You and me both. And its so worth the price tag based on what I saw last night in the Training Room. This one really tops the first two booster packs. Its extremely well done.

However I really am hoping that when Going Rogue launches (or at some point) this ability will not be tied only to this booster pack. It seems a bit...umm..can't think of the proper word but...'crude' I guess. It's like having the power customization coming out and saying, "oh, you have to pay to change the colors/effects of your powers."

I'd be curious if everyone would be so happy about this if only the 63 month vets got this reward

[/ QUOTE ]

If they were to give away the stuff in the boosters fro free, what would be the point in buying the booster. The feature you're discussing is completely cosmetic and not gameplay impacting, so it seems wholly appropriate for a booster, probably more so than self-destruct or mission teleporter.

I know I'd probably never buy a booster again if I thought I could just wait and get some of the features for free. Doesn't seem like the best business practice to abuse your most rabid <no pun intended> customers.

This is not analogous at all to giving it away as a a 63 month vet reward, because anyone that wants it can get it. Especially when it seems the boosters will be on sale forever, it doesn't make any sense to devalue the product that is still sitting on the virtual shelf.

For the costume pieces, emotes/costume change emotes?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's true that switching from male to female/whatever isn't 'gameplay impacting' (you could argue that but to me it's not so it's not worth it). However, what about power customization (let's just say the ability to change the color of your powers). That's not impacting any gamplay so if they released power customization as an "add-on" to Issue 15 so that if you want to change the color of your powers you'd have to pay another $10 for that ability. Sure you don't have to and you'd still get Issue 15 for free but...power customization has been requested for so long by so many people that it just seems like 'a slap in the face' (again not the right words/phrase...but can't find the right words :/).

All of the other booster packs always had costume pieces/emotes/cc emotes and some 'bonus power'. Sure the bonus power impacts gameplay but to be honest...the self-destruct power or the mission tp power is not that big of a deal...it's nice but it's not like "everyone" requested this power over the course of x years.

Don't get me wrong I don't think I'll be buying this pack for that reason as well as I think it's also a "light" booster pack...The costume change emotes are awesome and the ability to change body styles/height/etc is awesome as well but...that's not a "huge" draw to me. That's why I'm hoping that maybe GR (or another issue 'soon') will allow body style changes for free (without paying for the booster pack).

[/ QUOTE ]

Not saying it would be the best idea for them; then again they did allow all the prestige sprints to be gained via vet. reward...so...there is a precedent. I'd like them to take the body style/slider/etc off of the booster pack and make that part free and add in some sort of temp power like the other boosters. Yes I've seen Castle's post saying he couldn't think of anything; but surely people might have given Castle ideas with some of their posts by now.

[/ QUOTE ]

True I wasn't really saying that this type of thing should be given to 63 month vet rewards but...was trying to relate it. It's like some of the vet reward "debates" that have come up before. I believe that some of the vet rewards (costume stuff/wings/trenchcoats/etc) should not be vet rewards but available to all. Sure maybe have some generic stuff but not something that is as "wanted" as Angel(ic?) wings/demon wings, trenchcoats, etc....

Will I quit or throw tantrums that this body slider/changer will be in the booster pack if it goes live as is? No. I just don't like the decision and maybe...just maybe, the devs can/will change their minds and get a cool bonus power up in its place. To be honest, if there was a bonus power I'd probably buy the pack even though I really don't care about costume pieces (not that much at least). I buy things for the powers and/or badges

I'm surprised to see another booster pack so soon. Are they hoping to start double-dipping every new issue?

[/ QUOTE ]

Super Booster I: Cyborg came out with Issue 13
Super Booster II: Magic came out with Issue 14
Super Booster III: Science is in beta with Issue 15...probably going to be released with or just after issue 15.

Where's the double dipping?

My guess is one booster per issue so they can piggy-back the booster graphics updates, which is what they are mostly, in with the issue updates since the download is expected to be large with new issues, instead of having a random large update between issues.

Also wouldn't be surprised if the work for the Mutant and Natural boosters are already planned and possibly done waiting to be released later.

My understanding is that prestige sprints were part of the pre-order version of CoH, not something that they paid extra for, just paid early. Thats why they came in as vet rewards and is different from putting the boosters in as vet rewards. The devs have said that they won't put stuff available for free that people explicitly had to pay extra for (GvE, Valkryie, Wedding, Super Boostes, etc).

In fact, there's precedent for the exact opposite:

The Vet Reward Arachnos Chest Emblem was originally the exact same that players got via purchasing the CoV Collector's Edition. This was pointed out and the Devs replaced the Vet Reward version with a different model, thus assuring the CoV Collector's Edition version was solely obtainable through that.

I hear what your trying to say, and that is that the Super Tailor seems to cross a line, and I feel the same way. I <3 the game , Paragon Studios, NCSoft, and support micro transactions and in game advertising for extra revenue, but this is just to "Big" of thing to have only in a booster pack.

Add it to the weak issue 15, and put a different power in the pack, ya know little fun ones that are fairly useless.

Maybe they could take the Infected serum that Dr. Creed gives you, beef it up to work on all minions in all factions, and give it a half hour recharge?

This isn't true. The 4 prestige sprints included in the Vet Reward were for preorders. The DVD edition included the Prestige Power Slide and the Cape of Four Winds, which are not available via Vet Reward.

A troll (normal male or female) taking an extra dose of superadyne and going Supa Troll (huge). This would be ideal for a macro when you trigger the various awesome-for-two-minutes-and-then-you-crash powers.

Hmm, just the bottom part of this has me sold. Definitely worth the money to me...

But I'm sure that I'm not the only one thinking this...

<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre> I met her in a club
down in old Soho
where you drink champagne
and it tastes just
like cherry cola
C-O-L-A cola

She walked up to me
and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name
and in a dark brown voice
she said Lola
L-O-L-A Lola
la la la la Lola

Well I'm not the world's
most physical guy
but when she squeezed me tight
she nearly broke my spine
oh my Lola
la la la la Lola
Well I'm not dumb
but I can't understand
why she walked like a woman
and talked like a man
oh my Lola
la la la la Lola
la la la la Lola

Well we drank champagne
and danced all night
under electric candle light
she picked me up and
sat me on her knee
and said "Dear boy
won't you come home with me?"

Well I'm not the world's
most passionate guy
but when I looked in her eyes
I almost fell for my
Lola la la la la Lola
la la la la Lola
Lola la la la la Lola
la la la la Lola

I pushed her away
I walked to the door
Well I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
then I looked at her
and she at me

Well that's the way
that I want it to stay
and I always want it
to be that wayfor my Lola
la la la la Lola

Girls will be boys
and boys will be girls
it's a mixed up
muddled up
shook up world
except for Lola
la la la la Lola

Well I left home just
a week before
and I'd never ever kissed
a woman before
but Lola smiled and
took me by the hand
and said "Dear boy
I'm gonna make you a man"

Well I'm not the world's
most masculine man
but I know what I am
and I'm glad I'm a man
and so is Lola
la la la la lola
la la la la Lola
Lola la la la la Lola

I'm very peeved that the tailor changes that some of us wanted since day 1 (changing body type and height) end up in a paid booster.

What's next? A jet pack costume item for the Natural Booster? Fox tails or animated tails in the Mutant Booster?

grumble grumble grumble

And yes I read Castle's post about it.

Also very upset about this. If this was gonna be in a paid thing it should of been in goin rogue. Not in a "fluff" booster. Really dissapointed about this. I was just coming back from a break but I think I'm going to take another break....

A gameplay bonus I can see is if you end up in tight quarters, like the Blue Cave of Infinite Collisions and Hangup, you can switch your huge character to a tiny character to make it easier to maneuver around.

Hrm... y'know, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the size-changing being a booster-exclusive. Up 'til now, I've enjoyed and bought the booster packs without batting an eye, but the super-tailor just doesn't seem like a comfortable fit. Not sure what it is- probably that it's a long-requested QoL feature, rather than just some sweet costume pieces and a handy, but ultimately irrelevant, long-recharge power.
