  1. It's been a pleasure knowing the both of you, crackhead fire scrapper. I guess we can add pastor to that now...

Nina has me on Skype in case you two want to stay in touch.

    My farewell

Sweet Buddy Christ, I can actually read that post...

Goodbye, Elf. I've enjoyed your insanity most of the time. Try to stay out of prison, eh?

    My Final post

It looks like I make my bucket list item of never having enough posts to become "Forum Cartel". I've hated that title since the day Kalimagdalene (now @Bella Strega) first named it.

I'll be online most of next week to say my final "see you soon" or "goodbye" to those that are still around. See you then, Steel.

Use them as a guide and worry about completing them as secondary.

Also, before you chose a new power, spend a few minutes in a safe zone figure out what works well with what. Synergy between powers is much more powerful in TSW than in CoH and that minor power you ship, might just be the one power that would make all the others shine.
This. Also, the main issue with the decks provided is that they only use active and passive abilities from the two weapons listed and don't take into account the synergy of the ability wheel. Just as we have done here, play around with different combinations to figure out what works for you.

One of the things that Secret World does better than City of Heroes is allow either/both PvE and PvP to be viable for character progression without the exploits that many use here.

I'll be limiting my MMO hours to work now and having quite a bit of playing life. Dropping roommates, getting my own place and dating again is a better alternative to living in an MMO anyway.
  7. Secret World is about to have a serious game update which will have me living in a perpetual PvP environment when I play there. I can't wait.

If you had known that CoH would get shut down in 2012, would you never have played it? Nothing lasts forever, you guys. CoH had an excellent run.

Of course it's a matter of time before GW2 gets shut down, but refusing to play it (or some other NCSoft game) because it could get shut down is some ridiculous paranoid Sword of Damocles ****. CoH ran for what, like 7-8 years? That's a long time, you guys.

But you know, whatever, play what you wanna play, don't play what you don't want to play. Sure, almost all consumer choices are based off emotion but we should at least try to be rational and reasonable.
City of Heroes II (or anything) made by the Paragon Studios team would be the only way that I will spend a dime on anything affiliated with NCSoft again. Short of something to that effect, I'm done with them.

    Incarnate Fun

NCSoft shut down Paragon Studios, so they cannot work on the game anymore. NCSoft are the people to be unhappy with over all of this.

You're welcome. If you like X-Files meets Johnny Quest with a strong horror/mythological base, than this game is definitely you.
  13. Take a look at Secret World and see what you think.
  14. This one sums up the entire server for me:

    Hear'n Aid - Stars
  15. Excellent idea, Amy.

    Diamond Eyes - Shinedown

    Farewell

Although many of us have said our goodbyes in here, there's still a chance for a reprieve.
  17. Over 15K signatures. Impressive.
  18. The beta ended with a Rikti Invasion, so should the game.

Very nice. Seeing all of that at once would be a blast.

  21. I have enjoyed the time spent here and wish everyone the best. What we have had here does not exist outside of City of Heroes, however, we'll always have our memories of being demi-gods saving the city from evil. Who knows, maybe TonyV and crew will make it possible for us to save the city again. Good luck out there and I wish you all the very best in life.

See you on the other side.

  22. NCSoft closed the doors of Paragon Studios without even a handshake, so the rest really doesn't matter. I won't be buying their product ever again and could care less if they fail as a business from this point forward.

    Farewell

Even the time of the god comes to an end, and we have all been demi-gods for a very longtime in Paragon City.

Words cannot really express how I feel about what is happening to our community here on Champion now that the doors are being closed soon. I have been working out what to say in my head since I first heard the news and it has been a difficult task. I am going to miss this place and the community we have had here, a community that I have never found in any other MMO I have tried.

I came here in June 2004 as a total newbie to MMOs. I had never been interested in them (I thought it was a crazy idea), however, this was a super heroic genre, one which I enjoyed a great deal when I was younger, so I gave it a go. This place has been my home through many years and I have enjoyed the community in it (both good and bad) every step of the way. I have met quite a number of awesome people on Champion and enjoyed the feeling of family that we’ve always had here, no matter ups and downs over the years. You guys and this place have helped me get through quite a number of life’s hardships and trials. Through the hurricanes that displaced me from months, a rocky marriage and eventual divorce, an extreme bout of alcoholism (which I have now mastered for quite some time), and even serious overweight issues (I dropped 85lbs. in 7 months back in 09-10 and I feel almost like I did 20 years ago.), all of you were there and gave me both encouragement and perspective enough to overcome my worries.

As our time draws to a close, I thank all of you for the times we’ve shared together on Champion, and I sincerely hope that you all find what you’re looking for in the future. On the road through life, perhaps we will meet again and raise a toast (just water for me) to the time of our lives that we had in our city and home. Until then, I look forward to seeing all of you for these last days in the awesome community that is Champion. Or get the *** out.

See you on the other side.

I wonder if anyone here remembers when CuppaJo gave me the forum cartel title. People started asking about it as soon as they saw it, and I denied everything. People really tried hard to convince me my title said forum cartel, too. I'm surprised no one sent me a screenshot.

I remember it quite well and you know I have always hated that title.

Thanks for everything you guys are doing and will do until the end, Z. If there's anything I can do to help, to have but to ask.
