For whatever reason, the Arachnos one especially cracked me up. Well played.

I considered doing this (strongly considered since my main is an elec blaster), but decided I'd rather be on the live servers, among friends. If last Friday's news was an iceberg hitting the ship, instead of making some very nice music with a string quartet, playing on beta seems like going to one's cabin and ordering up PPV skin flicks.

Quote:I'll see you and raise with "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."Sorry, I can't -not- get my hopes up. Sure, the realization is there that it might all come to nothing, but that's not the same as not having hope.
Going to quote, as best I can remember, a couple different sources here
"You have to believe in things that aren't real, how else can they BECOME?"
and
"Hope is a force of nature, don't let anyone tell you otherwise"

Actually...doesn't make much sense. My hero uses a sword. Oh well, I guess I'll have to level a TA character if we make it.

Hi everyone,
I wanted a place where I could give some props (do people still 'give props,' is that still a thing?) to some of the awesome people who were responsible for the great times I've had for eight and a half years.
Summer of 2004, I saw this dude wailing on guys in the streets of Paragon City (if memory serves, and that's an iffy bet, it was on Tsoo at the north end of Steel Canyon). The character was named 'Solaris Titan,' and I was having a hoot watching him lay down Super Strength on the baddies in question. My memory of the timeline is sketchy; I don't remember for sure if this was before or after I had rolled Gatecrasher. If before, he was what convinced me to go with Invuln/SS. If after, it was what sold me on using that guy as my main tanker.
We got to know each other over time, and in over eight years, KemLi always put together some great looking costumes (that only got better as the years went on, Crom and Mitra bless the art team!), compelling backstories, and if this guy was ever having a cr*ppy day, well he never let on to me. When league play and trials came around, he was always someone I could count on to run a fun and engaging trial. If there had ever been a task force that sent us to the Gates of Hell, I fully expected to be storming them on KemLi's command.
Thanks, friend.

A few months before Issue 16 hit beta, I wrote Castle a PM getting rid of Electric Armor's Conserve Power and replacing it with a heal, "and while I'm at it, I'll suggest a name, 'Energize.'"
I'm sure such a thing was already in the pipeline, but what can I say.
Also, "Kill Skuls" was kind of my fault. Sorry, folks.

Obitus, no sweat man.
I do actually use shift-click on some of my characters to decent effect, but it just never feels natural to me, as my right hand is still doing the Hokey-Pokey across half my desk.
AG: I think I've got a scheduling conflict; would be the only reason to miss it.
Gate -
AG, we're probably miscommunicating here. What I mean is, on all of my various characters, if they've got BU, in all likelihood I've got in set up in a tray where it can be activated by numpad6. I am making no assumptions about anyone else.

I would keep Build Up, but for a reason I suspect will differ from the reasons anyone else may have.
When I'm in a fight, my hands are at wasd and the numpad. To use any sort of dropped, Location-aoe type power like Freezing Rain, I have to move my hand over to my mouse, FIND THE PANCAKING MOUSE POINTER, drop the power, then put my hand back where I had it. By contrast, most everyone who has Build Up has it in a tray where it can be activated by numpad6.
Speaking only for myself, give me the latter. Nothing to do with better-or-worse quantitatively, all about ease of use.

Quote:Having been part of the train-wreck run, I can vouch for the fact that it was still a hoot.Having attended one of these successful runs last week (which was great, since it was my ONLY night during the week that I could play), I can vouch for the level of epic fun being advertised here. It was a great time, and if I get online Wednesdays, I have plenty of characters that I would be happy to bring along.

Hi all,
Well this is weird, as of a day or two ago, the NCSoft Launcher is not showing me as able to launch the Test Server, just the live game and beta. Test doesn't show up in either the "Installed" or "Not Installed" categories.
Anyone have any thoughts what might be wrong?

Awesome, I really appreciate the food for thought. Thanks so much!

Quote:I feel no need to dream modest dreams on this issue. The next time I finish the World Wide Red arc, I want my souvenir to be the Kronos mech...Mechs???!?!
Really???
Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I really hope that comes to fruition.
Nothing overly large mind you, perhaps a tad larger than the PPD hardsuit or such.

Hey,
Aptum: I considered that idea, but this guy is a villain, and I was suspicious of the ability of that tactic to cut it in Grandville, so I chickened out.
Terra: In the mental back-and-forth I went through on this, I came to realize that although I value both things (a hold or a ranged TAOE), the hold allowed me to throw in a little more defense via set bonuses. This character doesn't have a ton, and I was loath to let go of any where it could be helped.

Sure, that makes perfect sense. I was just pointing out the cheaper/easier to attain option.
Have a good day.

Quote:If you picked up any super packs and have enhancement boosters laying around unused, they might make for a cheaper alternative to the piece of Apocalypse, no?I six slot it with one Apoc (53% Damage) and 5 Touch of the Nictus. I could use a HO Dam/Acc enhancement but it will only buff the damage 33% and I think the common IO only buffs around 40% Damage. I really like having the heal and I basically spam it with every attack chain. I have done it like this with my Dark/Dark Blaster, Defender, Dark/Sonic Corr, Necro/Storm Mastermind, and now to my Dark/Dark Dom. It may not be the best slotting, but I am just used to it

Hello,
I'm still hopeful that one of you will be able to give a little feedback on this guy; I've tweaked the build above a little bit since my initial post (mostly just the order in which I pick powers).
In the Mu Mastery pool, is there much/any point to a Stalker having a hold? If not I can simply swap out Electric Shackles for Ball Lightning.
Thanks for your time.

I'll second Vox's thought. Cardiac Core is quite nice.

Hey there,
So with the upcoming Stalker changes, I figured I'd go back to an old build that's been languishing for a while. I've got an Elec/Elec up to L30 who's been sitting on an alt-server for the short side of forever. In trying to respec him into something a little more current, I came up with the following. Any constructive criticism would be great.
Thanks!
