That is also quite a bit pretentious...

Thankfully, the cycle of pretentiousness can stop with me since I have no reason to be pretentious.
but I just was pretentious wasn't I?

Of course, I do have this other career I can fall back on.
In other words, you'd be the Daniel Jackson of COH rednames.

You'd Ascend, promptly start breaking the rules of how to interact with mere mortals, and get busted out of your Ascended status, and everyone would realize you were more useful pre-Ascension anyway. You'd probably even bring back some residual knowledge from your brief time on the higher plane which you could put to good use later.

And yet it's an informative benchmark for long-time forum readers.

"The Devs are so busy, they aren't even able to give Arcanaville the time of day? Holy *bleep*, they must really be up to their armpits in stuff...."

I guess I can see reading it that way, but I read it as "I, someone who has a long history of active communication with the devs through channels that I have managed to open in the past, am having a hard time communicating with them now."

I mean, she could have meant "Even Arcanaville, mistress of all space and time, cannot get them to address Us," but I didn't assume it was meant that way...

Neither did I.

And say what you might about not liking parts of what they are doing, but the team HAS been releasing epic amounts of content lately. Between GR-I20 has been A ******** of content. We've already had 19.5 and 20 is right around the corner. Not to mention the Animal Pack. Me thinks this will be another big content year. ;D

Now *that's* pretentious, that you're certain you're more Bug Hunter-worthy than I am. At one time, I was told that a fair assessment of Bug Hunter was to report a bug that was so large in size and scope that a failure to address it promptly would be so catastrophic that it would require a roll back of the entire game to a point before the bug was exploited. I said at the time that I never reported such a bug, so I wasn't sure why I received Bug Hunter when I did.

However, the threshold doesn't seem to be that high. Excluding that (and in fact I've subsequently found bugs that arguably could be considered that large in theory) its a fairly safe assumption my resume for Bug Hunter is not inferior to yours. Unless yours has:

a. A bug that affects the survivability of every single player that plays the game, regardless of what they play and how they play it

b. A bug that would require rewriting significant parts of the game client to address if it was widely exploitable

and

c. Multiple bug reports with over 100 individual bugs listed involving powers, critters, and effects.

I'm not worried.

Also, when I say its difficult for me to get the attention of the devs, I'm simply stating the fact that I almost always get through when they are not busy by one communications channel or another, and conversely when they are busy I sometimes don't, and this seems to be one of those times.

Unless NCSoft has banned them from talking to me, which I suppose is theoretically possible, albeit weird. I'm pretty sure I would have heard about it if that happened by now.

No, it was meant in the "They swore an Oath in blood and ash, they swore an Oath in tooth and skin, they swore an Oath in bile and tears. Three times they swore, three times they knelt, three times their honor bound. Though tied to me by bonds obscure, sinuous and strong, they come not when I bid them."

Hmm...

Well saying the name three times usually works for summoning Troy Hickman...wonder if it will work for a redname.

Noble Savage!
Noble Savage!
Noble Savage!

Well he is lead art designer so it seems like it would be worthwhile. Though I imagine the man is probably a tad too busy dealing with other stuff to respond.

Still worth a shot of the old voodoo to see if it works.

I'm pretty sure you only have to mention Hickman once.

Because the pets are not "real" pets - they're the essence of defeated Incarnate-empowered enemies that you draw from the Well, so only Incarnate-empowered enemies would be available to you - and so far, the only Incarnate-empowered enemies we've fought have been the Praetorians.

I've seen this tidbit before, but... is this fact? I don't recall seeing that from the Lore leaks...

What? Conquering all of space and time just to get the Devs to listen to you?

I guess it's sort of classic supervillain motivation. "When I am Mistress of EVERYTHING, then they will HAVE to listen to me... They won't be able to ignore me THEN!"

Admittedly, Heroes aren't the only ones becoming Incarnate. Technically, due to how many recent content pieces seem to be about villains gaining/seeking the power of the incarnates, it would (be unbalanced but) make a lot of sense if Villains ended up with theirs a lot earlier on.

Though, hey, it is only a project essence of a seer and not a real one. I'll admit, there's a lot of ways you could try to play this, but for me, as an RPer with good imagination who's even been able to side step my characters actually BEING incarnates (merely becoming more awesome), I'm pretty sure I could come up with some clever explanation or get one from a friend. (Hell, my RP group was able to help me justify my Cold War era robot having willpower*)
But the Praetoria and Cole w#$k fest leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, almost as though Jack Emmert's gotten back into the lead dev seat again and wants to cram down out throats how amazing Alternate Statesmans are and the stuff they have at their disposal.

*As they put it: "They have willpower as a completely implacable robot, completely unfeeling to the meager assaults of mere bullets and blades"

If anything, Arcanaville's title should be an equation. I think that sums it up nicely.

Actually, given all the testing she did to work out the details of Arcanatime, I think she already is basically the "Mistress Of Time" in the context of CoH.

Okay, weird... So they aren't even Praetorians at all, but more like the reflections in the Shadow Shard? I... don't know if that makes the Lore pets more or less broad a theme that I originally thought.

Also... is this what's on Test now? That's the Incarnate powers menu, and I'd DEARLY love to see what the other powers look like (mostly Interface and Destiny)...

Lump me in with the players who would prefer a Lore pet that is themed to the character and not to Praetoria.

If only one pet can be added to the present list, I'd take an energy pet, say, something like a PB's Photon Seeker. (This has recently been adapted for use in WL realm as a Northern Light.) Other forms currently used as pets could include Unchained Nictus and Voltaic Sentinel bodies. These could be recolored if there is a desire to make them visually distinct from current player pets.

Alternatively, use the PB Lightform energy body, or a slightly tweaked version thereof, if a full-sized body is needed for power compatibilities.

IIRC, years ago a data mining result was posted that showed that a high percentage of toons created by players had the magic origin. Since Praetoria is overwhelmingly science origin, despite the activity of the "magical" Well of Furies, it clashes a lot with magical player concepts.

I'm a player in the mostly magic demographic. Of the 6 toons I have at incarnate level right now, 5 are magic and one is mutant. All of the toons I have on Virtue, Pinnacle, Protector, and Triumph are magic, and so are many of the rest of my toons.

A neutral energy body pet would go a long way toward satisfying the needs of magical toon players as well as science and other origins. I think it should also be easy for the powers / animations team to add bodies like these to the list of pets, since these bodies don't change animation when using powers.

If an explanation is needed for this unshaped power of the Well, um, just call it Unshaped Power of the Well, or something similar.

Another neutral pet form would be the one used for the waterspout PPP power.

It may be possible to take a recolored energy pet and make it an alternative form for each of the Praetorian pets. Just copy over the powers from the Praetorian pet and use the standard energy pet animation.
