Quote:Maybe you need to broaden your scope of history, no winners in war? really?Damn straight.
If you'd like to disagree tell it to the thousands of Americans that died in our most recent wars overseas.
[...]
Nope. There are no winners in war. Just survivors.

tell that to the millions of Jews rescued from the gas chambers
tell that to the slaves freed by the north
tell that to the Kuwaitis who we freed from Saddam's invasion.
history is more than 20 years long -
define giving up... no, I have moved on. there are other thing more pressing on my plate than to continue investing time in a game that will not be around in 20 days. And in all honesty, my dogs are happier that they are seeing more of me

I'm Huge fan of CP2020 so I hope this does well (was R.Tal's volunteer webmaster for a few years), but after CP3 I'm going to take a wait and see approach.
I think CP3s problem were it didn't really build on the popularity of CP2020, (for the reasons it was popular), it changed to the Fuzion system, and Mike made a bad decision on the artwork in CP3 (i.e. Barbiepunk)
I still run the (aging) Rust Never Sleeps CP website @ www.paper-dragon.com -
uhhh, they just described BBS door games from the 80s...

no more MMOs for me, stayed away until a little over 2 years ago, dove in head first, fully vested my time and energy (I knew that would happen), only to have it ripped out from under me (and I knew that would eventually happen).
I have seen how much my life was devoured by this game, but it was not wasted time.
From now on, if Im going to do any kind of multiplayer it will be around a game table or on a server I control... Torchlight 2 looks pretty good right now. -
what makes me saddest (besides the layoffs that affect real peoples lives) is the fact that CoH, and the friends we made here helped my wife though a rough patch in her life, it kept her mind off of her having breast cancer.
No, that's not what makes me sad, what makes me sad is they found cancer again Monday, and there wont be CoH to help her though this time. (we wont know the extent until Monday) -
doesn't matter who took it, NCsoft owns the rights to it

you forgot that we also had all the food for a big party prepped and ready to be delivered, but they ambushed the truck and put a bullet through the driver's head.

I'm as furry as the original Eastman & Laird "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (in otherwords, no, not really) though I had a few in the game (Chili Dog, Fishstix, PrimeRib, Flip the Bird, Moon Dog Alpha)

Quote:I know how they work, I had saved it to my hard drive as a gif image, but I lost it when I swaped computers at work. I do not know who the user was that had the avatar.Avatars just links to where you had stored it. They never hosted the avatars. Most people used photobucket or similar service. You could check your User CP and see if the link is still there. It may give you an idea where to look at least.
oh well, thanks anyway, I knew it was going to be a long shot -
Looks like I will be working on my telnet BBS again, Ive neglected it far to long... I'm doing a rebang of Tradewars 2002 this Saturday, so if anyone feels nostalgic come on by http://www.gargoyleslanding.com for some old style text/ANSI based fun. I don't think that a Superhero door game is available though
-
I saved it, but apparently I lost it somewhere, Im pretty sure it came from the CoH boards
it is a black and white movie with what looks like a flying fortress in an air battle... can anyone direct me in the right direction? -
nowhere for me... the only one that interested me WAS GW2, no more. going to miss all the fine folks I have teamed with over the last 2 years. Guess Ill have more time to do other things... like work on the P&PRPG game Ive been working on and painting the 200+ miniatures I purchased from the Reaper Kickstarter

Quote:Nevermind, forgot the limitation on PFF... not such a big deal nowI have a Water/Ice blaster and the initial plan was to get cold mastery for it. he's at 50 now, but I find the only powers from Cold I use is snow storm and ice armor (is IOed for DEF)
while playing with Misd I see what happens when you swap out cold for Force, all of the sudden he is a tank with DEF in the 92-102% range and close to 75% RES smash lethal without FoN being used... Is snow storm that great of a power that I shouldn't switch to Force? -

before the changes I couldnt get a stalker above lvl 20, now I have a StJ/DA stalker that is probably the funnest toon I have. Im also working on a DB/Energy Aura one, but Im not enjoying it as much

thanks so much for putting this together (again) hyperstrike, sorry we had to bail, the missus was in a bunch of pain, otherwise we would have hung around a lot longer. It was nice meeting all the folks that were there, bunch of new faces this time. Hopefully I'll be seeing you in the game!
-
what happens? apparently a lot of waiting around, and no xp for defeating lvl 54 bosses. glad I didnt transfer my alt from Virtue to Exalted (since I wouldnt be able to make the virtue one)
-
is the event supposed to give no XP?
-
hope the stuff is account wide, I'm sure a lot of folks are going to be at the meet and greet at GenCon while the virtue event is happening

problem with that is (from what I can tell) is the moon is on one layer, the clouds and sky are on another, as is stands right now you can see the clouds through the moon, giving the appearance of the moon being behind the clouds (as it should be) if you make the moon more opaque it will look like the moon is in front of the clouds.

Quote:now that might be an idea... 300 codes, instead of having a large number of people vying for 10-15 codes at a time, how about a list of 300 all at once? then it isn't a matter of speed per se, but a matter of picking one that isnt being claimed. Was there ever a point, perhaps later in the evening, when the codes weren't getting snatched up within a few seconds? When it slowed down to a point that an average person might have a real chance of getting a code?
Or, to put it another way - were 300 US codes enough? Not enough? Too many?
And, are you at least considering other options for this event? or is this pretty much how it's gonna go from here on out? -
what I find amusing is they are trying to "build" their twitter community. last week they gained almost 600 people (or the equivalent or approx 85 people a day) so far for this "promotion" they have gained 17. there is no need to follow, no need to interact, just camp on the webpage and wait for the announcement.
