Oh wonderful.. as if I haven't seen ENOUGH Hulk clones... now I get to see Banner clones too... turning into a Hulk clone..

I wonder if each costume slot will get its own generic code?

[/ QUOTE ]

Transformations are nothing inherently unique to the Hulk. These kinds of things were a trope of fiction going back to early mythology. While some players will undoubtedly do what you describe, your post seems to suggest that the addition should be excluded simply because of that fact. Sorry, I've never been a big fan of the rotten apple analogy. I'm more excited about paying for this booster pack than I am about getting I15 for free.

Am I misreading you or was your opening paragraph just an excuse to get to your cute little one-liner?

I was recently listening to Scott Adam's "Way of the Weasel" on audio book while driving. In it he made a reference to people who are "satire deficient." At the time I wasn't entirely sure what he meant.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Oh! It was satire! Well, thanks for clearing that up for me as well. Because if you hadn't, you know, told me...well...

Anyway, thanks!

Bad, you're not down for this one? I can agree that the costumes are pretty narrow conceptually but the costume change emotes and the Super Tailor feature would be worth the booster pack price even if there wasn't a single costume to be had. It remains to be seen what will make it live but this is probably my favorite booster yet.

I'm very peeved that the tailor changes that some of us wanted since day 1 (changing body type and height) end up in a paid booster.

What's next? A jet pack costume item for the Natural Booster? Fox tails or animated tails in the Mutant Booster?

grumble grumble grumble

And yes I read Castle's post about it.

I'm surprised to see another booster pack so soon. Are they hoping to start double-dipping every new issue?

Neither the costume change emotes or the sex-change thingy are interesting enough to get me to shell out; in fact I can safely say that none of my characters are gender-curious A few pairs of the goggles are pretty cool, but not ten dollars worth of cool.

Not to mention, how in blazes can there NOT be a bubble helmet in there!?? no bubble helmet in the Science pack, truly, wth? or a HazMat suit helmet, or perhaps an entire Hazmat suit?! But I digress.

That is just me tho; those of you who want this, enjoy.

[/ QUOTE ]y'know, the boosters are mostly just costumes (meaning: devs who don't work on art don't have to spend ANY man-hours on it, plus the SINGLE power to be made), and they said from the start they're gonna make a booster for each origin.

You know, I can appreciate this sentiment. I don't really mind paying for the privilege but the argument that transformations aren't really thematically linked to science does make a lot of sense.

If jetpacks show up in the Natural booster, I am still so there...

My two bits: the costume bits don't do anything for me, but the emotes, costume change emotes, and Super Tailor are awesome. I'll have my 10 bucks ready.

EDIT: the /e experiment emote has a surprise feature. It seems to have a random chance of either having a happy outcome or a frustrating one. Unexpectedly entertaining!

You know, I've seen this reaction from a couple people and while I can also safely say that none of my characters are gender curious either, there are a few uses that hit me right off the bat that don't involve gender-bending:

1) You could effective play a chain of legacy characters with a single slot regardless of sex and/or size.

2) A Deadman homage that has to possess the bodies of ordinary people to interact with the world can now mix it up a little. I wanted to do something like this a year ago but the turn-off for me was that the civilian costumes would have had to be all male and roughly the same height. No longer a problem.

3) If you are unhappy with your choice of sex for a character, you can effectively re-roll without losing a level. Granted, I don't think I've ever done this one myself but I've known a few people who have...so I think it's a great use of the feature.

Anyway, to each his own. I just wanted to say a bit about the preconception that some people seem to have that the gender changing thing has to be sexualized. While I'm sure that some ERPer will use it in a way that will make me want to wash my eyeballs, I think there is some good clean fun to be had as well.

ok this one really doesnt thrill me, but its not bad. i'll probably get it for the body switching and to support the home team, but i wont bu up with baiter breath and my credit card like i was with magic. but the costumes might pop up on about 2 characters tops, maybe the breathers can work into a powersuit, maybe. hey, now we cant say all the cool stuff is going into the pay sets, can we :P I do have very high hopes for mutant, lets FINALLY get some monster hero support, its only been 6 issues.

Finally!

helmets (modern helmet) + Death mask + Death guard + red eye glow = Fifth Column look!

Been waiting ages for an atleast decent resemblence...the options we have now just aren't close enough.

Now that I've finally gotten used to using two character slots for the ones who need to be two different heights/genders/builds. Oh well. Convenience FTW!

Or a normal-sized character shrinking to minimum size to sort of simulate going to insect size ala the Wasp, Ant Man, or the Atom.

Yar, I'm inclined to agree. The other boosters up until now have included powers that were nice little bonuses, not things that the community has been asking for for ages. While it's nice they stuck to stuff that doesn't have a major impact on combat effectiveness, this particular item should've been included as part of a free issue, IMO.

Oh well, I'll still buy it, like I've bought every other add-on, because the thought of not having everything this game has to offer makes my brain itch. xD

Personally I love /em calculate - it's a very nifty effect, as is the serum costume change. These are so going into the Tavarisch/Positron video...

And my husband is thrilled to death, because he has been asking for neck bolts since he first got into the game back in Dec 2006.

Of course... if you REALLY want to have fun with rampant speculation, it could be they're waiting on bubble helmets for...

I played with the new costume stuff for about 2-5 mins last night/this morning (at midnight ) and I do agree the cc emotes are great and the ability to switch from 4 ft. male to 8 ft. male or whatever you want is great....

However I really am hoping that when Going Rogue launches (or at some point) this ability will not be tied only to this booster pack. It seems a bit...umm..can't think of the proper word but...'crude' I guess. It's like having the power customization coming out and saying, "oh, you have to pay to change the colors/effects of your powers."

I'd be curious if everyone would be so happy about this if only the 63 month vets got this reward

.... My people don't care about suddenly becoming huge or tiny, either.

Like I say, I know others are thrilled by this and I think they should enjoy it to the fullest; it just does not really interest me. Takes all kinds and all that... but this time I get to save $10.

I have been wanting to do a real Werewolf looking thing for a while now. Female changing into a big werewolf. The wolf being of indeterminate sex. I mean really, who cares wheather that wolf ripping into your chest with its big claws is a boy wolf or a girl wolf? It's still rippping into your chest!
