Super Group additions

What tweaks would you like to see for Super Groups?
What new features?
[/ QUOTE ]
1) The ability to choose either NULL as a logo, or to choose a skin pattern as a group badge.
(ex: Let's say I want to found the "Woad Warriors", a mostly melee group with a blue "tribal" pattern theme. With the "Tribal" pattern on the torso, there is no room to put a logo without it competing with the already busy pattern of the blue tribal inks. I would like to be able to not have a logo (and control the costuming as an internal mechanism of the SG.), or to choose the "Tribal" patterning on torso, arms and legs as our logo, and set the SG colors to Deep blue such that, when the PC enters SG mode, whatever pattern they have on their costume becomes the "tribal" pattern when they are in SG mode. (Basically a swap out as happens with the logos right now.)
2) The ability to adjust SG colors (Heck, if we need comic canon to justify this, lets look at any SG in the comics that changed artists...)
3) The fabled "Vaults" of the SG... an ability to hold insps, enhancements and influence in reserve. I would like to suggest that the Vault should have 2 settings:
....a) Any may deposit, only leaders may withdraw (This will offer some sense of control over the innner workings of the vault for large SGs that have many, many heroes at the lowest echelon).
....b) Any may deposit, any may withdraw (This would be better for smaller SGs who have a higher trust factor and leadership may not always be available to disburse needed resources).
4) The ability to tailor permission sets for the ranking system. At this time, there are very few permissions associated with being in a SG, but I can see that permission set expanding as we gain SG HQs, Vaults and other benefits and responsibilities associated with SG's. I would like to see the SG Head(s) be able to tailor the rights and responsibiliies of the different ranks to accommodate his/her/their vision of the SG.
The ability to remove dead leaders. Got one guy going on 200+ days, that's long enough to have him booted out, imo.
Someone's suggestion about e-mailing everyone was darn useful, imo.
Perhaps alternative costume colors. Sort of like Home and Away game uniforms.
Super Group bowling leagues!
1 ) SG sized content. Encounters built for 20-50 people. (difficult to get too or instanced would be preferable)
2 ) SG sized story arcs. A series of encounters which are likewise filled with SG sized content. ie: the SG must accomplish X before it can do Y.
3 ) larger member maximum. 75 is too small
4 ) Alliance chat if nubmer 3 isn't working. Or simply customizable chat channels with channel name and Password protection.
5 ) housing, which is comming in CoV.
6 ) Promotion/Demotion to offline members.
7) SG Stats, like kills ect, from the statistic consols in each zone.
8 ) at least 1 additional Rank above general membership.
9 ) Ability for any officer to edit the Message of the Day.
10 ) Did I mention SG sized content? Specifically level 50+ content.
Thanks for providing this thread States..
My ideas are rather large scale, and centered upon a team prestige system that combines prestige points and influence for supergroups to take advantage of some great features..
I think its something that any group would love to have, and its somewhat related to what you see in other games..
An SG would acquire these Prestige Points by completing certain SG taskforces, missions, kill tasks, or recovered artifacts from villain bases. WHile this concept has been discussed heavily, Id like to focus more on the rewards or options that prestige points would open up for an SG:
Prestige Points that you can use to upgrade:
-Base defenses like turrets, laser protected entries, time-elapsed traps and hidden trip mines
-Acquire new unique SG items or weapons you can use in battle, like stun guns, heavy freeze rays, healing bombs, etc.
-Acquire new vehicles!!! I've always thought that piloting a mini-dropship that you could haul your SG members around in would be awesome, especially when you unload your members over a hot spot crawling with enemies. I also like the idea of SG limos.
-Supergroup NPC's that wear your team uniform that assist in protecting your base from intruders and enemies. (I think this feature would be a fan favorite, especially if you could pick the powersets of your NPC defenders you put outside and inside your base). If this could be expanded, I would even vote for an SWG-type features that allows you to purchase NPC's to accompany you around the map and on missions. (Compter sidekick, anyone?)
-The ability to buy unique costume options for large amounts of prestige and influence that no one else has access to.
_______________________________________________
Some other features I would like to see would be
-SG information tabs other players can click on in-game to see your SG description, motto, recruiting statement, and leader and contact list, etc.
-Yearly or monthly supergroup server banquets or meetings in a city convention center, museum, or some other elegant public building. I find myself wanting to go inside a lot of the current buildings, and think it would be neat if the devs hosted "mingling" sessions between the supergroups where Statesman, or Back Alley Brawler made appeareances or speeches to the gather heroes, etc. (IMO, this would be very easy to implement and organize, yet there is a suprising absence of interesting things like this in the game-instead we are left with frozen lakes) -Sorry to those who put hard work into it, but I think your efforts could be more appreciated and respected in other areas of the game...
Also, Id like to make a statement about Alliance Chat. I have many friends in a lot of the larger SG's that express their anger all the time about how their SG's do not effectively communicate with their internal members..Keeping this in mind, Im curious to know why everyone is pulling for an alliance chat when the majority of the individuals I know feel like their SG leadership does a poor job already, and, in most cases, barely know some of the individuals in their own SG?
Why not focus on strengthening your forces internally before worrying about what another SG is doing, planning, etc. This chat system will be a lot more feasible after CoV is out, but until then I would want the develoeprs to give more fun features priority.
Ping me at @Psion or Psion2.
I need the ability for SG colors to be costume specific. The way it is now has half my costumes look very bad because I want my main costume to look good in SG mode.
Allowing multiple sidekicks or exemplars for any one player. It might be a good idea for two lvl 30 players in an SG to work with three or four much lower level players so that they can work together - as an SG should, yes?
A tab in the Player Info window that says SuperGroup if the person is part of one (the way Description only shows up if they have written something). This tab would show the SG Name, the player's rank, the SG motto, the SG colors and logo, and an optional message that can be written by the SG leaders (like the message of the day and such).

{edit} one more thing, how about let us use the useless terminals throughout the city for SG recruitment?
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that is a hell of an idea! Cheers for that one! =)
I'm not going to read through hundreds of responses to see if my suggestions have already been suggested, so here goes:
I'd like to see the ranking system be a lot more customizable. There should be more than a top, middle, and bottom rank. It'd be nice to see 6 or more ranks, with customizable options for each rank. You could decide independently for each rank who has invite permission, kick permission, promote permission, demote permission, etc. Demotes and kicks should only be applicable to those below your rank. The customizable names for each rank option needs to stay too.
With this in mind, the group's founder should be a special, unique rank, with all permissions, including kick and demote for those at the top.
All these customizations should be available only to the founder, and should be available on the fly, rather than set in stone at the beginning.
As for the 75 toon limit, I'd like to see that changed to a 75 account limit. It doesn't matter if I put 5 toons in the same SG-- I can only play one of them at a time. I should still just count as 1/75 of the capacity in that case instead of 1/15.
Finally, you know how heroes on your screen show up with blue names and highlight boxes, while heroes on your team show up with green? I think it'd be nice if heroes who are in your SG but not on your team would be highlighted with color as well. Something purple might be appropriate. I'd still want the teammate color to take precedence, but it'd be nice to look around a crowd of names and immediately pick out an SG mate at a glance.
How about having different jobs that can be assigned to different members of the SG. One guy would get to be the banker. One guy could design the defenses. This could help divide up the work off being the Leader and get more people involved in the group. This could go along with the different ranks, or just let one person who doesn't want to be a leader but likes making bases have a job.
You could even have one guy set as the SUPREME OVERLORD, who can do anything. This would be me
I'd like two things:
1. Global Chat Names on the SG menu.
In most SG's each person has multiple characters, so I'd prefer to have a column that only displays them by their Global Chat Names, thus making the menu significantly shorter and easier to use at a glance. It would be neat if I could do the same thing with my Friends List. Also, it would immediately let me know whether a new SG member was an alt or a new member. I suspect that some people may want to have an alt not associated with the SG from time to time for whatever reason, but I hope that's not a stumbling block.
2. Movable Columns on the SG menu.
I usually only look at the names to determine who is on. If the columns are actively movable, I could reduce the size of my SG window to only show the names. Then, when I wanted to check other things, it would be easy to adjust accordingly.
Alliances- Look a supergroup is nice, but if you really want to get a good task force (or even a raiding party and adequate defenses for a supergroup headquarters) you need alliances. I'd like a system where we can link supergroups together. It will also allow me to move alts and the less than active players to a side group.
More Ranks- At least one rank for the founder.
Better Email options. I'd like to send group wide messages
It's been said before and I'll say it again: SG transportation that can be called upon to move a SG between maps or within a map (and I don't see this removing teleport, as it's very useful within missions). Say a SG has active players and the SG pools influence together to purchase a SG transport that can be called upon the head of the SG or one of the Lt's. also, varying vehicles and styles, ranging from something as wacky as a giant condor w/ a beanie on its head, something akin to the BlackBird in X-Men, CIA-style black cruisers, pimp-mobiles, schoolbusses w/ customizable grafiti, handgliders, helcopters & parachutes, ect.
SG vs SG battles: I'm not a huge fan of involuntary PvP, but say some friendly competition between SG (say battle soccer or football arenas in addition to the beat-them-blue PvP arenas). Have the currently logged on SG members be evaluated on a scale, and ranked according to some "Battle Point" system, so that SG's can look at the numbers and see how easy/hard the opposing SG is. NOTE: this has NOTHING to do with how well the SG actually performs in battle, as player skill and tactics can overcome sheer power to a degree.
There are some very good ideas on here that are feasable to implement into the game. Two that I am very fond of are:
1) A "Founder" permission set for the creator of the SG. Would work well for SG specific management requiring 'final authority' (not like Section 5 needs that)
2) SG instanced zones/missions. Two possible styles here: huge, climactic battles the entire SG participates in at once, or story arc missions where individual teams of SG members are each working on separate missions that contribute to an overall goal. This could span levels easily: e.g. low level team takes on street level villains, discovers clue as to who is pulling the strings. High level team takes out the villain masterminds.
Quoted from Nathan, two posts down from me. A MUST HAVE.
With all the numerous mentions for super group missions, myself included I would also like to add 2 other things.
First is a 2nd Background Tab that contains the History of the Super Group, if there is one. So anyone checking the character info will see his Rank in the super group and their back story.
The second is a Tab for souvenirs, like the badges you can see all the characters personal accomplishments and separated out is all the accomplishments of the super group that this character participated in.
one thing i would like what i didnt see was a way to talk to your SG member sort of like teamspeak would be nice =)
I would like to see:
<ul type="square"> [*]SG alliances and alliance chat. [*]Ability of the leader to change SG colors/emblem after creation.[*]SG trial membership that expires if not confirmed after a period of time. Trial members would not have full access to SG resources, but would wear SG name and colors, though trial member status would be indicated.[*]SG event posting/calendar.[*]Upgradable SG bases/vehicles. Ability to buy a basic HQ then later add luxuries like trophy rooms, training rooms, hospitals, etc...[*]SG bank for exchange of resources among members and to make purchases as an SG (see above). Leaders would set withdrawl permissions.[*]SG instanced zones/missions. High level team takes out the villain masterminds.[/list]
definitely an SG locker/storage system. members can throw in enh's that other members can use. other than influence whats the point of getting a bunch of enh's that 80% are useless to each person. let them be of benefit to someone within the SG. the same goes for insp's.
an SG bank account that members can deposit and withdraw inf from. will come in handy for SG bases when everyone has to pitch in to put a roof over their heads. will need some type of accounting system so the leaders can see who has been the benefactors as well as who is spending all the $$$. inf doesnt grow on trees after all
if 8 members of a supergroup are all on the same team and all of them are in sugpergroup mode a bonus to +dmg, +acc, +end, +health would be nice....

Hehehehe!! That would be too much! The Dev's would never go for that (team unity? bah!), and besides, that would make people group, and who wants that, ESPECIALLY in a supergroup!
5 stars to you!

Might have already been said, but I would like a transporter room in my super group's abode. It would let you pick ANY Zone to transport to, as long as the user has met the level requirement. Meaning that a level 1 super group memeber would not be able to get to many of the zones, but the level 50 super group memeber could get to all of the zones.
I know the next one has been mentioned, over and over, but I'll join my voice to the throng:
Please, Please, PLEASE give us our vaults. I want to be able to help out my super group members with inspirations, enhancements and influence.
Thank you for your consideration.

When on a mission, and all team members are of the same SG... make the NPCs and Enemies say the SuperGroups name instead of the players name.
ie "Thankyou Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the Superfriends are on there way"
"Kill those meddling Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"
[/ QUOTE ]
This sounds really cool, but think how hard it would be to implement. Lets use this example and say your supergroup was named, "The Superfriends" - in that case the NPCs would be saying:
"Thankyou The Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the The Superfriends are on there way"
"Kill those meddling The Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the The Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"
In my opinion those pheases just sound a little silly and would detract more than they would add.

But don't they have the same problem with people who name their toons "The whatever" today? What would be the difference if it was a Super Group name used instead? I liked that idea.

i can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not....but here's my reasoning:
I've been on many SG's and there's never anyone on or just a few...and if they are on they don't have time or wanna solo....
Yes this would encourage teaming and more people playing...
i can see maybe a 5% increase in each stat...

I'd like to see the sort options fixed. The ability to sort the Super Groups window by "Last On" broke when Issue #3 was launched.

Kheldians get better with the more non kheldians they team with....why can't SG teams do this also? The more people from your SG on your team, you would get a small percentage of a boost somewhere. Maybe if I'm on an 8 man team, and 5 of the eight are in the same sg, those 5 should get a little acc bonus, or dmg bonus, or defense bonus.....just a thought.

I second this great idea....
My main request is for more SG type activities.
