...then I will likely grieve for this game. I may not be ready to jump to another MMO for months.

I guess time will tell.

D3 is meh...more like World of DiabloCraft minigame in my mind.

GW2 is not getting my money anytime soon...period.

Who knows...maybe in a galaxy far, far away...

May try DCU but I am not too keen on the way that looks so far...CO...bleh..

I might just not play anything MMO until something grabs me again...CoH was so unique...nothing will fill the void I think.

So yeah, I have no idea where I am going.
I'm attempting a CO install on my 10.6 macbook using Crossover and some fanmade WINE skins. If it's successful, I'll be happy to post some links, providing anyone is interested.

Since I stopped playing CoH a couple of months ago, I've been playing Tera. I doubt that I'll stay with it long-term though; the combat is a lot of fun, but the community is terrible.

After that, I don't know. For the last few years, I've pretty much been an MMO tourist. CoH was the only one to which I'd keep returning. I don't really see a replacement for CoH in the foreseeable future either. I'll probably just end up spending much less time playing MMO's.

For those considering DCUO, keep in mind it has nowhere near the superhero character depth of CoH, despite being in the DCU.

The character creator is extremely limited, you have to farm a vast majority of the styles in the game by grinding instances.

The combat is very much console fighting designed, with weapon combos and active blocking and combat rolling (dodging) being required. If you can't get good at that type of combat system, forget about the high-end Alerts and Raids at level 30 (the level cap, which you will hit in little over a week even on limited play time). Also keep in mind the interview John Smedley (President of SOE) did a few weeks ago that stated 70% of the DCUO playerbase is on the PS3. No, the PS3 and PC do not share servers.

The Game Update 18, that just came off of test and is scheduled to go LIVE soon, altered PvE combat so that NPCs now perform active blocks, dodges, block breakers, and interrupts against the players-- as though you were in PvP against another player. In my opinion after testing it on the Test Server, it made PvE much more tedious. I've walked away from the game in anticipation of GU 18.

As much as I am not a fan of Champions Online-- if you are migrating from CoH to either CO or DCUO, I would suggest Champions unless you are seeking a superhero MMO experience completely different from CoH in all regards, and are good at console style combat.

I feel as confused as most of you over what to do. This game was unique, all my characters were unique... best I can hope for is some of my more straight forward heroic toons can get by on Champions but that's about it.

This isn't just another fantasy MMO where I can port my Elf Archer/ranger/hunter to some other game and be on my way. I have super powered merfolk, alien hybrids, sword wielding haunted samurai armor, and so much more that I just won't see again. This is really hard. This was the only MMO to really encourage me to be imaginative about everything I did, I loved it so much for that, and it's something I really can't get elsewhere. Not the same way.

*sigh*

I'm sure I'll figure something out eventually

I will probably bounce around a little bit in GW2 (had already purchased it, might as well still play it) and World of Warcraft (have real life friends who play it).

*shrugs*

To be honest, I have made lots of friends out of game from this game, and I feel that we will still stick together no matter the games we head to.

Side note: It kinda sucks that this announcement went out just a week before the EU City of Heroes player meet commences >.<
*Looks at your avatar*

So far World of Darkness is still going through with working on their new upcoming MMO so that will be my new MMORPG...shame it's not due until 2013 or 2014 : /

I can't stomach GW2...ever. The New Final Fantasy Patch looks kinda cool...might go there just because I have friends there.

All of the other Heroes games are Rubbish. I might consider The Secret World though...it's looks amazing and will somewhat feed my COH fix.

It's a little unclear to me exactly what NCSoft's goals are with their 'reorganization,' but they have the chopping block out already. I have to wonder if Wildstar won't be next up.

It's getting closer to happening, too many new games require a net connection :/

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

I will most likely go to single player games for a bit whilst working towards my Master's. I may check out Marvel Heroes when it eventually launches - none of the other super hero MMOs out right now are my cup of tea.

The only other MMO I've ever played (bar demos) is World of Tanks. And that's solidly a shooter rather than anything with depth. Still fun, sure, but....not CoH.

I'll drift, I guess, until Transformers Universe comes out, and Elder Scrolls Online.
Neither of those will fix the Paragon shaped holes in my heart and brain, though...

DCUO is the only game I've ever seen that actually gets more tedious and annoying each update. I bought a lifetime sub because even though I thought it had problems, I thought they could fix them. Bastids went and added new problems!

Ah well, if I ever get back into a SOE game, at least I'll have a ton of SC waiting for me.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Not the ones I play. And the few that have net access only have it turned on for patches. The rest of the time it's closed off. I avoid games that require full time net connections.

I downloaded it and tried to recreate some of my CoH characters there, but it was a visual disaster. As much talk as I've heard about CO having better anchor points and graphics, it just doesn't have the costume parts or powers to make them recognizable.
