Quote:As I understand it, someone at Paragon will select (at random) an item each week that will be that Friday's freebie item, so all players get the same item available for free....
There. Now that that is out of the way I do have a mind boggling question: Am I able to win something I already have? Assuming a costume piece would be awarded (I gather it would be something like this vs winning a whole costume pack). Will my freebie be wasted? Or will the system recognize this and move on to something else? I understand this is a test phase, but I am a tad curious about this early on. Also is this accountwide one time or character specific (not including account wide items)
At least that's how I interpreted Zwillingers response to "getting something pulled from a hat":
"Ideally, we want to do that, but alas tis not the case with the pilot program as it would require engineering time. " -
A hero that turns villain can then do one of the patron arcs to unlock Patron Power Pools. If he/she/it then goes back to Hero, he can still use PPPs.
Unsure how it works for villains, if they need to switch side or not, but APPs are available for them -
Had the same problem myself yesterday. Sat in the mission for about an hour after petitioning, the Poison Gas Arrow stayed on the ground the whole time. Eventually I had to log for the night, and naturally I got an email about 10 minutes later from a GM saying that I was not online to be helped.
My guess is that the poison gas arrow pseudo-pet counts as a guardian for the hostage as it's spawned by one of her guards and as it doesn't despawn for some reason, she's locked in protected mode.
I'll have to give it another go tonight, hope the GMs have time to respond a little bit quicker. -
Why not frankenslot four ACC/DAM, the PetRes and have a free slot? Maybe a bit more expensive, but not horribly so.

Quote:Actually, players with Cold Domination, Sonic Resonance or Thermal Radiation (maybe others as well) can also have 5 powers with enhanceable resistance, if they get Tough and an Epic +RES shield. This is important:
All characters that can slot this much status resistance, will have at least five powers that enhance resistance - which in turn means that they're stalkers, scrappers, tanks or brutes... each having toggles or clickies in their secondaries that grant protection against the more annoying status effects. All things told, this means the IOs are mostly useless.
I agree with your overall assessment, these bonuses are not worth aiming for. -

Quote:Seems like that site has the numbers unadjusted for inflation, and is missing movies where the actor wasn't credited (when I compare with IMDb). Not sure that's in SLJs favour though, Frank seems to have a lot of uncredited movies to his name.Well the article says $7.5B, which makes Frank Welker more than a billion short, according to your link. o.O
Until I know how Guinness got the number 7.4 billion, I'll remain skeptical. -
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Abbreviations is a list of at least some terms.

And he's still more than a billion short of the record holder, Frank Welker

1. True, it's not that much of a hassle. But it's more or less standard procedure across all kinds of logins that the cursor moves to the password field if the user name is remembered.
2. It wouldn't be much worse, two Enter presses would resubmit the Username/password as the current password would only be selected, not removed, when the error message is closed. -
It's worth noting that the Halloween tip can drop from the Trick mobs as well, not just the doors. Got it twice from mobs instead of doors so far.

I would very much like to see some updates to the login screen, user experience-wise. I had a small hope that this would've been done with the partial redesign for Freedom, but no such luck.
1. If 'Remember Account Name' is selected, move the cursor to Password field on startup.
2. If wrong password is entered, you get a popup stating that you have entered the wrong account name or password. Pressing Enter here seems to submit the same incorrect user/pw combination again, since the error popup blinks. It would be preferrable if Enter would close this popup and, if 'Remember Account Name' is checked, pre-select the currently entered password and place the cursor at the end of the line. -

Quote:My main's an Ice/Storm troller and while soloing stuff takes a while at lower levels, it is very safe. Super Speed+Steamy Mist to get through any unwanted fights, Arctic Air to keep most minions busy and then Chilblain+Block of Ice on lieuts/bosses. Freezing Rain as much as possible. You solo the SSAs?
What level is your toon, how is s/he slotted out (any IOs?), and what Incarnate abilities do you make use of (if any)?
My main toons right now are a level 36 ice troller and a level 30 SJ brute. My brute might be able to solo it, but an ice/storm troller is definitely a team-oriented toon; soloing anything with that character is painful in the extreme.
This changes when you get your top powers, you can get decent damage from Tornado and Lightning Storm, use Frostbite to prevent knockback and Hurricane to nudge enemies closer together as both Tornado and Lightning Storm deal AoE damage. Jack does OK damage when he can be coaxed into using both ranged and melee damage, but that is rare. -
Just to make it clear, you cannot be level 51+, you can only become 50+

Quote:I first watched Mars Attacks! hoping, maybe even expecting, to see an entertaining movie with the understanding that it wasn't going to be an entirely serious movie. It failed to deliver entertainment and/or laughs (well, the marsians were worth a few laughs), so it definately places high on my list of worst movie with best cast-list.Mars Attacks! did have a star-studded cast. But it also wasn't a "bad" movie at least as far as this thread is concerned. Mars Attacks! was never trying to be a critically serious sci-fi movie. In fact as a "sci-fi comedy" I thought it was actually one of the best of that particular sub-category.

Quote:Every time I see Fellowship of the Ring, when Frodo wakes up in Rivendell I mentally change Elrond's line to "Welcome to Rivendell, Mr Anderson" instead of "Welcome to Rivendell, Frodo Baggins"Now for a big question: Hugo Weaving aka Agent Smith plays the Red Skull.....did the Skull have a henchman or agent named Anderson? Or did they blow a good opportunity for a Matrix easter egg? I can just imagine Weaving/Skull saying "Herr Anderson" or "Mister Anderson"....

Quote:You mean like this?I'm sure Sinestro was using all his will to supress the [censored]-eating grin when he saw Hal stripped of his ring by the Guardians. He'll probably use his ring to create an intergalatic mariachi band to privately celebrate the event.

I remember hearing a while back that someone figured out that, given todays living conditions, even if people did not die of old age the average age at death would be around 300 years. People would still die from accidents, diseases, wars, crime etc.
Granted, society would likely change if old age disappears so some of these factors may not be as relevant as they are today. -
Quote:Not a crash into a wall, but this is Kenny Bräck in a 214 g's crash, highest g-forces ever measured in a crash (wikipedia says 240 g, video says 214 g). Took him 18 months to recover.Depending on how things are setup, the human body can take a fair bit of punishment when it comes to decceleration. At the extreme end, there was a case where a formula one driver sustained a 200g smack into a wall and survived.

There are also Abandoned Labs in Port Oakes and St Martial which works virtually the same as the University
