Super Group additions

If I may play Devil's Advocate here on a request I've seen a few times here...
What do more ranks buy you? Can you really think of ten functionally different levels of membership, or is this just a "pecking order" thing?
I'll add my voice to logo and color changeability as well.

I have to say this is a valid point, but the only other rank I really think needs to be there is Owner or Founder, for the person who started the group, and this person should be able to kick everyone, and if they need to transfer Ownership, and after the owners account has been inactive for 90 days, Ownership passes to the next Oldest ( been in group the longest) player
1) Let heroes keep their own chest emblem, but put the supergroup emblem on their upper arms.
2) Give supergroup leaders the ability to send emails in game to all members of the supergroup with one click.
3) Open trials and missions for supergroups (i.e. the original plan for the Faultline trial).
4) Upon creation, allow the supergroup to select an opposing organization. Give members a bonus against the organization while in supergroup mode and also (for ballance) random ambushes against members by that organization.
5) A danger room-like idea. Here's what I was thinking: The character picks a level, is allowed to build their character up to that level (similiar to a respec), is allowed to pick enhancements (training, DO, and SO) and put them into their build, and then enter the room. They set what they want to fight (say 1 boss, 3 lieutenants, and 5 minions). The villians are random and look similiar to phantoms but have randum villian powers. They fight, but gain no exp, or inf. This gives the hero a chance to try out and plan what he wants for his build!
Everyone else has pretty much covered my thought on the sg additions, but i'll add a few comments.
I suggest with an sg bank to have certain ranks in the sg to access the banks influence but allow all members to deposit into the bank acount. A vault for enhs. would also be nice for lower lvl members to have access to.
The other big thing for me was sg missions trials tf's etc. which other ppl have covered. However, I personaly would like to see some coh staff sponsored and run events. A scheduled event hosted by coh staff where sg's show up to help thwart some menace. SG's that have higher attendance to said event and SG teams that successfully complete said "trial" or mission or killing some monster or AV receive bonus influence and items for SG HQ or special enhs or even dare i say special costume options or items. I played anarchy online before coming to coh back in may and on ao, though i realize that game has been around for over 3 years now, have ARKs that are members of the staff that come to help you and host events but have physical manifestations. They host org events every once in awhile where org teams that complete the trial receive items and influence that are more rare. then a msg is posted on the website or boards recapping said event and showing sg's that participated.
I love coh and didnt mean to boast ao just would like to see similar things in coh in the future, and i have always loved the idea of support staff having physical characters you interact with in game. Sorry for getting off on another tangent there heh.

What tweaks would you like to see for Super Groups?
What new features?
[/ QUOTE ]
As an SG leader, I'd like the ability to lead a group larger than 8 people in an instanced mission that is level independent. I'd like to be able to lead up to every member of the SG into a fun mission where the "monster-code" makes everything con the same to all of us and we can have fun arresting things and all get XP.
If we could do this, SG leaders could play a larger role in helping you keep people in the game. Help us help you.

Allow us to promote / demote other members regardless of their online status (can't assign boss status to an offline character).

<ul type="square">[*]Team-only effects (Recall Friend, Leadership pool powers, etc.) should affect SG members even if not on the team. This will help Raid-style missions immensely (like Hamidon, or raids on other SGs) when team-size is a limiting factor[/list]

Small hijack, but since there is now an accept/decline pop up for these powers if the player chooses, the limitation of it only applying to a teammate should be revisited and hopefully gotten rid of.
This takes care of SuperGroups, as well as promotes the random "help your fellow hero" mentality.
I've already forgotten about most of you
**Supergroup Tweaks**
Expand Super Group Costumes
We currently have the ability to modify the color scheme of one costume slot to be inline with the color choices of the SG founder. It would be really cool to have a standard costume option for the entire Super Group when you in that mode. Think of the traditional X-men yellow and blue costume! This could be a check-box option in the Super Group settings menu, "Wear Super Group Default Costume". This implementation leaves all of the previous color selection options from before intact. Costume options could also be extended to allow color selections per individual costume slot and not just one for every costume. (Note: special items like capes and auras not available for all SG members below 20 and 30 respectively!)
Expand the Ranking System
I do wish that there were just one or two more ranks added to the Super Group Hierarchy. Three ranks feels too confining for a group that can concievably reach a total of 75 members! Five rankings would be a minor but definitive change for the Super Group community...'nuff said!
Real-Time Demote System
A traditional approach to a lingering problem: inactive Super Group members who won't go away! Group leaders can't be allowed to simply kick anyone they choose. I propose a more plausible solution: for every 14-30 real-time days that pass, an SG member is demoted 1 rank. Very active members of an SG are rewarded, while those much less active players can be phased out over time. I call this a "You get out what you put into it" system of SG member management!
**Supergroup Features**
Super Group Leader Privileges
In essence, a Super Group leader of the highest rank can be given the right to modify traits of the group: costume changes, color scheme changes, etc. I propose this even though a problem with this is the in-fighting that can happen among SG leaders.
Super Group Voting System
This is just about the polar opposite of the system proposed above, or perhaps its counterpart? Through a yet-to-be-specified voting system interface give SG members the ability to override leaders via a voting system integrated into the SG interface. Options that can be voted upon include: costume changes, leadership changes, and in the future...base options, and more! Hurdles to implementation of this system would be: what to do about players that are currently offline? What percentage of an SG roster need to be counted for a vote to succeed or decline? How often should a member be allowed to call a vote?
Ubiquitous Super Group Mission Content Request
File everything else under here!
These above additions would be a great addition to an already great game, thanks for reading!
With as many pages as there are here, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but . . .
I'd REALLY like the capability to NOT have an emblem when
in super-group mode. As it is, I'm always searching for the
least visible emblem I can get when creating an SG.
I don't feel that emblems should be required, after all, we do have our custom color-set (and if we could get an actual shared super-group costume set, that'd be even better).
6000+ levels gained and 8 level 50's
Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.
* The ability to demote off-line members.
* The ability to invite off-line characters (via e-mail?) -- for instance, so the SG leader can add his own alts to the SG.
* Use of the SG name as an e-mail or /tell name. So you could "/tell Desired Supergroup, Hey guys this is Billy's new character. Is anyone out there who can invite me?"
* A roster of SG "applicants" which might include those who have not been online in a long time and possibly those who request membership in a full SG. In essence, this is a list of characters who cannot currently participate in Supergroup events, but who are available to be swapped into the SG easily and maybe even receive Supergroup tells and e-mails. In other words, this acts as an expanded roster for the SG but maintains the hard limit of 75 active members.
* It's been said before, but I'll cast my vote for the ability to change SG colors/symbol after creation, and to have the SG costume be an extra slot. If this requires some sort of mission like respec that would be an acceptable way to limit frequent changes.
* Ability to assign SG colors differently for each costume. For example, in my hooded costume I want to change the hood color, but in my "street clothes" I don't want my hair color to change.
* The option to use personal chest detail symbol vs. SG symbol when in SG colors. For example, some costumes just look bad with a chest emblem, and would prefer to have none in both regular and SG modes.
* A "public information" field in the SG info that others can view from any member's Info tabs. This allows SGs to advertise their policies and others to decide which SG to request membership in while avoiding the need for random solicitations and lengthy discussions of the SG policies and plans.
* SG-based missions. Maybe this will make sense after CoV and bases, but some task that SG members of varying levels can tackle that somehow benefits the SG (even if just in a cosmetic way, like giving a badge or a 3rd color option).
* SG repository for Enhancements and/or Influence. It would be nice to store enhancement drops that you personally can't use but that others in your SG need. If that's too much database info to be feasible, then an Influence bank should be good enough.
Command line SGWhoall [sg name string]
/sgwhoall "The Watchguard"
returns a list of everyone online in The Watchguard SG.
Can you do it?
(oh yeah, and fix the sorting for online as it is currently an alpha sort)

Definately not. I get enough blind invites as it is, mostly from PLer beggars. No one needs to get constant unwanted TP spams. Also, unless they fixed the bug, if 2 people try to TP you at once it overrides the prompt and you still get TPed, so this could be too easily abused. Making it SG only, or adding the raid set-up for multi-group raids like EQ has, would work though.
I would very much like to see some kind of Supergroup Prestige system, where the members of your SG can do things to bring glory to it, and this gains SG prestiege, which in turn allows you to take out loans or gives your SG the ability to build their base in a special area, or it gives the SG new technology, like its own teleporter, so when members want to get together and converse, they can all teleport to the base. Or even a training room for the SG where scenarios can be brought up by members to hone their pwoers, or train lower level members in the use of their powers, or even do PvP where there is no death debt penalty if they want,.
I also like the idea about having a specific enemy group for the SG. But maybe make it so it can't be changed more than once every-other month, and make it so the SG members get missions from their SG HQ that are aimed at that specific villian group, that can't be gotten through contacts, and will always be at the level of the person initating the mission. So a level 50 could fight Equal level Council, and a level 20 could do the same mission, but geared at his or her level. These missions could include orginal and new monsters, AVs and bosses, and follow a very long storyline, and if missions are failed on it, it makes the Supergroups prestiege go down.
theres my two(point nine million) cents on the subject
Make it possible that members of a SG can read the INFO of other members of the SG from the SG menu (even if the players on not in line of site). It would help with players getting to know something about the SG team members, beyond their name and level.
WoW states this is great
I would like to see a Team Speak feature added to super groups, I know you guys said some where you would not add any team speak features to CoH, because you could not review/control the content and their might be griefing though the system, but I think in a super group mode only this should be less likely to happen and it would sure make SG's battles much more coordinated
Though stated before more ranks and customizable ranks, the ability of the founder to kick anyone on or off-line, the ability of founder to step down, and a special super group costume slot designed by the founder after the super groups does a special TF.
And the number one feature is a base, I want it now before CoV is out and I'm willing to pay $49.99 right now just for that feature alone. My Visa card is ready... I want a base for my SG
Quality of life:
an XML feed listing for each players:
_date SG was joined
_date of last logon
_rank
_hero description
_origin
_archetype
_level
_powers (not only sets but selected powers)
_badges obtained
_total XP
_current XP gained
Not really concerning in-game but a feature that will be useful to ALL fansites.
For in-game features:
_fix the current bugs that prevent from listing by columns(by last login doesnt function for me currently)
_allow multiple players selection for leaders to invite/send message to more than one members at once.
_a small calendar(current month or week only) in which Leaders could set events, rendez vous,etc...
_ability to have a short help/Description of the SG (aside of MoTD) that allows some HTML tags (like UBB codes except for images).
Thank you.
things i would like to see in an improvement of SG
1. more titles, 5 would be good. allow to have entry level members and leader title
2. SG Vault. allows heroes to swap INF, enhancements, and inspirations between each other
3. Offline boot/invite: allows leader to invite or boot while target is not on, allows leader to invite their own alt.
4. fluid supergroup colors, and placeable logo. allow the change of color with mood of leader, maybe cost INF to do so
5. large numbers in supergroup. more the merrier
6. powerstructure options. creator is the owner, or voted leader. allows the SG when formed to either have a leader that give him total control, or a vote of support to have leader position.
7. SG taxation system. since SG will need influence to buy and maintain a hideout. deducts a % of inf when awarded.
8. SG specific missions
9. *borrowed idea* SG takes villian as SG opponent.
10. SG specific "temp"power: this power is purchased by SG at creation, and only available when SG is active. make temp power be a form of travel power
Freedom
Tannus Level 50 Defender *Level 50 on 08/21/05* - Freedom
Sgt. Robertson Level 50 Master Mind - Freedom
Angus Piper Level 45 Scrapper -Liberty
Cindy Jones Level 26 Arachnos Widow - Liberty
--Super Group missions/TFs that take 2 hours tops.
Make us do 3 missions at once then switch up and do 2 more simultaneously and finally one instanced missions where the whole supergroup can play as a team.
--Also, extended Supergroup mission contacts. Make them require 4+ people in a group who are all from the same supergroup and put timers between them. That is to say, you do mission one and then are told that 3 days (for example) must pass before you can do the next mission. Intersperse these with ambushes on the super group players over that period of time. This would encourage allowing everyone to feel that they are participating and you can have different teams each time you undertake another part of the story arc.
Since we can't boot Leaders out, some mechanism that drops characters from a SG after, say, 60 days. Or just someway to get rid of Leaders who have left for other games and didn't have the courtesy to remove their characters from the SG. (Others have mentioned this problem, and currently my SG has about 10 "Leaders" who have not logged in for about 70 days, and another who's been gone for 150.)
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

good point... but (Taking your Devil's advocate Hat for a sec...don't worry I'll give it back)
Would that be so bad? I mean what if you haven' promoted anyone, but that guy who was your first member at level ten and has played his way up to 50 when you disappeared off the face of the earth... I mean it could happen that that is the best thing for the group.
Here's your hat back, and nice job on sewing the souls of the damned into such a flattering chapeau. The Ostrich feathers are a nice touch too.
Of course most of my desires others have already said, but:
1) Flag to auto-permit SG members to rez and tp you, independent of the main one.
2) An SG description box similar to the player one.
3) More ranks.
4) Dual group membership (i.e. Batman is a member of the Justice League but also has a pool of connected heroes like Batgirl, Nightwing, and Robin to draw on that have nothing normally to do with the League).
5) Ability to change colors/symbols (with more options).
6) Larger message of the day.

Remember: Guns don't kill people; Meerkats kill people.
A while back, I had read that SGs were supposed to have the ability to use a "safety deposit box" at the Atlas SG registration counter. This would enable SG members to deposit enhancements for others in the SG to use.
I know you can't believe everything you read, but if this is true it would be nice if this could be fixed and made available to SGs. I don't really need a Hall of Justice, but I'd like a cardboard box where I can drop off loot for my SG brethren to share.
How about an SG-only Synergy power, that only works when 4 or more of your SG are together in a certain radius? For instance, your accuracy increases a little, recharges are a bit faster, slightly more damage, or something like that. Maybe the SG creator could pick it at SG startup, like the colors and emblem. A graphic that floats around you like the Inspirations or Leadership powers do would let you know when it is in effect.
I agree with Istar, the idea of an SG-related TF is a GREAT one.
An all-SG calendar is also a fantastic idea, so you can plan events.
Ideally, the tank will die precisely as everyone else starts fighting, allowing aggro to be spread evenly among the blaster. -seebs, "How to Suck at CoH/CoV" Guide
* The option to change the colors and the symbol of the SG.
* An automatic drop function for anyone that has not logged into their character in 30 consecutive days, including Leaders. Or, give leaders the option to kick other leaders after the 30 consecutive days are up.
* A Headquarters for the SG. This could function similar to the Dance Club.
* Repair of the SG window. Right now, most of the options for viewing dont function properly.
* Extension of the SG number of members or allow the SG to link with other SGs for chat purposes. This could be another option for a chat channel that we can link to or maybe have several of. Or, change the SG membership to account status instead of just character status.
* An /Ignore SG option. This will allow players to ignore an entire SG membership if they choose.
* A separate SG costume option that could be standardized and changed by the SG leader.
* SG contact that gives only content; Task Forces, Trials, and Story Arcs.

Kheldians get better with the more non kheldians they team with....why can't SG teams do this also? The more people from your SG on your team, you would get a small percentage of a boost somewhere. Maybe if I'm on an 8 man team, and 5 of the eight are in the same sg, those 5 should get a little acc bonus, or dmg bonus, or defense bonus.....just a thought.
