  1. Well, we just completed a very smooth Posi part 1. The rest of the team looked like they were heading into part 2, but I wasn't able to stay.

It looked like the event was pretty successful, at least on Virtue.
  2. Thank you very much, Organica.
  3. My friend and I are trying to kit out his stalker at last. If you could please, we'll take the Stalker's guile set.

Lot 8 @Malli would help us tremendously.
  4. I first bought the game when I was at college, not realizing I'd need an internet connection to play, so the disc sat around for about a semester before a friend asked me about it and we tried it out. We roped a few other guys into playing for a while, but only two of us really got into it, but even out interest waned after a while. When CoV came around my friend pulled me back into it and I've been here ever since.

If money and time hadn't been so tight in those days, I wish I could have been around a bit more. The gaps in time that I've played have left me with a few global friends that I simply can't recall.

Yeah. The ignorant. Good way to word that when it comes to someone's opinion of a game they obviously dislike, and care to share views about while also reaching out with an open minded question at the end about how those reading feel. Including the people his words impacted, and the writer has not moderated a single post in the flame war that ensued.

    =) I'd say he's a pretty cool guy.
Ignorant - Lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular

Considering how he describes the situation and the playerbase and his factual errors (ignoring that WoW offers limited F2P), it is obvious that the author is lacking knowledge surrounding the subjects he addresses. That fits the very definition of ignorant.

None of the poses struck me as appealing. The vixen stance seemed back-breaking, the neutral was too slouched, and heroic didn't suit the character well.

Though I shouldn't complain too much... Walk isn't suitable for the vast majority of my female characters here.

    Confessions

I used Dominate and Mesmerize to attack the yellow Mitos during Hami raids because neither attack is flagged as ranged.

And I would do it again.
  8. I appreciate the CO community's receptiveness, but I don't think I'll be headed there any time soon. I downloaded the client, created an ok looking character, and started the tutorial. The way the female characters move and hold their stances was very unappealing. While the open form character creation is interesting, the style is what prevents me from enjoying the game.

I may have gone Wind/Dark. I've seen Dark Affinity colored to resemble sand. Put the two together and you have a nice sandstorm.

Not final in any way, I just wanted to see if it'd render. It made my computer cry the whole time.
    Sweet googly moogly!

  12. Leo, your pic is now up on Kotaku. I just mode a post there to acknowledge that it was your work.
  13. I think we crashed the server. And the rally just got mentioned on Kotaku.
  14. With the end looming in sight, I want to say thank you to the good folks that frequent the controller boards.

From my very first foray into Paragon City I've been a controller player. I started with a grav/kin, a grisly old man (whose name I've forgotten) whom I abandoned in the Hollows. My next attempt was a mind/emp with the unfortunately spelled name of Tirage. Eventually controllers started to click into place with my ill/kin and earth/storm. That ill/kin would later become my first 50 and has been my global name for quite some time (@Malli). Eventually, I would take all the control primaries to 50 with a few making repeated trips. The last character I log will be a controller.

But, none of this would have been possible without the insights and help of the many kind people that populate this particular AT. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped guide my experience, but many of those names are lost to time. However, I can offer my thanks to the following: Local Man, Oedipus Tex, Tater Todd, Boomie, Magicj, Etnantiodromos, Maud_dib (rest in peace), UnicyclePeon, Laevateinn. You have all made my game experience more enjoyable, informed my decisions, and challenged my ideas. Thank you all and to the many others I can't recall.

    The Last Day

I'd like to see a Rularuu invasion. Unfortunately, that's not a coded event so it would take the devs manually spawning mobs and controlling AVs which isn't likely to happen. I do hope the players can come up with suitably epic adventures for that day though.
  16. Such a shame. I was saving points for this. When I heard it wouldn't go live I used them on Water Blast instead.

Certainly would never delete anything I put time into, whether it's an MMO character or personal writing or whatnot.

    Good advice Tony!
I have given away a couple hundred million (not much to some, but I sizable chunk of my assets) so some folks can finish their dream builds. I'd encourage anyone considering hitting delete to be a little charitable if they still intend to wipe their characters.

You don't have to like Wikia. I don't either, particularly. But at least be fair in your criticisms. The supposedly PIGG dived information has proven, repeatedly, to be accurate when verified.
The simplest answer to that is that the information is subject to change... or simply not be implemented in the game. There have been past powersets revealed by pigg diving that have never reached fruition and some that have.
  19. A good time for a quote from Beta Ray Bill...

Earthquake-Fun stuff to watch do its stuff. Six slot with Kinetic Crash IOs. It increased the knockback effects plus I got some extra regen, kb protection, and recharge. Probably some other stuff I hardly noticed.
You'd probably get much more utility out of Earthquake slotting for to hit debuff. Enhancing knockback actually decreases the mitigation by tossing enemies out of it's knockdown and to hit debuff. Enhance the debuff and it retains the utility of knockdown and increase mitigation of the debuffing.

Otherwise, my own power usage is a lot like yours. Stoney is probably the all star of controller/dom pets, in my opinion. The overall versatility of Earth has always made it one of my favorite sets, along with its obvious visuals and booming sounds. I've played it to 50 as both an earth/storm troller and earth/fire dom and thoroughly enjoyed both times.
  21. A personal thanks to you, Magic. Your wartroller guides changed the way I thought about playing my trollers a long, long time ago.

I get the feeling you won't be alone there. That's one of the places that I've considered to wait for the end.
  24. I was working on getting every AT to 50, but I had a long way to go. I've got a Fortunata at 49 and a tank at 40 that I had been working on. I had plans for a claws/bio armor brute that I won't be seeing. Others were still nebulous; some were already in the works.

With the end coming, I think I'm just going to focus on past characters that I already have and enjoy. Mostly, I'll be spending less times with pugs and more time with the friends I've made in game, whatever they may be doing.
  25. I remember when we hunted Outbreak for the Isolator badge.
