I'd love to see build switching as a power with one of the costume packs.

I'd just like to point out that while using an exploit MAY result in some dev action, it likely won't. There was a period of a few weeks when it seemed like Mito farms were all that anyone was doing, and there's no way that all the participants were hit with the ban hammer. I MEOW'ed and Mito'd and suffered 0 consequences. Bans get threatened by posters on these forums for everything, but it seems that the devs are loathe to use teh ban hammer.

This shouldn't be too much of a problem. This has been an MMO fact of life since at least Ruins of Kunark for EQ. If you don't buy the expansion, you don't get to play the new content. Seems simple enough.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a lo of people running the new content, because, you know, new content. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have trouble imagining liking this game enough to pay $15 a month, but not enough to pay a few dollars more for an expansion. Time will tell.

Since your seem to be concern trolling about the bad blood this will stir up, what would you propose? Should there never be an expansion to the game? Should all expansions be free?

LOL, looks like I got my edit in a minute too late. Anyway, I love this, no negativity at all. Broadcast spam doesn't really bother me anyhow. Just making a prediction about how the lowest common denominator adapts to this change.

My prediction, this will not stop broadcast spam, just change it. It will simply become more focused. Now it will be "LF Kin for +4 set for 8 mish, pst."

Defenders will be bombarded with tells of "u heal?" or "u a kin?"

TA and cold defenders will receive blind invites and then be kicked as soon as the leader gets a look at their powers.

Hopefully, it will move all the traffic out of AP, as players all gravitate to the one mission that has been determined to be absolutely optimal to crank all the way up and solo or duo. Will we see the demon farm return to prominence? Will it be something new ? Stay tuned!

Edit: Not saying that this isn't a good addition to the game. Just don't think it's going to be the panacea a lot of players seem to. personally, I never had teh patience or heart to grab fillers, so this will get me off of the Cim walls.

Are they some type of rare mito? because I'm pretty sure mitos and maniac slammers are the only two villain types in the game. You hardly ever see the slammers, though, because they're bugged and can cause your HP meter to move backwards. I hope todays downtime fixed that.

This reminds me of the kheldian (no vet badges, natch) who was telling me that enhancements weren't really necessary because of auto-sk (?!?!?!?!?). When I started explaining that this wasn't the case, he claimed that he was clearly right, because he had an epic AT and I didn't. Because if you had access to khelds, you'd never play anything else, right?

Seriously though, having multiple 50's without ever leaving atlas strikes me as a big problem. If nothing else it is a monumental failure of game design.

If I'm able to "beat" the game repeatedly, by doing the same mission over and over again no less, in my first month subscribing to the game, how likely am I to pay for a second month? I fear that new players won't stick around because the game looks so thin.

I've never seen an MMO where a brand new player could zone in, join a team, and come out of their first mission at lvl 20. This isn't really analogous to PI, because a new player can easily do this without even trying to. In fact, given the state of Atlas these days, this is probably more likely than any other outcome.

Here's hoping that Going Rogue will introduce several rewards that can't be obtained through AE to try to coax people out.

Also, I'm far from swayed by the argument that this feature is so sought after that it shouldn't be in a booster. If anything, frequently requested features with absolutely no gameplay impact strike me as ideal booster contents. Presumably, you'll sell a lot of them because the feature is so popular, but you won't disadvantage the players that opt not to.

Well, for farming the two most important powers are Bonfire and Repel. You want to take both of those as early as possible, and 6 slot them. Toggle on Repel the moment you enter your farm map and never turn it off. When you approach each spawn, drop Bonfire wait a second or two, then throw out your Fire Cages. After that, just let your imps clean up the leftovers...

You're only telling half the story. None of this will matter if you don't have the presence pool to grab agro and the medicine pool to keep you alive after you do. You'll also need the powers from these pools to access the set bonuses you'll need for an effective farming build.

Just yesterday, I was running a task force, the new one that Khan gives, and I didn't get a single ticket drop. Killed tons of mobs and no one on the team got one. We did, however, keep getting notifications that we were getting something called "Salvage". WTF, I don't want that garbage, I want the tickets that I'm entitled to!
Dev's, plz fix this or I'll cancel my sub.

If they were to give away the stuff in the boosters fro free, what would be the point in buying the booster. The feature you're discussing is completely cosmetic and not gameplay impacting, so it seems wholly appropriate for a booster, probably more so than self-destruct or mission teleporter.

I know I'd probably never buy a booster again if I thought I could just wait and get some of the features for free. Doesn't seem like the best business practice to abuse your most rabid <no pun intended> customers.

This is not analogous at all to giving it away as a a 63 month vet reward, because anyone that wants it can get it. Especially when it seems the boosters will be on sale forever, it doesn't make any sense to devalue the product that is still sitting on the virtual shelf.
