Mystic Fortune Annoyance
I raised this point in beta. I'm not annoyed with the drive-by buffing so much as this little argument, which makes sense to me:
Mystic Fortune: Power people paid for.
Walk: Free power that is being exploited to stack MF buffs
Solution: Walk is free, fix walk.

OP:
You might have some compatriots in this thread, but know that your opinion, which you're more than welcome to have and to express, is squarely in the minority.
This is not as big a deal as you're making it out to be. Period.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
You know, a lot of tech companies have little workout rooms, I'd imagine they have a few heavy bags that get regular use based on certain usual suspect's feedback..id imagine that babs has a photo of my in game character taped to his. "you want how many martial arts animations??? die!!!">punch punch punch< might be a few of us with that distinction

The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.
Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.
Actually I can think of something more appropriate. remember that by now you've seen them personally in game. Who's to say they didn't grab a rundown of your character, and set up their own private "AE session" loaded down with weakened copies of your character that they can tear through. In fact they can either beat them up regular style, or use the insta-kill dev powers to do so.
|
Or just have them perma held and unkillable. Just an enemy you can constantly beat on with them shouting out words of pain . . . . . . .
Would certainly relieve my stress !

I didn't even know that this change had been made until yesterday. I had no idea there was an exploit associated with walk and that this change was made as a result.
I think it's funny that because people are assumed to have a minority opinion that it automatically means that what they have a problem with is a non-issue. Did all of you like-minded thinkers post in each thread where people complained about the original effects of the sonic resonance powers?
Was it a non-issue because you weren't the ones getting headaches from the effects? I never got headaches from Sonic Resonance. So should I have posted in every thread about it, belittling the opinion of the people who claimed to be affected?
I just want back the option to reject the buff. I don't' much care how it is accomplished. Fix the walk bug or give another option to turn off just Mystic Fortune buffs. Either one works for me.

I can just see it now, stepping through the Vanguard base, and seeing the Rikti dummies replaced with a simulacrum.
You will take my buff and like it.
That is all.

I'll add my vote for any Devs taking note that 20 minute unavoidable buffs leaving crud swirling and making noise around me are poopy. /emote Madface.
At least make it so that it has to be a team-mate, and not some random stranger doing a driveby, and I'll not make madface at you.
It is a really scary madface too. Grrrr!
You mean this is not a big deal to you right?

On the whole, I'm glad to be rid of the pop-up. However, since we already have multiple options to CHOOSE if we get certain pop-ups (not that they all actually WORK), it seems to me that they should have given us another option on that tab relating to the Mystic Fortune buff.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
What I hate about this change is the NOISE.
Mystic Fortune makes a repeating, annoying noise every 3-5 seconds for TWENTY MINUTES and there is nothing I can do about it if I want to keep my sound on.. which I do.
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.
I was really surprised they simply took away the prompt option rather than adding a option to the menu to turn it off. Alas, it was probably easier to simply turn it off. Option would be better.

I barely notice the buff at all, really. Is the one that boosts movement speed even as much as Swift? I haven't seen a significant speed increase from it.
But I'm certainly glad to be rid of the constant pop-up for the inconsequential buffage.

Cant remember who's sig thats in, but it still makes me grin
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Quite frankly, I find it a miracle that the Devs can manage to tweak anything at all in the game anymore. If it's changed, it WILL be complained about. They could go so far as to double the amount of speed gained from toggling on Sprint, or halving the recharge on Rest for no particular reason - with no drawback whatsoever - and folk would raise a stink simply because it made things easier, or because they now move too quickly, or because their frail, old man/woman concept relied on Rest being available at precisely a certain interval so that they could 'fall asleep' a precise number of times per mission.
In this case, though, I wouldn't mind if the prompt were brought back with an option to turn it off (but I'm not certain it could be done without bringing back the exploit, given the nature of how it worked)... I'd simply turn it off, and curse all the fist-shakers in this thread every time I had to go out of my way to click that darn little option.
