Super Group additions

I love the idea of nemisis villian group.. I also think they should constantly spawn in generous numbers ambushing members of SG saying, "death to (supergroup name here)" It would add a cost to being in the group and create a shared experience too!

Since my SG Leader can't post do to a mess up on his NCSoft account I'm posting this for him:

Things a SG Leader would like to see added:

<ul type="square">[*]The addition of a SG-only costume which can be accessed through the SG window starting at level 20. This allows a character to prove themselves worthy as a member and also works as a type of 'right of passage' of sorts.
[*]The ability for seperate SGs to link to one another in a Chat Channel with the approval of one Leader Class from each SG. That is, two Leaders agree to a common communication channel.
[*]An expansion to the /search Window/Command that allows a typed entry of a SG name to search for members of a SG that are online. Some SGs are known by reputation to have quality personel as part of their ranks. This would help facilitate expanding the number of people from a SG that non-members can know.
[*]An increase on the 75 member SG cap. Limits could be placed to prevent the number of characters from any one given account. The requests for a 75 Account limit would fit this ideal.
[*]SG Emails. The SGMOTD is a good thing, but has a limited amount of space available. Before this is added, the email system has to be upgraded to indicate that a character has email when they sign on, not when they open the Email Window.
[*]Demotions/Creator Transfer: The Creator of the SG should have the ability to transfer the rank of Creator to another Leader Rank member of the SG. This is linked to the Demotions aspect in that ANY rank within an SG should be able to be /Demote'd and/or /sgkick'ed by the Creator Rank. (Even SG creators can leave a SG; this gives an opportunity for the SG to carry on without them under new leadership as well as removing characters which have been inactive {or don't even have active accounts any longer.}) This should be possible even if the target is offline at the time.
[*]Color/Emblem Change: The ability for the Creator Rank to change SG colors after creation. Also, the ability to change/remove the SG Emblem after creation.
Having skimmed through this thread, I have yet to see a suggestion for SG Leaders to be able to set missions for their lower ranked members. (Maybe I just wasn't paying attention).

Lieutenants can set 'Hunt x# Villains" type missions, and Leaders can set Door missions, based on the Achievement badges they have collected. It's no more abusable than heroes joining forces on missions they get from their current contacts, and it gives more of a feel that the SG might actually have a finger on the pulse of villain activity. And give ranks in an SG a tangible benefit.

YMMV.

I think one of the most useful things for SGs would be the ability to better control the rankings within the SG. Perhaps allowing more rankings and allowing the leader/s to specify what powers each ranking had. Especially when PvP is instituted in I4, it would be useful to have control over who could initiate a rumble for the entire SG! Outside of that, I have to say I love my SG. The Galaxy Guardians are all big Statesman fans. We're all breathlessly waiting for SG bases in the COV crossover. Which is my last question - Will SGs be able to customize the interior of their base? Different themed SGs might enjoy differently decorated bases. Just a thought.
Regardless, we love your work Statesman, you and all the devs. Keep it up!

For the creator of the SG to have a 'root' admin rank above all other leaders. So that if, for whatever reason, the creator of the group can demote another 'leader' if need be.

Also, the ability to change SG colors, Logo or even name after creation. To prevent the need to disband and recreate a group if you want to tweak something about your SG theme.

1) SG Vaults

2) SG Hide Out? We want our own personal bat cave where we can sit with just the SG and not worry about being griefed (similar to dance party) Maybe we buy it like property who knows.

3) SG content aka missions with larger bosses ( I love giant bosses) But more or less just SG content that is instanced and not in a Zone for everyone

4) SG only accoladades for completing SG missions or trials.

5) SG inherent powers - potetntialy get maybe like a fun power in a particular SG aka "snowballs, wolf whistle" maybe have particular missions or missions set/arch story to get these. These powers may help define some SGs sort of a theme I guess.

6) SG ranking - similar to punisher list but maybe a cumulative score of healing and punishing and or missons complete.

7) SG costumes - particular costumes for the SG. Similar to the SG colors but now the whole outfit would match. Maybe also break it out to different levels and or Archtypes scrappers...tanks....defenders...etc etc like we do.

Though my SG leader has all ready posted his thoughts I would like to add my two cents States.
1. SG only content and missions, lets give everyone a good
reason to belong to one of these fine SG's.
2. More SG ranks, with demote/premote powers regard less of
on/off line status.
3. SG wide email - one shot to all members.
4. ability to view or monitor SG members.
5. The ability to hide one's self from all but SG members.
6. SG badge or patch insted of replacing user symbol.
7. special SG costume - reached by level or feat.
8. Ability to change SG colors/symbol after creation.
9. Ability to share influence/enhancements with whole SG.
10.75 accounts with all Alt's falling under one acct.

Thanks for asking States!

I know this isn't a SG suggestion but tossing it in.

Something that a friend that plays WoW told me can do is "email" stuff to his other toons. Like he can transfer money and weapons/armor from one of his toons to another. I like to see this option in CoH. I hate to bother a friend or wait for one to get online to move Inf to a toon of mine.

[/ QUOTE ]

Off topic too, but nice idea, would be great to be able to mail Inf and Enhancements to alts and friends.

I am very new to the game (entering week 4), so my comments come from that perspective.

I don't know how possible these things are, but I would like the following:

1. The ability to add a key custom phrase or slogan to the team. A simple key bind would execute it and your character would proclaim it loudly, maybe with a specific movement.

Teen Titans Go!
Justice League, to the rescue!

...are examples of what I mean, from older comics.

2. I'd like additional titles besides the two that exist. The ability to name someone treasurer, events coordinator or whatever would be useful. Indeed, ideally you could create two or three of your own custom titles and bequeath them to members.

3. I'd like additional XP rewards if your team is 4 or more members for a mission and contain all members of a SG. Perhaps a simple check to make sure they have been members for 7 days+ so its not exploited. The XP reward should be minimal, but enough so that it encourages SG play together.

4. I'd like a SG bank account, where members can donate influence to the SG bank and only specific titles can access that and spend it. Also if you are in an all SG team, you should get bonus influence to that account, maybe 5% in addition to what is dispersed to each individual member.

4(b). It would be ideal if SG members could buy ENH and INSP and donate them to the group, and the group would have an inventory of these things, that certain titles could bequeath to members as rewards or to gear up for a big mission.

5. I'd like the ability to see more info about the SG, when I click Info on a character. I should be able to read the bio of the SG he/she belongs to in a separate tab, that could include info on who to contact to inquire about membership.

That's it, those are my ideas. You've created a wonderful game. Congratulations on your success.

A lot of nice ideas here, not read them all, but here's my 2inf.

- Active Link in the SG Window to the SG's website, which when pressed minimises CoH and starts up the users web browser, taking them straight to the guild website.

SG/Guild communication is pretty poor in CoH compared to other games. ie in EQ almost every guild has a website, that comprises 75% of guild life (imho), CoH seems to be missing that extra element, and thus SG's are not the 'Super' things that they should be.

- Abilty for leaders to be able to Export the roster in a choice of file formats, so that it can then be pasted into guild website easier.

- More than 75 members, a LOT more, so that people can join their alts up too. I am great believer in 'One person, one Guild', as I feel it promotes guild loyalty

- Ability to mark characters as 'mains' or 'alts', and add name of whom alt is a main of.

- Ability to change SG colours. A lot of people join SG's based on the colours... a shallow choice I know, but people do this. Choose the wrong colours at creation and your SG is doomed.

- Give us back the ability to sort members by 'online' and 'last online' dates, this was broken in I3 or a patch shortly after.

I did petitioned about it, but only got the usual standard reply and then the old 'we have not heard from you for 72 hours' rubbish! (I get this a lot btw, and it isnt good customer care.)

- Kicking a Leader.

A tricky subject this one. Imagine Cryptic/NCSoft give Leaders the ability to kick other Leaders, and you create an SG and make someone a joint leader with you. There is then nothing stopping this other leader hijkacking your SG and kicking you out.

Therefore I suggest the following. Do not give SG Leaders/Captains the ability to kick/demote other Leaders, instead add another petition criterea for SG Leadership Issues. Leaders/Captains can then petition for an absent Leader to be demoted or kicked, and NCSoft/Cryptic then check their records to see if in fact this Leader really is inactive, and then kicks/demotes them if they are satisfied that they are.

This sounds really cool, but think how hard it would be to implement. Lets use this example and say your supergroup was named, "The Superfriends" - in that case the NPCs would be saying:
"Thankyou The Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the The Superfriends are on there way"
"Kill those meddling The Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the The Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"

In my opinion those pheases just sound a little silly and would detract more than they would add.

[/ QUOTE ]
I think there's a solution, if you first declare the name as it appears, then declare what the teammates will be referred to as a group. Could also be set up so that it alternates between individuals and the Supergroup as a whole, and can reference the titles of the leaders, too.

For instance:

[ QUOTE ]
Group Name: The Hand of Atlas
This will be used in the following manner: "Thank Goodness for ___________"
Plural Reference: Hands of Atlas
This will be used in the following manner: "Kill those meddling ___________"
Use Titles when referencing individual leaders? Yes No
Prime member name: Boss
This will be used in the following manner: "Boss Lascota, thank you for rescuing these children from harm!"
Secondary member name: Lieutenant
This will be used in the following manner: "You must hurry, Lieutenant Lascota! Hamidon is rising even as we speak!"
Tertiary member name: Minion
This will be used in the following manner: "Who's leading this mission, Minion Lascota?"

would like to see some type of banking system in game. Where you can put influence in the bank so one of your alt char can have access to that influence.

A time limit where any member, regardless of rank, can be kicked by an equal rank member.

Make "The" work like it does for character names.

Right now one group could be "League of Justice" and the other could be "The League of Justice" because of the way the system works.

1. Alliance Mode (e-mail, chat, see who's online)
2. SG you can see if a member is on hide from the general public.
3. Ability to change SG colors
4. Sort each column feature
5. Promote, Demote High Rank members who are inactive or are no longer playing.
6. Increase the size of the SG members
7. A central Banking System for the SG to use. There are ATMs all over Paragon City, why not use them??

further exploring the idea of team-colors:

a supergroup costume, which the leader can chose and set as the sg-uniform. like the costume-slots you already got, you can than switch to sg-uniform

[/ QUOTE ]

How would this work? Costumes are much more than costumes. They define attributes that can be very tied to the character's physical nature. For instance, having a belt on your 'SG costume' would remove options like tails.... For most characters, this is not considered a costume accessory, but rather part of the character.

You could potentially have the ability to choose to conform to certain aspects of the SG costume, just like now you can pick how your SG colours is applied, if at all. But then wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

Just a thought... love the other ideas, and this one too if they could make it work....

Here's something straightforward -

Give SG a nice block of text (perhaps the same size as a character's origin) and allow people to view your Supergroup info. It's hard to find a SG when you can't know anything about it other than the name.

I'd love to read about different SGs, and find one that works for me. Getting invites to random supergroups feels sleazy, but joining for a moment is the only way for me to get a feel for what the SG is like.

At the very least, when you get an invite to a SG, it could tell you the name of the SG, rather than just the name of the character inviting you.

Heck, I'd love to search for Supergroups the same way I search for characters.

An ability for the supergroup leaders to export a list of their supergroup members names, levels, origins, archetypes and other info, into a simple html on their computer.
-----
This might be a little... odd, but what missions being ran by a supergroup member, all supergroup members have the baddies con +3/-3 to the mission level.

Example:
One level 35 member starts a mission, and is teamed with a level 14, level 27, level 34 and a level 42. The level 14 and level 27 are brought up to a level 32. The level 34 stays, and the level 42 is brought down to level 38.

This would be similar to the giant monster con, only it would be for the mission and still provide a challenge.
-----
I like the nemesis idea mentioned earlier, and it would be nice if each villian of that grouped con equal level to each SG member.
----
Just about everything else is really good. I want all of these ideas.

These are the best and most functional ones I've seen here.

I second All of these.

Thanks for asking, Statesman. I'd like to see the following additions to the SG interface:

<ul type="square">[*]Allow SG Leaders to change SG colors &amp; symbol without reforming entire SG.
[*]an SG EVENT sub-tab on the SG interface, where Leaders could post dates &amp; descriptions of upcoming events, such as Trials, Task Forces, or whatever strikes their fancy.
[*]Ability to quickly and easily add all SG members to your Friends list OR a box to check so you'll recieve notifications when SG members login.
[*]Ability for leaders to setup a period of innactivity that results in characters being auto-dropped from the SG roster. I suggest a series of check-boxes for 30, 60 and 90 days...so SG leaders can choose the level of commitment that's required to stay in the SG.
[*]Display Global Chat handles in SG menu (at player discretion). This should be optional, where a player would have to check the "display Global Chat Handle" box in their SG options. If they check the box, then their Global Chat handle will appear in this column, allowing players to see which alts belong to which players.
[*]Ranked SG Chat Channels. Give us the option to make a Captians-only or Officers-only SG channels so SG leaders had a channel to chat in without involving all the lower-ranked members. While global chat might soon offer the ability to create custom channels, it would be inconvenient to maintain such channels manually.
As for the vault. IIRC that was canned long ago
there was too many ways to misuse/twink/steal/cause headaches/etc.

A website system that keeps track of ingame characters.

It could have all their game info on the site. Plus have how many of each mob a person has arrested, how many hours they have played, etc. We know all this data is stored so why not make use of it?

For your character to appear on the site you would have to register so as to not have anyone who didn't want their info posted getting upset about it.

Excellent idea!

LFSG. Kind of like LFT.

I'd like to see this, too. Also, I've seen a SG before, and wanted to check into it when logged in as a different toon, but then I can't find the person I saw or any other SG member. It would be nice to have a SG directory of sorts, where you could contact the leaders of a SG you were interested in.

Quick update...

I read through all the posts last night and this morning; I've compiled a list of several dozen features. These will probably make it in by City of Villains (if not earlier). Thanks for all of your suggestions! All were useful - some were really cool...
