Super Group additions

Most of the suggestions I have have already been poster several times so I'll only post the ones I haven't seen:

1) Som benifit for teaming with other SG members. I hate to here all the stories from people that say "Ya I'm in a SG but we never play together." It doesn't have to be a big bonus mabye a +1% DEF or something when in a team with a fello SG member. Anything that would encurage SG members to team, after all isn't this what an SG is about.

2) A unique rank for team founder. Alow them to promote/demote ANY member no mater what rank they are. Also no other member will be able to promote/demote/kick them. They founded the SG, noone should be able to take it from them. If they want the leader gone soooo bad then quit and reform under a new group.

Thats all right now but I may have more later.

In order of priority:

1) The ability to do Super Group Missions where everyone becomes the same effective level.

This is so important to make super group missions viable. Plus it would give something valuable to Super Groups.

2) Super Group Story Arcs

3) A Super Group Vault that players can dump unwanted stuff into.

This is a song about a super hero named Tony. Its called Tony's theme.

Here are a few thing that i would like to see, and why.

1. Create Super Group Alliances with chat. Since we are limited to 80, it would be nice to keep in contact with other friends outside the SG.

2. Allow Super Group costume and name to be changed after creation. Change is necessary sometimes as people come and go, and power changes hands.

3. Auto-Demote leader if inactive for 30 days. Since it was already stated that a character wouldnt be auto kicked from an sg, at least let the next officer with the most time in/ most activity be promoted to the position so things can get done.

4. A "Trouble Alert" type function that can be activated by an officer to let other members know that an event/ingame meeting is needed. Like if your hunting the Huge Monsters and actually found one. Something like a flashing "ALERT" near the target window would work great.

5. This may be the wrong area for this sugestion but some SG only missions would be interesting. Something along the lines of the above Alert system gets triggered with a mission from City Hall. The missions should be completeable by numerous groups of any size (and hero makeup) but only members of the SG can participate.

That's all I have for the moment. I'm sure some of these ideas have been propused already, just wanted to toss my vote in for them.

75 accounts instead of 75 characters. You can only play one character at a time, anyway, and it's a pain to have to create multiple alternate SGs just to house everyone.

We couldn't recruit more because we were full, then when EQ2 came out half the members left, leaving us with three 3/4-empty SGs. If we'd had more people, we might've avoided this. Plus, a number of them have indicated that they're going to come back after Issue 4 is released, and I'd hate to go through the same thing again.

The Nemesis concept:

Each individual player and/or supergroup may declare a specific villian group their "nemesis." By declaring a group as your "nemesis", you gain certain abilities (possibly based on AT), and potentially certain weaknesses.

Brilliant!

To expand on this idea and also bring in some vision. Think about the new Justice League unlimited as an SG in COH. They have what at top level SG should have. A base with teleportation/vehicles to get to any area (or mission) and the ability to hand out missions to its members.

So how do we take these ideas and turn them into a system that starts out small and at the top level gets to JLU status or beyond?

Level 1 SG. When making an SG, its currently free to register. Thats fine, thats level 1. Currently just a way to have a new list of friends and a chat. (I really think the current SG system is pretty poor)

Level 2 - A base of operation. You need to buy a base and as touched on in COV it costs influence to persuade the city to give you a place rent free.

Level 3 - A SG needs to expand, but just using each members influence is.... boring and puts the burden on some level 50s that already have super bucks. What we need is when you get your fist base its a run down building in KR or Hollows, its a small room with a table and one NPC. This is your Paragon city liason that the SG members must do missions through in order to increase the SGs influence. This NPC is able to give out missions to each person based on thier level. When you select this mission only SG members can be on your team or added to the team. Any influence gained by the team members is added to the SG's special influence that can be used to purchase:

Purchasable items using SG money (the same NPC as above has a list in which only the SG leaders can access).
1 Move your base to a different area.
Cost based on zone, and distance to train. (Low cost up to Moderate)
2 Add a trophey room to your SG.
On high level SG missions if your SG beats an AV and you have a trophey room a statue version of that AV is added to your trophey room with a plaque that lists date of capture and all team members for the first capture.
Cost - Moderate
3 Crey teleporter - Can send anybody that clicks on it (think crey portal in PI) to the enterance of their currently selected mission.
Cost - extreme
4 Crey personal teleporter - accolade that is given to each SG member once when they enter the base. Click this power and you automatically zone to the SG base.
Cost - extreme
5 Select a SG nemesis - as stated by solo_4114
accolade with a perm power given to each member as they enter the base for the first time. Increases the number of missions versus that nemesis as given out by the SG NPC.
Cost - high
6 SG supercomputer - replaces the NPC with a super sized computer and screen that has more missions to select from The NPC has 2 at a time, the PC has 6. This simulates the SG being hooked into more Crime prevention systems.
cost - High
7 Crey portal - Only able to purchase after you buy the nemesis. This portal acts like an instanced hazard zone (think of a tram mission with hazard zone spawn sizes). The portal only spawns mobs from the nemesis. The level of the spawns is based on the team leader that enters the portal. This portal leads to a dimension where the nemesis has taken over. Your SGs goal is to clean out the dimension and free it. On the flip side for COV the villans also get this portal and their task is to make sure they keep this dimension. This could get really complicated but could end up helping define the push and pull for PvP in COH. Because this is not in our world nobody gets any influence for any "kills" in these "missions"
Cost - extreme
8 Expand base by one room.
Work out room - just for looks, no usable features.
Dance party - smaller version of the current Rave, no exits.
Coffee shop - just for looks, no usable features.
Computer room - just for looks, no usable features.
Magic room - just for looks, no usable features.
Science room - just for looks, no usable features.
Vehicle room- just for looks, no usable features.
etc...
Cost - moderate per room added, max of X rooms.
9 Labs - these are like stores, they buy and sell enhancements based on origin.
Science lab, Magic lab, Tech lab, Gunsmith, Genetics lab.
Cost - high
10 SG vault - an NPC "store" that buys and sells enhancements for 0 infl. Great way to unload unused enhancements for other SG members without worrying if they are online.
cost - high
11 Training room - Arena so SG members can PvP spar with each other with no benefit or loss.
cost - moderate
12 Holo(Danger) room - 100x100 area that creates spawns in the center based upon a selection entered in by a person at a terminal outside the room that can look in through the glass. Through the interface the user can select spawn size, level and enemy type (council or vahz, etc). All spawns count as pets(no exp) and any defeats gain no debt. The spawns despawn when they get close to the door.
cost - high
Hospital - Instead of getting transported to the city hospitals your SG members zone to this room in your base upon defeat.
Cost - high.

Remember folks things like kicking SG leaders, changing colors etc are needed, but they should be obvious to the devs now. What this game needs more of is focused content that brings an SG together with a united plan. At first it starts with just getting enough cash to buy all the cool features, then it turns into a turf war with a COV ?SG?. This kind of content keeps the game interesting at all levels.

[/ QUOTE ]THOSE ARE AWESOME IDEAS! I HOPE A DEV READS YOUR POST!
my idea to add on to the SG bank thing, when you click to deposite there would be 5 choices :
Deposite Influence to Super Group (accessable to all membersif a member needs money they can take some but no more than 10% of what is in the bank)

Deposit Personal Influence (only you can retrieve from your own account)

Deposit Enhancement/Inspirations to supergroup (if you attain a insperationor Enhancement you dont want to sell but you cant use, put it here for an SG mate to take and use, they cant sell it, they must place it on the spot)

Deposit Enhancement/Inspirations Personal (only you can retrieve these form your box)

Cancel (duh)

Not sure if this has been stated of not, or even if this applies...

I'd like to see /hide functions specifically for /publichide, /friendshide and /SGhide

I sometimes hide to keep strange tells or unwanted invites away, but that means my friends and SG don't know i am there, which sometimes is a pain.

By sperating the /hide commands i can have the option if JUST /hiding from the public...

I love Mephe's post, but there's one thing I'd like to add.

Types of bases and advantages/disadvantages to each.

Example: A ground base can have a nicer computer (using his example), but the teleporter wouldn't be as fast as say...a mobile base or something of the sort.

Since you've stated continuously that you're not going to increase the number of players in our SG's... you've got to give us an easy way to find others online. Our SG has had to create a second group in order to hold our "alternate" characters and I expect we'll need a 3rd shortly.

We need a /who all "supergroup name" command

We need a private chat channel ability so that members of 2 or more groups can talk, and please do NOT let it be moderated... It's annoying to no end when the channel gets moderated and no one can talk...

We need to be able to email the whole SG

Our expanded sg list is awesome. To add an area for every one to make public and private notes would make it more awesome.

Let us download the roster list for uses outside of the game.

Thank you so much for all the work you do.

p.s. I need to add that the supergroup number limit really bothers me. If we were only allowed one character per server, then I would totally understand, but we aren't. We're allowed 8. So with the current limits, only a handful of people could have all of their characters in one SG... If you're not going to increase our number limit, you must give us a better way of communicating and seeing who all is online...

Three things.

- A listing of supergroups in City Hall, for players to research and learn about without having to go onto a supergroup's website.

- The ability for a Supergroup to possess a supergroup vehicle, like the Blackbird, the Javelin or a teleportation chamber. It would work like a mission door, transporting players to missions unreachable by normal means. Like an island that you have to fly the superplane out to.

- The ability for supergroups to buy out some of the billboards in the city and use them as advertising.

<ul type="square">[*]Enhancement Bank
I imagine this would be tied to Supergroup bases, and players would probably have to actually go to their base in order to "withdraw" them... but it would be really great if there were some kind of "drop boxes" through-out the city (or perhaps use existing Post Boxes). If you "drop" an Enhancement on the box (similar to giving a gift to another player), it is sent to your Supergroup's bank.

This would would give players a convenient way to contribute to their Supergroup, and avoid having to delete enhancements that they can't use (but which someone else might be able to, or the Leader might be able to sell to help pay the rent).

The Bank might also possibly accept Inspirations, so that you could drop spare ones in the drop boxes, and then the Supergroup Leader could give them out before Raids or other large group events.

Well, bases are coming, so I won't get into those. Same goes for Global and Alliance Chat. But, as has been said:

Ability to email entire SG (maybe also friends list?).
Ability to demote inactive leader/captains.
SG trials/raids.

Other things like 5th costume slot, more ranks, etc. would be nice, but not top priority for me.

Archiving enhancements is perhaps the most significant thing supergroup members can do for each other.

Right now the current method consists either of muling (i.e.: creating a character which has no other purpose than inventory space) or holding onto the things yourself, taking up valuable space.

1. Earn points for your SG from completing Story Arcs or special SG only missions or task forces.

2. Have certain contacts for various SG only missions that acknowledge the name of your SG.

3. Temp. powers, costume options, badges, ranks etc as a reward to the whole SG upon earning enough points.

I like having only 75 members on an SG as it would prevent "uber groups" from forming if this idea is implemented.

<ul type="square">[*] Super group sized missions. I want a scalable trial that requires anywhere from 10-30 players to complete. It should also accept SK's and RSK's to guarantee the widest possible participation.
[/ QUOTE ]

Or maybe something like this where everything used a form of the Giant Monster code to make all mobs in the mission even con to everyone participating regardless of their level. Thus it is an equal level of challenge to every member in the SG trial?

Also they can use that system in a way that all minions always con white regardless of your level, all Lieutenants always con yellow, bosses always con Red, elite bosses and up always con purple.

Then let the even playing field brawl begin!!! :P

Adding my vote for:

A lot of people have made some really great suggestions (alliances, change SG colors, being able to have the colums sort again), but here is mine:

I would love to have events that my entire SG could partake in. I remember reading about the Faultline trial in the game manual and couldn't wait to go for that with my SG.

I'd like to see different ranks among SG members... With the ranks I'd mainly like to have the ability to invite to the SG available to certain ranks only, not to everyone who has been promoted. Or better yet have a voting system, where a certain percentage of the SG must agree to let the person in... I'd also like to have a SG costume instead of SG colors.

I would like to see a separation between GUILD and SUPERGROUP. I see a lot of suggestions about being able to vote people out of a guild, including a leader.

However, if I found a supergroup with a name I want then I don't want to be voted out. It's *my* supergroup. The Avengers, JLA, X-Men, Protectors, Fantastic Four, etc., are supergroups. I think too many people are stuck in the guild paradigm from other MMOs. For those people, have a guild system.

All other suggestions have been covered that I'm interested in (vaults, alliances, demoting captains if you're the SG creator).

A LOT of good suggesttions here - I agree with most of em. Even though it was mentioned before I wanna toss in my 2 cents for suggestions that I like most (in case you are keeping count).

1) Give SG leaders ability to make an SG description. This description can be see from a list of SGs accessed on the city terminals.

2) SG alerts! Leader can instantly "call" all members online to assemble at HQ by initiating the SG alert system. This would appear as a spotlight in the sky with the SG symbol (RE: Batman-ish) - and only viewable by SG members - so we don't have 50 different spotlights and what not shining in the night sky. SIDE NOTE: make this an option, a) spotlight signal, b) audable alarm sound with blinking warning appearing on a members screen (Supergroup X - ASSEMBLE!), or c) portal opens up next to SG member to TP him to the SG HQ.

Aside from that I love ths SG HQ ideas - make em cost influence! Put banks in the HQ, make it cost INF to buy "Hazzard rooms" where people can train, gain no xp and lose no debt when they die. A Viewing room that replays the action in the hazzard room. A Lab where SG members can "sell their goods" (enhancements, etc if they don't wish to donate freely in the bank vault). Please make this happen States! CoH really needs more fun options to compete with other online games.

Yeah, I like that idea... or here's a variant on the idea-- what if, in the options, you could choose a different option for a store or a helper who takes up permanent residence in your SuperGroup's Headquarters?
<ul type="square">[*]Grassroots Follower - a store that sells all manner of Trainings. Low cost.[*]Corporate sponsor - a store that buys and sells Trainings and DO's - companies such as Cooke's Electronics, Subgenetics, and Orion's Labs. Moderate cost. The company's logos show up on the back shoulder blades of the costume, or on the lower part of the cape.[*]Superior sponsor - SO &amp; DO stores, like BiotechniX, Exarch Industries, Future Dynamics. Tailor Shop built right in. High Cost. The company's logos show up on the back shoulder blades of the costume, or on the lower part of the cape.[*]Butler - A store that buys and sells only what you give it for $0 in Influence-- basically, a bank for items. Also, an Icon shop at an extreme discount. Most expensive option. Butler walks around the SG HQ dusting and occasionally saying things about the SG.
What do you think?

I'd like to see SG info. Add a new tab to hero info for SGs that include the SG background, specified by SG owner, and SG membership background (how hero joined SG) specified by hero. Allows heroes to develop the RP-aspect of the game in-game and not out of game.

Didn't read the whole post, so here goes:

1.) Primary and Secondary power pools listed.
2.) Fix the sortability glitch (thanks for bringing back joined date btw)
3.) Longer MotD text capability
4.) More ranks

and finally.....

5.) Some sort of robust Alliance feature. Im sure you're working on this.

Posted

1. The ability to edit the supergroup colors and symbol after formation.

2. The ability to opt -not- to have the supergroup symbol applied to your sg costume. It works on some costumes, but on others, such as barechested men or armors with the jewel chest piece, it doesn't work. I'd like a "Display Supergroup Symbol?" checkbox, and if it isn't checked, it retains the costume's normal chest option.

Just an afterthought and I am sure it's asking A LOT of the devs but - when you are in SG mode and teamed up with other SG members - get a TEMP POWER (slow recharge) to use that involves 2 or more people to kick off the power -

Fastball Special anyone?
