Was it just me, or was Coulson way more of a tool in Thor than he was in the Iron Man films?

Enough though they make this guy out to be a tool sometimes (i/e Iron man 1) Its nice to know he is more then just a desk clerk.

Coulson is a company man, that occasionally means he has to do things that are a bit jerk-like, at least from the perspective of the main characters of the film.

Well, and when you're playing against Tony Stark, it's probably easier to come off as less of a jerk.

One of the comments mentions "these Marvel shorts", plural. Are there more out there?

There was also "The Consultant," which I don't think is available in full online...

Joss Whedon would never kill of a fan favorite supporting character. It's not his style.

The man's cruel. I could see him doing it, just for dramatic effect.

Is this where the picture of some animation character looking skeptical with the caption NOT SURE IF SERIOUS goes? I'm not fully conversant with what the young people are doing on the internets these days.

That's funny. I always envisioned him more as a shrimp on a skewer.

Director Joss Whedon is known for "killing off beloved characters", but Gregg has stated that Whedon confirmed Coulson will survive the events of the film.
Let´s hope Whedon keeps his word. I don´t want another "I´m a leaf on the wind" scene... and could´ve lived happily without the first one.

I'm still half-expecting Coulson to turn out to be a LMD... possibly an agent of the Kree or Skrull.

OMG, Coulson might secretly be Mar-Vell in disguise!!!
