Can wandering pedestrians talk about my group's accomplishments?
This would also help with recruiting if people around town are hearing random chatter about an active SG.

Work [supergroupname] into some contact dialog, just for roleplaying.

Is [supergroupname] a variable for chat purposes? If not, it should be.

I'll post this without bothering to read all the eleventy billion pages, but someone may have touched on something similar:

I'd like to see the ability to flag a character as your "main" in the supergroup, and also add a column the the SG list that shows peoples' "main" characters. This way, if say I make Tulzar my main character in my SG, then have an alt in the same SG, people would know who I am. This would avoid confusion for people who have lots of alts. I noticed this was a problem when Kheldians were introduced, as not everyone in my SG named their Khelds similar to their main (I did, as you can see in my sig).

Allow for a SG UNIFORM (not just a color scheme) that won't take up a costume slot! That would be REALLY nice!

The SG vault will probably come out when CoV is released because from what i've been reading... a SG will need to save up influence in order to get a base. As for the costume... colors isn't enough... sg members should be able to all have the same costume without goin to icon and then looking at your other sg members to see that you got it wrong... doh! The creator of the sg should be able to design everything except the face, hair, and size of the character. The money for this costume would come from the vault of course. This sg costume would be treated like another costume slot for everyone that only their sg leaders can change.


Currently roleplaying, badgehunting, and laughing at the PvPers of CoX. lol, PvP.

How about this:

Every Group that reaches a certain time period with 75 members may submit a EPS or WMF 2-color image as the SG, that will be used as the group's emblem.

I want more SG symbol options... not more symbols, but more places to put them. Options for smaller chest symbols for men, breast pocket-type symbols for both sexes, belt-buckle placed symbols, shoulder placed symbols, and cape-placed symbols. The X-Men all haver very different costumes, but all have that red X somewhere. It'd be nice if CoH Supergroups could do this.

I didnt read the whole thread.. but thought id throw my 2 cents in.


being able to be a part of an SG is great.. but personally what I would like to see are more in game benefits to being a part of an SG. Nothing that would make being in one mandatory.. but, something that would bring SG members closer together.

Like.. for example, special combo attacks between SG members. Sorta like how Colossus and Wolverine have the fastball special . Possibilities would be like, SG members using Ice Storm and Fire Rain at the same time would create an ice slick (cause it melts the ice.. get it?) Or using Inferno in a choking cloud creates a huge explosion. That kinda thing.

Also.. Special missions for SGs.. difficult missions that would require a good mix of different ATs to complete the objectives. This would promote some diversity in SGs.. and also would maybe lead to a bit more planning when adding people to an SG, to make sure you get a good mix. The idea above would do that as well.


Basicly.. anything that will make being part of an SG feel more like being a member of a group in a comic book.

Wish list for SGs

1. Bank or vault to store enhancements and influences that could then be taken by anyone in the SG
2. SG badges. That the SG would get after doing things ( like TF ) together
3. possibility for SG to be open for help calls by anyone this would allow me for example to put a call to all PCPD or Taxibots.( a very nice group by the way) This would be a setting done by the leader of the SG.

Give a reason for me to bother with Super Groups. Right now the only thing SGs offer is a huge friends list and similar costume color scheme. Boring.

- A BOLDER SG title when my SG is in SG Mode. So when we're running around you KNOW I'm part of a special team. Ultima Online was good like that. With badge titles and what-not, the SG name above your head doesn't stand out.

-Boost XP/Inf gain when in SG Mode and teamed as an SG. Nothing crazy, but a little somethin' somethin'

-This is a biggie. Specific SG content! Make us want to form-up, suit-up and fight evil as an SG. Perhaps designing specific SG story-arcs with arch-villians at the end. Oh, how about this. String along a series of story-arcs with arch-villians...like a comic book storyline.

-Random missions that payoff in more XP/Inf than we'd normally get via regular missions.

Let me explain. One of the things I loved was the cartoon, the Superfriends. Where their big computer would flash "Emergency Alert" and some army general would appear on the screen letting the Superfriends know they are needed for something.

So I see a possible alert beacon on the GUI that sounds an alarm when at least 2 SG members are online. When clicked, we get a vague message of help from someone in the government. Upon entering SG Mode and changing our costume, we're auto-teleported to some secret government war room, where a top-ranking official gives us a mission and then TPs us to the mission itself.

Ahhh, just some crazy ideas, but bottom line....more content that makes us want to jump into SG Mode! Give us that Avengers Assemble! rush!

1. More than 75 members. THe first SG we had filled up real quick.
2. SG email. i want to be able to, as a leader, to send out an email to all members to make detailed announcements that won't fit on the MOTD.
3. The ability to change the emblem and colors after the creation of the group.
4. SG uniform.
5. MOre ranks.
6. The ability to demote and/or boot inactive leaders.
7. A SG control panel where you can define several variables. Things like rank names, how long someone who is inactive gets auto booted, who can promote, demote, or recruit, maybe an auto promotion system that says once a character reaches xx lvl they get auto promoted...things like that.
8. An SG vault that can house inspiriations, influence, and enhancements. acess can be dependant upon rank...a rank 1 could only withdraw 1k a week or until it is paid back, etc..
9. A page in the super group menu that is dedicated to rules. So you can post what the sg rules are and not have to tell every new person, keep them posted on a website, or email everyone.

To expand on this idea and also bring in some vision. Think about the new Justice League unlimited as an SG in COH. They have what at top level SG should have. A base with teleportation/vehicles to get to any area (or mission) and the ability to hand out missions to its members.

So how do we take these ideas and turn them into a system that starts out small and at the top level gets to JLU status or beyond?

Level 1 SG. When making an SG, its currently free to register. Thats fine, thats level 1. Currently just a way to have a new list of friends and a chat. (I really think the current SG system is pretty poor)

Level 2 - A base of operation. You need to buy a base and as touched on in COV it costs influence to persuade the city to give you a place rent free.

Level 3 - A SG needs to expand, but just using each members influence is.... boring and puts the burden on some level 50s that already have super bucks. What we need is when you get your fist base its a run down building in KR or Hollows, its a small room with a table and one NPC. This is your Paragon city liason that the SG members must do missions through in order to increase the SGs influence. This NPC is able to give out missions to each person based on thier level. When you select this mission only SG members can be on your team or added to the team. Any influence gained by the team members is added to the SG's special influence that can be used to purchase:

Purchasable items using SG money (the same NPC as above has a list in which only the SG leaders can access).
1 Move your base to a different area.
Cost based on zone, and distance to train. (Low cost up to Moderate)
2 Add a trophey room to your SG.
On high level SG missions if your SG beats an AV and you have a trophey room a statue version of that AV is added to your trophey room with a plaque that lists date of capture and all team members for the first capture.
Cost - Moderate
3 Crey teleporter - Can send anybody that clicks on it (think crey portal in PI) to the enterance of their currently selected mission.
Cost - extreme
4 Crey personal teleporter - accolade that is given to each SG member once when they enter the base. Click this power and you automatically zone to the SG base.
Cost - extreme
5 Select a SG nemesis - as stated by solo_4114
accolade with a perm power given to each member as they enter the base for the first time. Increases the number of missions versus that nemesis as given out by the SG NPC.
Cost - high
6 SG supercomputer - replaces the NPC with a super sized computer and screen that has more missions to select from The NPC has 2 at a time, the PC has 6. This simulates the SG being hooked into more Crime prevention systems.
cost - High
7 Crey portal - Only able to purchase after you buy the nemesis. This portal acts like an instanced hazard zone (think of a tram mission with hazard zone spawn sizes). The portal only spawns mobs from the nemesis. The level of the spawns is based on the team leader that enters the portal. This portal leads to a dimension where the nemesis has taken over. Your SGs goal is to clean out the dimension and free it. On the flip side for COV the villans also get this portal and their task is to make sure they keep this dimension. This could get really complicated but could end up helping define the push and pull for PvP in COH. Because this is not in our world nobody gets any influence for any "kills" in these "missions"
Cost - extreme
8 Expand base by one room.
Work out room - just for looks, no usable features.
Dance party - smaller version of the current Rave, no exits.
Coffee shop - just for looks, no usable features.
Computer room - just for looks, no usable features.
Magic room - just for looks, no usable features.
Science room - just for looks, no usable features.
Vehicle room- just for looks, no usable features.
etc...
Cost - moderate per room added, max of X rooms.
9 Labs - these are like stores, they buy and sell enhancements based on origin.
Science lab, Magic lab, Tech lab, Gunsmith, Genetics lab.
Cost - high
10 SG vault - an NPC "store" that buys and sells enhancements for 0 infl. Great way to unload unused enhancements for other SG members without worrying if they are online.
cost - high
11 Training room - Arena so SG members can PvP spar with each other with no benefit or loss.
cost - moderate
12 Holo(Danger) room - 100x100 area that creates spawns in the center based upon a selection entered in by a person at a terminal outside the room that can look in through the glass. Through the interface the user can select spawn size, level and enemy type (council or vahz, etc). All spawns count as pets(no exp) and any defeats gain no debt. The spawns despawn when they get close to the door.
cost - high
Hospital - Instead of getting transported to the city hospitals your SG members zone to this room in your base upon defeat.
Cost - high.

Remember folks things like kicking SG leaders, changing colors etc are needed, but they should be obvious to the devs now. What this game needs more of is focused content that brings an SG together with a united plan. At first it starts with just getting enough cash to buy all the cool features, then it turns into a turf war with a COV ?SG?. This kind of content keeps the game interesting at all levels.

my idea to add on to the SG bank thing, when you click to deposite there would be 5 choices :
Deposite Influence to Super Group (accessable to all membersif a member needs money they can take some but no more than 10% of what is in the bank)

Deposit Personal Influence (only you can retrieve from your own account)

Deposit Enhancement/Inspirations to supergroup (if you attain a insperationor Enhancement you dont want to sell but you cant use, put it here for an SG mate to take and use, they cant sell it, they must place it on the spot)

Deposit Enhancement/Inspirations Personal (only you can retrieve these form your box)

Cancel (duh)

To add to this concept(and no I haven't managed to read all the suggestions yet, so my apologies if I reiterate anything)

Maybe once a base is set up, have prospective members able to go to the base to sign on rather than hope to get the leader online. He can then, when he signs on, look at a prospective list each time with notes added and say yea or nay. It beats having to lurk and hope you can catch the leader.
Also, with the SG bank idea, in order to keep abuse to a minimum, allow enhances, inspires and influence to be 'borrowed' for missions/purposes and returned within a set frame..with a similar ranked or higher enhance or inspire or more influence than was borrowed.
I also liked the idea of SG missions to get SG Influence to buy things for the SG, but maybe also give the hero 10% of the influence or something..after all, yes, it would be a member of the SG, but it would also still be recognized as Joe Blow...

Top leadership should be transferable if people can't play due to RL issues. Maybe after 30 days not logging in, another SG member can take the leadership and transfer it to whoever. And this not necessarily the SG Creator -- they might be the one not logging in! Autoboot options for players not logging in after set periods of time should be available, also an option not to have any autoboot..

The costume for the team should be a choice of changing the color, or the form, or both. Logos should be optional, and there should be a chest-pocket logo option. The costume should be alterable at a later date (as to color or form or both) by the appropriate leader in the group. Maybe this costs influence from the supergroup "bank account"? If there are costume options that aren't available across all body types (e.g. hair styles), then they would not be part of the group costume chosen. Or those options would be able to be set by each individual player.

If you don't want to raise the 75 member limit, please allow alliances so we can easily chat among the minigroups that we play in. I'm for a higher SG maximum number, but really I just want to be able to find the people across the various teams I play in.

5 ranks would be a nice expansion.

A switch to view only the SG members who are on, or all the members online or not (as currently). This makes it easier to manage long lists for big SGs.

Paragonian citizens chat about SG accomplishments. Heroes can look up SGs at the info terminals. The SG can write a short history/description to display in the terminal. ...


Lots of good ideas and implementations in this thread. Haven't read them all.

Something to DO.

That is, content designed to be done BY supergroups, that might have components at multiple levels, or need to be executed at the same time, or require (As with raiding) >8 heroes working together. Arena battles as groups and base raids (circa CoV) will be a help along this way, of course. As it is, the groups are just kind of informal social clubs with matching outfits and a dedicated chat channel-- there aren't any tasks specifically designed to employ them.

It's as though every Justice League arc was just a Superman arc with a couple of other guys sidekicked along.

On an easier to implement scale, perhaps some badges that could be obtained by the *entire* supergroup, if a particularly difficult set of circumstances were fulfilled?

I'd like to reiterate the suggestion for a distinct supergroup costume. I'd guess this would be designed by the SG creator and perhaps changeable by the SG leader. I imagine the SG creator/leader would be able to design three variants, one for female, male, and huge.

The ability to change SG colors (again, only the SG leader can do this).

When creating the SG costume, perhaps we get costume elements that aren't available to players normally.

EXP bonuses for teams that consist entirely of SG-mates. Doesn't have to be a huge bonus, just a reason to be a SG aside from having an extended friends list.

EXP bonuses for SGs that go thematic. All-mutant SGs, or all-Scrapper SGs, or something. Not sure how that would work.

-The ability to create ranks and assign permissions to each rank (i.e. Recruiting, Kick, Promote (up to # level), Demote (down to # level), MOTD, SG Colors, SG Info Tab, Vault Access(Influence/Enhancements, Give/Take))

-The ability to change the SG colors AND symbol after Super-Group Creation

-Assignable "Kick" periods for inactive members (Any day you set via level) and "Demotion" periods for enactive officers

-The "Master Key" given to the founder at creation that always acts as a Leader, can set any permission, kick ANY player (even other leaders), can be passed on, and is automatically passed to the next oldest ranking leader in the event of a no-show for 60 days or an inactive account)

The ability to have SG colors set differently for EACH costume a character has. (ie costume one is mask in sg color and costume 2 is hat with NO sg color0

WHOA this topic has a lot of replies and I don't have time to read the backlog, so forgive me if this has already been said, but...

I would REALLY like to have different Supergroup colour settings saved for different costumes--as it is, the colour settings for one costume seem to be applied the same way across my character's other costumes. My main recently got her second costume and the supergoup colour settings for her first costume don't look at all good on her second costume and vice versa. If the SG colours for each different costume could be saved instead of each costume defaulting to the same colour settings, that would be super groovy!

One thing i would like to see is a Super Group recruitment facility. By this i mean a place in game where a SG can advertise to potential players that they are looking for recruits and even go as far as giving out basic missions as membership criteria, example the Justice Lords are looking for new recruits, Level 20+ and to join you must defeat 10 Tsoo and 10 Freakshow, when you have completed the mini mission you go back and membership is granted. This can be expanded upon if you wish by making missions harder and even by having to meet a ranking officer.

It just makes it easier for heroes to find an SG and for SGs to recruit and also providing a bit of depth to SGs.

Ditto on all the prior suggestions. I would like to suggest along with the SG based enhancement/influ pool, each member have a footlocker or an individual bank for enhancements/influ. If you wanted to make a certain portion of your fortune available for SG uses you could. Someway to prevent a mole from sneaking in and stealing the SG's influ pool.

Maybe have a room in the sg base/mansion built for your toon, customizable of course ( I want the Playboy mansion ). Good place to park a toon. Maybe an auto return feature. When you log it asks you if you want to go home.

Some way to see how each hero has there powers slotted. Maybe a SG based information databade with stats, builds, slots etc.

In the short term (my top priorities):

One of our "CEOs" is unable to play the game because of computer failure as well as work issues, and now his account has expired. However, he remains listed as one of our top leaders. In this case, the former player if more than willing to take his name form the roster but cannot.[*]I love the new roster information about hero level. However, the "last on" column is no longer sortable (it was when we first got it). I would like to have the "member since" column restored.[*]The MOTD interface is frustrating. If I make a typo at the beginning of a message, I have to backspace through the whole message to correct it. I can't click and place the cursor.[/list]

Hear, Hear! We must have multi-team encounters to support the forming of strong SGs. I would offer more accolades as the rewards for accomplishing more difficult, multi-mission, multi-team encounters.
