how will GR be playable?
On a serious note, I don't think it will be too terrible. I mean, today, you have some teams composed of high-level and low-level players. If a few decide to go do RWZ or Ouroboros missions or something, either they decide not to and do something that everyone can, or the lower-level people leave and find something else to do while the higher-level people have at it. I don't think anyone feels alienated about it, or at least, it's not so bad that people are leaving the game over it.
I think that there will be a lot of non-GR players (and GR players doing non-GR stuff) that will keep everything very well balanced.
Oh, and 8-8-0. Those are tomorrow's Cash 3 numbers. You heard it here first.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
This shouldn't be too much of a problem. This has been an MMO fact of life since at least Ruins of Kunark for EQ. If you don't buy the expansion, you don't get to play the new content. Seems simple enough.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a lo of people running the new content, because, you know, new content. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have trouble imagining liking this game enough to pay $15 a month, but not enough to pay a few dollars more for an expansion. Time will tell.
Since your seem to be concern trolling about the bad blood this will stir up, what would you propose? Should there never be an expansion to the game? Should all expansions be free?
The Praetorian zones will be limited access just like CoV was when first introduced. If you don't have the expansion, the characters on that account, can't enter the zones.
i guess what i should have asked was will this go the cov did? started as a new expansion then after awhile it was just what you got like everyone who buys gets both coh/cov. i will wait untill they intergrate it into the game.

I might buy Going Rogue at some point based on that fact alone.
At this point, I only have one character that I would want to take from the villain side to the hero side. There are a couple of heroes that maybe should take the path to fall to become a villain, but I'm not overly excited about CoH:GR.

I do think that that team search system needs a huge overhaul already. Once GR hits, I think that it will definitely need more settings. The looking for settings will have to include good, evil, and neutral settings as the kind of missions you run effect our alignment.
I'm sure that there are going to be some teams that don't care what kind of missions they are running as long as they get the right drops.

I agree with you that it will cut-up/thin out the player base.
But it's going to happen, and we will just have to wait and see what happens. I just hope it doesn't become a tunnel for goods passing back and for between the heroic and villainous sides of the game.

(And if I'm wrong about the above...I'll still probably buy it. Twice.)
Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level
Icelock - Ice/Storm Controller
Command Bot 1 - Bot/Traps MM
As far as i could understand like City Of Villains, all content is in a separated world. The characters themselves are the ones that are joining Paragon/Isles. That way there is no worry about teams having to split up mid way for Going Rogue content to be played. (as you'd need to zone anyway) And as mentioned most teams just say in team and people are happy. i mean its not the other players fault if you didn't fork out some cash for the expansion.
my question is. how will GR work with a team full of mixed members? by that i mean you have 4 ats(any)who have paid for GR and 4 ats(any) who havent, and the half the group decides they want to GR. what happens to the team at that point? i see alot of bad blood here. but i'm not pyschic. will teams only be looking for both way players and how is this suppose to help? some people have been put off so much by lack of recent decent gameplay. it seems you are intentionally alienating some people from the game!
