Hey there,

So with the upcoming Stalker changes, I figured I'd go back to an old build that's been languishing for a while. I've got an Elec/Elec up to L30 who's been sitting on an alt-server for the short side of forever. In trying to respec him into something a little more current, I came up with the following. Any constructive criticism would be great.

Hello,

I'm still hopeful that one of you will be able to give a little feedback on this guy; I've tweaked the build above a little bit since my initial post (mostly just the order in which I pick powers).

In the Mu Mastery pool, is there much/any point to a Stalker having a hold? If not I can simply swap out Electric Shackles for Ball Lightning.

I'd like some feedback too, so hope ya get some,
I like having a hold, (fire) on mine, but Ball Lightning is a nice power, and I'd prob go with that, unless you got a buff you could slot in a hold that would work out better.

I have no idea when it comes to slotting but when I made my elec/elec stalker ages ago I never gave myself a travel power, as I used Lightning reflexes and all the other travel temps I had instead

Hey,

Aptum: I considered that idea, but this guy is a villain, and I was suspicious of the ability of that tactic to cut it in Grandville, so I chickened out.

Terra: In the mental back-and-forth I went through on this, I came to realize that although I value both things (a hold or a ranged TAOE), the hold allowed me to throw in a little more defense via set bonuses. This character doesn't have a ton, and I was loath to let go of any where it could be helped.

OK, here is the way I view things.

First, if you go with mu, then I would definitely take the hold over ball lightning. You have plenty of AoE, but there are situations where a hold is really helpful (hello, Hamidon).

I don't think your slotting choices are bad, but I would change the set-bonus priorities you have. Goal 1 should be to hit the s/l softcap; s/l is more potent than any other type of defense by far, and focusing on only it will increase your overall survivability more than going for a mix of defenses in this case. You can abuse the new Stalker ATO for up to 10% s/l defense by splitting the set between two powers.

Goal 2 should be recharge. You really want as much recharge as possible for this build. Ideally/expensively, you would shoot for perma-Energize and everything else would fall into place. Think about it this way: the less recharge you have, the more recovery you will have to work in, too, as you will not be able to use Electric's endurance tools as often. Try to get hasten.

Grounded is an iffy power on a stalker, but it has its uses so I'll leave that one alone.

Extra goals that can be done after Goal 1 and Goal 2 are achieved: Negative resistance (with those Scirocco sets you have in there), and +Damage. These two are icing on the cake really, and aren't nearly as important as defense and recharge.
