  1. Uh.. did I see customized pets in the article pics??

Have not been active in Coh for a while, so maybe it is old news.

But if they can do that and are doing that, can we have for Masterminds too??

/em trying to not get too excited..

    Base items please.

Many great art assets are in the game already, tell them that those pool tables, fountain/hot tubs (like in founder's falls, one of them is even already steaming), juke boxes, pinball machines, beer taps, paintings, heck even some of the car models to make a garage.. you could sell tons of base items and and I believe many of us would snap them up at the right price.

Also, adding in a base item as a reward from some missions, so that the market is not the only place to get base items, would spice up (re) playing some missions. Yeah, I want another mech-bot from that council arc to stand in the corner, or that bit of Cimmeroran statuary that I brought back, etc.

I guess that is one way to get around the "can't be in sunlight" restriction, heh.

You just needed a catalyst to jar your brain into a eureka moment. Glad you found a way to make it work from all the brainstorming.

Hmm, brain in a jar, storm powers.. naw, I have enough alts.

Well, if you can think of a reason the vampire would leave the tank of holy water attached that keeps his head from regenerating, or why it is there in the first place.. eh, probably too many no-prizes needed to flesh that one out in any usable way.

Edit: though I suppose the constant burn of the water could be his or her concept of a "hair shirt".
  5. Both the Emperor's yelling as he falls, and the beginning of the Krayt dragon call sound really fake and un-pro, I feel we are getting our legs pulled here.

If it did actually turn out to be true that these changes were actually made, infinite facepalms, cause it doesn't improve a thing, far from it.
But I don't believe it, even though Lucas has shown in the past that he does not "get it" enough for folks to believe he would do this, this feels fake according to a gut feeling and my ears.
  6. I'm picturing Dexter just standing there, shaking the broken light bulb. A light bulb with City of Heroes tournament written on it. That same look.
  7. Very much looking forward to Guild Wars 2.

Hopefully, and I suspect it is so, that NCsoft will offer a station pass type option so I can dabble without restrictions in GW2, Wildstar, and continue City of Heroes, otherwise it almost seems these would compete with each other? I can't afford to be a premium player in all 3, yet can't (or don't want to) choose, and dislike restrictions on non premium free to play so want to pony up full price for whatever one I have to choose.

The new integration of City of Heroes having to use the NCsoft launcher, going f2p, etc. makes me feel they have a plan. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

I see in my "powers" folder for things I have silenced Hurricane_loop.ogg, so that is probably it.

And for the poser above that, I can't remember for certain but try for dark servant darkarmor.ogg and darkarmor2.ogg

edit: I'm pretty sure that darkarmor isnt fluffy, just dark armor itself alas, still looking to silence fluffy myself.

Yes, I can write like JJ Abrams!

Yeah, but then we have to think about what the Borg are like after assimilating Mudd. Now that is just creepy.

  10. Currently 766. I'd have at least a third more, but I lost my most recent folder in a power surge induced hard drive problem a few months ago, and had to reload from a year old backup of the costume folder, arg.
  11. However, I DO like that black is almost invisible when it comes to coloring some powers.. unobtrusive force field bubbles, ahhh.

What we need is a color pallet revamp so we can have colors seprate from intensity, but yeah I know coding time, swamped, would like to but.. we can dream though, right?
  12. If for example deciding to change something like Superjump to include cracks in the ground when landing, please make such a thing an option only if possible.

Character themes vary wildly, and using the superjump example, one person's hard-landing Hulk type superjumper vs. someone's light-landing ninja superjumper would make cracks in the ground for all superjump landings frustrating. Which comes right back to power customisation for power pools, oops, sorry. Hard to seperate these things.
  13. Ah, another year, another opportunity to beg for a couple changes that I have wanted to see for a loooong time:

Hasten would benefit from a minimal effects setting please. Speed need not be expressed by catching on fire.

The Medicine pool seems limited as is by it's tech looking effect. Something that could be generically used to represent energies that might be magic or mutant powers would also be nice, just some gestures or whatnot.

Edit: for example with the medicine pool, I used to have a sword and sorcery type knight that would interrupt aid self back when that was possible with the victory emote. emotes also did not yet make one's weapon disappear during the emote. The result was he would raise his magic sword over his head (I have the power! haha) and would glow green as his magic blade healed some of his woulds. Also worked nice with the attack emote combined with aid other and the blade would seem to cast healing energies on allies. That rocked. Being able to use magic again for healing in some way instead of using the medicine pool tricorder would be great, even if we can't keep our weapons out anymore.. though being able to have effects with various powers that use our current weapon model would be fantastic.

You KNOw that someone will go make a fire blaster or something named "Mel the Cook" now, right?
  15. 1: Hasten! Hasten would drop the fiery hands effect, absolutely.

2: get them to cram in as many goodies for bases as possible from already existing in-game models. I'd make sure the first one would be a swim-able pool like in that one Cimerora cave map, or swimable Ouroborous pool. (the pool in Ouroboros used to be swimable). Then pool tables, vending machines, the new flat computer screens, etc. Look though the model files and go nuts making packs of base rewards for supergroup bases.

  17. I use up all 5 costume slots like they are potato chips, munch they are all gone.

Some games, costume bits are equipment, and you can take off a hat by removing a hat.

Here, I use two identical costumes, one with the helmet/hat/ on, one with the hat/helmet/jacket/glasses whatever off for example. Helmet off, helmet on, helmet on but visor up.. /em takes off his helmet as he sits down for the supergroup meeting..

Maybe a swim trunks costume for that rare beach superhero social. Any clothes changes have to be a whole new costume slot. A few of my characters even change into a suit to do business at Wentworths, day trading. A stealth black version of my superhero outfit.. or jeans and t shirt for pocket D. I always have more, and some are trivial enough to just RP around, but I still have fun using up all 5 costume slots easily. I don't NEED more, 5 works okay, but it would further fuel the CoH addiction for some of us.

I understand how people that stay in their superhero outfit all the time would not feel the costume slot devouring problem, and that is understandable. Just throwing in another for the costume slots anonymous group.

I can deal with continuing to have just 5 costume slots, I was so surprised and pleased when we got that many, but I sure would not hesitate to fork over money for more.
  18. Pre-I13, I liked the way pvp was not yet a bizzarro world where powers worked so very very much different than what I had learned in the regular game.

Some differences sure, but it still made way more sense to the regular joe wanting to check out this pvp stuff. I was just starting to like pvp, and convincing a couple friends to come join me, then wham!
  19. Yeah, some of the animal heads need to be able to be scaled much larger and have the necks be a bit longer. The female heads I find more problem with this than the male heads.

That and the textures for high heel but not flat feet disparity are my biggest problems. Clipping, no biggie to me, I can work around it, better to have clipping and select what works with it instead of not getting the awesome new parts.

Great pack, love the textures and the meshes, just needs a few tweaks still.. and a part 2 and 3.

Yeah, I'll feel stronger, you are correct.. as long as they do not put those same TF foes and AVs in the new missions with them now suddenly stronger as well, that is my fear.

I want them to come up with new challenges that feel like they need the new incarnate power heroes, and hopefully not just say that many our old foes are now also incarnate powered and even more of a match for us. (since some teams will be even bigger now with the new league system, they would seem to have gained even more power than we did since our last encounters)

Give us new, big things to fight so we feel like we are making progress. Things visually large especially, things that you take one look at 'em and you know that is raid caliber.
  21. I suppose I should have gotten my first alpha slot slotted and tried the new content first, sounds like they are gonna be on the right track, and replies here are calming my fears.

It is still a danger though, a challenge for any game designer when you have to keep upping the scale of things, and I'm still wondering what they will give us to fight if they make use of the upper end of the league team size limit, with a big feel and also hopefully use plots other than the well of the furies. I hope they think big in visual feel and not just in numbers was my real fear.

Anyway, off to work towards getting my first Cardiac and see what we have now at least.

And that robot pic above is great!
  22. It seems to me that in a way we may actually end up feeling less powerful as superheroes as we gain incarnate power.

Lets see, all though my superhero life, the hardest challenges needed me to team up with 7 other heroes.

Now, I have gained incarnate power, yeah! Now lets see what I can do.. and the hardest challenges, now that I'm more powerful.. need 23 to 47 other heroes (or whatever the raid, er leagues will hold).

That is fine, unless those challenges end up being just an upgraded version of the older challenges, such as Recluse or someone like him is now tougher too but it now takes you 24 to take him out instead of 8, it might seem off a bit off.

I hope the challenges for raid size teams will be things like 80 ft tall robots rampaging though Steel Canyon, cars and buildings burning and civilians fleeing underfoot.. truly the next level in threats. Not just the same kind of threats that we faced as non incarnate heroes but now happen to match our newly found greater power, but even more so.
  23. For some reason I imagine him uttering an incongruous Beavis and Butthead laugh in that picture, to fit the oddness usually associated.

This picture seems perfect for a caption contest.
  24. The eagle head needs an eagle tail to go with it.. hope hope.
