Demon/Thermal (sorry another thread)
As I posted in another thread further down. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=276287
I did test on the Practice Dummy in RWZ. My toon was a Demon Pain. But I did not use any of my Pain buff powers. All I did was pretty much summon the pets and upgrade them and let them loose on the target dummy. The pets usually have Blood Mandate set slotted in them. I did have endurance drain but the pets kept fighting. The Tier 2 pets did not have the endurance issue that the T3 Prince did. But regardless both kept on fighting for 8 minutes. I cannot think of any steady nonstop fight your going to have for 8 minutes. Even as chaotic and hectic the Prisoner escape phase might be in BAF even then you have some slight lull moments and regardless that is not an 8 minute fight.
So trust me the last thing I want to do is come here and give the indication I am looking have a debate or fight or heated discussion of any sort. But someone needs to really show me what they are talking about. I think even a picture along with a build and a bit of what was going on to get the drain.
Do incarnates matter ? Maybe because I have cardiac ? Maybe it some undocumented advantage. Maybe they did some updates recently but just didn't mention it. I have no clue honestly. But I would just slot them normally unless someone can show otherwise about this drain.
1. Why Soft Cap is Important : http://dechskaison.blogspot.com/2011...important.html
2. Limits: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Limits
3. Attack Mechanics: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics
4. Rule of Five: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Rule_o...e_Law_of_Fives
Its all your cardiac incarnate. Huge end reduction for your pets. I love it myself, makes my demons skinless energizer bunnies with horns that spit fire.rawr!
I guess my question would be if anyone had a demon/thermal build they could post so I could look and get an idea what to shoot for and slot for. I've read that demon/thermal is a solid build but i seem to be having a hard time keeping them alive in mishs at 42 so I assume, as is usually the case, its my fault 8D.

In terms of tactics my normal fight strategy was as follows:
1. Order the DP to move into the middle of the group and then order him to attack the boss or a particularly troublesome minion/Lt (ordering him to move first stops them from scattering and the attack order controls who he holds).
2. Order the Ember Demon and Hellfire Gargoyle to attack a Lt near the group center
3. Order the Demonlings to attack a minion (preferably one relatively central to maximize their cones)
4. Use Char either on the boss (to stack with the DP's hold) or on a second Lt/Minion
5. Start lobbing Fireballs.
6. ???
7. Profit.
Do incarnates matter ? Maybe because I have cardiac ? Maybe it some undocumented advantage.

I notice in your referenced post that you mention the Demon Prince hovering around 10%. I suspect (based on my experience) that if you monitored his powers carefully you'll notice that he doesn't use certain powers (primarily his AoE sleep). Based on my somewhat unscientific testing if the DP has a single endurance reduction slotted (which is what a Cardiac is roughly equivalent to) then he has enough endurance to run his basic attack chain (including his hold) but will still run low on prolonged fights and have to stop using his AoE sleep. Adding a second endurance reduction enhancement (or adding 1 if you are relying on Cardiac) will enable him to use his sleep power more often in long fights. On a team this doesn't make much difference but solo it's actually a pretty useful power to take some enemies out of the fight while your demons wait for their AoEs to recharge.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
TY all for the responses and information. Also thank you for posting a build.
You could at least soft cap Smashing/Lethal damage >.>
Do you have any suggestions how?

This is what I am still angling to. I haven't broke down and bought the golgi's for Summon Demons, I have a generic heal and generic end reduction IO in there.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
Thanks a bunch. Yeah, the Golgi are horrifically expensive.
Now, I did have a couple of questions:
1) Why slot the Demonlings the way you did? I notice you only have the two Sovereign's Rites in there
2) I assumes the Call to Arms in Hell on Earth are for set bonuses, yes?
3) Does the Pacing of the Turtle in the Demon Prince seem to make a difference in his slows compared to pre-slotting Pacing?

2)Yes, I was going especially for the recharge set bonus so that the big debuffs have a shorter recharge.
3) I am not sure what you mean by pre-slotting Pacing. I selected PotT mainly because the IOs enhance acc, dmg, slow, and end reduction (the biggest feature I was driving for), with the foursome to get the accuracy set bonus for mastermind abilities like crack the whip, heat exhaustion, and melt armor.

1)Right, I could have slotted them for more IO set bonus. This slotting shows how I slotted them inexpensively with IOs to get them to max Acc/Dam 90% and then adding the IO bonus as the sixth slot.

As indicated I searched and found a lot of threads that contained info on the demon/thermal combination and I did read them. There were some things they mentioned, like slotting the prince and gargoyles for end reduction and to slot for the slow on the demon prince.
My question is how much of these do you need to slot for. I tried to search for builds, and I know my searchfu is pathetic at best, but all the builds I found the link was dead on or didn't contain a code block my mids would open. I've opened other builds from other AT forums so not sure what the issue is.
Any help would be really appreciated.
