  1. Hey all,

I'm not sure how many people are still poking there heads around these parts but I could sure use some help. I'm playing on the same laptop I've played City on for a couple of years now, with no major changes (Other than installing new AV, which I've completely disabled at this point.) When I go to launch the game, City comes up and sits on the splash page like it does before it asks you for your credentials to log in. But for me, it never finishes this stage.

One thing I've noticed, is if I check the process in Task Manager, the priority of City is set to Below Normal. I'm not sure how it got set that way, but I set it back to normal. If I relaunch the game, it's set back to Below Normal.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, I have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6070. It's been about a week since I've played, and the only thing that's changed is getting rid of AVG and installing BitDefender. I had a few hiccups with this AV, but I've been able to remedy them all by making a few changes in the settings and such, but I've tried it all, and at this point the BitDefender is not active. (Running, not active) My next step is just rebooting with it not set to run on startup and see where that takes me. Anything you can do would be appreciated!

    Thanks

UPDATE: Completely disabling BitDefender has remedied the situation. Does anyone else use this AV that could assist in making the two run simultaneously? If not, I suppose it's not a big deal...

  3. IGN says Nov 30, so we have a little bit. I'd be down for something this Sunday on my warshade. Add me ingame with @Anilo.

I am not certain if being buffed with powers such as tactics or fortitude or fulcrum shift would affect those powers. But I am sure they would be effective enough to where even Peacebringers should consider taking Bright Nova so they can do things like exemplar down and still have at least two single target attack powers and a cone attack AOE attack, plus an AOE attack. But this idea really saves alot of slots and it takes a tiny bit of the stress of slotting a Kheldian out.

    My two cents
No. Do not take my fully slotted form attack powers away. That's where I get almost 60% of my recharge, and my Force Feedback Procs. Terrible idea.
  5. And also, if you're on Freedom, I'd be more than happy to run a few missions with you and give you pointers along the way. My global is @Anilo
    Just let me know!
  6. I definitely don't think it's an issue of whether you suck or not. To clarify, you're not trying to take the alpha when you're grouped, right? That can be done with little to no problems when you've got Eclipse and your strategy down, but it can be an issue without those two things.

    I definitely agree.

I had a great paragraph typed out with some pointers, when I accidentally hit back and it all went poof. I'll give a condensed version.

If you're worried you might go down, and for some reason you can't Stygian Circle (no bodies, no end, mezzed) you could take/use Nebulous Form. It's not a game changer, but it'll help out in the times where you really need a second to recover. I mostly use it to get through crowded doorways (curse you MMs.)

Maybe find/create a bind for your targeting that auto-targets mobs of interest for you. (Cysts, Voids, Quantums, Sappers, Surgeons, are what I target first.)

Instead of TPing in/out of mobs all the time, try jumping out from Dwarf (after miring) and shift to Nova in mid-air. This gives you some backwards inertia and lets you get a good view of the mob for AoEs.

    Hope this helps!
  8. Stygian Circle isn't just for cleaning up after mobs. As long as there is a single corpse near you, it's worth using if you think you're about to die. It has a quick recharge, so don't feel like you're wasting it on just a body or two.

Eclipse is a game changer. Perma-Eclipse and you're a tankmage. I would suggest at least toughing it out until you can get Eclipse slotted. If by then you still don't like it, I know of a decent mental hospital that might be able to admit you.

They've already said there is a 'minimal Fx' option for Bio Armor, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  10. Freedom Heroes killed the Head last night... Got merits for it. Then hundreds of more tentacles spawned, I got tired of having 1fps. Mako disappeared for a few minutes, then finally spoke in Global again saying he gets terrible service in the ocean and his computer had crashed.
  11. Superior Conditioning is a static +5 Endurance added to your bar. So, instead of having 100 Endurance, you would now have 105. It's a passive, always-on, power.
  12. Also, I would think the Chance for Build Up Proc would be better served in Nova Form, but do correct me if I'm wrong. If you're going to slot Stygian Circle for heal, I'd put 5-piece Doctored Wounds in it, but it really isn't necessary.

I would get rid of Gravimetric Snare, but I've never been a big fan of the power. Instead, maybe think about taking Gravity Shield to hold another Steadfast KB IO. I hate knockback with a fiery passion so I have 8pts of protection on mine, though in most normal cases 4pts should be more than enough. As far as Eclipse slotting goes, you could probably get away with only 4 slots, if you frankenslot. I'm at work and can't see my build so I can't say exactly what mine has in it, but I know they are 2 Acc/Recharge and 2 Resistance/Recharge IOs.

I would also think about putting a Force Feedback +Rech proc in the AoE nova attacks. They proc very often in my experience.

As far as incarnates go, if you are explicitly tanking, I would use the Melee Hybrid. If you are only off-tanking (i.e. bringing extra mobs to the group for the hell of it) I would take Damage Hybrid and enjoy double-hit. I take Clarion on my Warshade. I enjoy having it to rely on if I need to drop from Dwarf mid-fight against mezzers.

I mean the always part. Obviously Kheldians won't always outperform.
  14. I have a really hard time understanding how one could play a Kheldian (warshade even moreso) and say they'll always be weaker.
  15. I can post my build later when I'm home and just give you an idea of what is extremely successful for me.

He runs a constant 45% defense Ranged/Aoe 33% Psi, uses hover and Force Bubble to avoid melee. Has 44% resist S/L and 35% resist Psi.
A few of his exploits can be found in my Sig: the RWZ challenge and Herding a tower on the ITF.
I've seen said exploits in action, and this character is quite sturdy. I honestly think I've seen this character dead maybe once.
    Nice going, Krogoth.

My suggestion: A Warshade. Get Eclipse Perma, maybe grab some extra Defense if you can, and you're gold. My build (below) focuses primarily on Recharge bonuses. A build mixed with more defense would be more survivable, but I get along just fine.

I beg YOUR pardon. You can have all of these with the current system.
The OP is asking for a 5th pool set, not a 5th pool power. As in, being able to take: Fitness, Speed, Concealment, Leadership, and Leaping, for whatever reasons.
  19. Below is my build. Only one purple set so far, but I'm saving for more. It gets the job done. Perma-Eclipse, Perma-Hasten, Sunless Mire is almost perma, and Dwarf Mire double-stacks easy.

Stamina is not necessary. Not by a long-shot.

  20. I don't PvP much, but whenever I think SC I think Siren's Call. Steel and Skyway is normally what I refer to those zones as.

    WS Build?

This is my build right now.
I'm still working with it. I plan on slotting Purples eventually.
    Perma-Hasten, Perma-Eclipse.
I know Grant Invis slotting is like, "WHAT?" but oh well. It works for me
I'll be messing with it some more, but I don't want to lose a lick of recharge.
So if you want to suggest something, feel free to PM me.

What? Am I the only thinking Warshades here? :P
  24. I would love something like this.
Whenever it gets going, shoot me a tell at @Anilo.
I'll keep on reading this thread, but in case I can't.
