Would You Be Willing to Delay the Lore Slot to Change the Pets?
nope
I think you hit the nail on the head in another thread. Tying powers so directly to lore, a la PPP's, is not an idea that sits well with players. Full customization of these pets is probably beyond the scope of current development, but I would gladly embrace more general concepts.
I would if it meant that you could create the costume that the pet uses.

Nope but I'm not a big fan of having a slot being a pet either.

Yep, totally. If they go in as is they will remain that way pretty much forever.

Yes
But not if it will delay the other slots, judgement, interface, and destiny.

I'm game with having them delay it if it meant we either got more options, or at least got some basic powersef combinations we could costume edit away into what works for us.
As it is, it will most likely end up unlocked, empty and unused by me. Unless of course there's a sideperk like level shift that I REALLY need and/or I have enough shards/threads to throw away.
But if other people dig it, that's fine with me. I don't have to like everything.
Yes, and I'd be willing to delay the entire incarnate system if that would let them uncouple it from the terribad Well/Praetoria storyline.

If it delays issue 20? NO I agree that only giving us the option for Praetorian Pets sucks but I am not SO upset by the idea I want to delay the next issue just to revamp that. Hopefully we get more options or IF we complain enough we could get a patch 20.5 (?) that adds more.
As for you hoping that future 50+ content will get away from Praetoria I'd have to say you are going to be disappointed. From what is now posted on Issue 20 not only do we get the two new trials, BAF and Lamda, that both take place in Praetoria but one of the two new 20-40 level TFs revolves around Col Duray of Preatoria joining forces with Col Duray of the Skyraiders. Prior to this no one saw any content that involved the Praetorians until after level 40 when you start to get missions from Tina on Peregrine Island. All the end game content seems to be focused around Emperor Cole and his minons.. Apex TF, Tin Mage TF and now the BAF and Lamda Section trials. About the only thing we got that doesn't involve them is the new Cathedral of Pain and you don't have to be anywhere near 50 level to join that.

Yes I would support a delay for lore if it meant more dev time so that it wouldn't saddle me with fixed pets and allow for a bit more flexibility on design.

[edit] But only if the replacement is actually good, and actually written well, and doesn't involve Marcus Cole in any of his incarnations except maybe Statesman in a minor role.

lol this is what you get for being a rper and caring wear powers come from. Their new powers we get so no I wouldn't want them delaying anything cause some people don't think they fit in there characters storyline. No one cares about your characters story but you.(general you)
Oh and I just wanna say they are video game writers some of you people expect to much of them. This aint Stan Lee writing this stuff it's generic dev 27.
Nope.

Stan Lee was allegedly an extremely lazy writer. Besides, silver age comics are hardly examples of great writing.
Why shouldn't I expect good writing from video game writers when I've gotten good writing from video game writers in the past? And why shouldn't I expect good writing from professional video game writers when I get good writing from amateur video game writers?

Absolutely yes. Delay if need be please.
No, because it would be futile to try and change the pets.
Don't want Praetorian pets? Well, what should they be then? You'll get a ton of different answers for this one; how are the devs to determine which 4 enemy groups make the cut? People will still complain if their desired NPC group isn't in there.
What's that? Expand the Lore slot so that there are more than 4 choices? Sure! How many do you want? 8? 12? 24? Nevermind the fact that the Incarnate interface may not be capable of handling any more than 4 path choices per slot. Also, if it Is possible to expand upon the number of path choices in the Lore slot, why not expand upon the path choices for ALL slots? Judgement only has fire, ice, energy, and negative energy attacks; where are the psionic, smashing, lethal, and toxic choices? I'm sure it wouldn't take up MUCH development time and resources ...
Also, from what I understand based on the European Lambda preview, slots are gradually unlocked by earning "Incarnate XP" during trials, and that there are multiple types of this XP. Well, what if BAF grants a certain type of Incarnate XP, and Lambda grants a different type? What if delaying the Lore slot means that players CAN'T earn one of the specific types of Incarnate XP? Is that fair to those who have no real problems with the Lore slot?
...
Delaying one slot in order to make changes which are vague and undefined beyond "No Praetorians!" is NOT, in my opinion, worth pulling the art, powers, animation, and programming teams from whatever else they're working on (baring in mind that our development team usually works well ahead of what we see on our end), because all those teams would need to be involved on some level. I'm not the biggest fan of all the Lore pets being Praetorian NPCs either. But it's not intolerable, and I'm certainly not going to suggest that the devs break their schedule in order to accommodate nebulous player demands based solely upon aesthetic issues.
Positron: "There are no bugs [in City of Heroes], just varying degrees of features."
Yes. I'd rather see something that gives us at the very least different skin options to choose from on these pets, if not full-fledged customization.
Just curious about this. I know that the alpha slot was delayed for a few months to change it up. Obviously I have no experience with the Lore slot directly, but if there is truth to the claim that it grants us Praetorian pets, it would be worth the wait to me to change it. Or leave it be and add other pets as well. I don't want to be too negative about it, but my feeling about the concept of Praetorian pets as a power selection is that it's a terrible idea.
This is assuming there isn't another option on the table for us. E.g. I would be willing to trade the pet power for 2 or 3 extra enhancement slots, as long as I got the level shift. Obviously I don't know everything that is planned, but I am very much not pleased by the Praet concept. In fact, the less future content has to do with Praetoria the better.
I'm curious about whether other people would also be ok with slot being delayed to "fix" it to something more appropriate, whatever that is. This is not an attempt to enforce that change on people, but hopefully to register just how unimpressed I am with this power from a concept standpoint.
